A great vid, thanks, I am looking to combine this system with a DIY version of the ‘pill bottle’ stove, easier to get the brick than ceramic wool. Thank you for the material info too
Fantastic work on this project! Just wondering 💭, would you or your viewers know a substitute or person another name for “Ceramic Wool”? I am having trouble finding it here in the USA. Thank You!
@@itsmescottp Thanks. I found it in Amazon USA, being listed as “Ceramic Fiber”. I was completely unaware of this product. Keep up with your great content!
Just rewatched this because i did a mod to a Tranga Gel burner and filled it with felt and mesh and because of the size of it you get some pretty impressive flames and using the Vesuv 600 windscreen and oversew 600 pot i can get 400ml of water to a rolling boil in 4 minutes 20 seconds using meths ...ok its a few grams heavier but the extra flamage is worth it on cold mornings. I have missed your vids, when are you next out on a mission Scott ?
@@itsmescottp Good luck with the leg, nothing worse than niggling injuries especially when the conditions are good. PS Predictive spelling messed up above, i meant Evernew 600 pot.
Nice! Got 3 questions: 1. Once full, how long does the flame last, more or less? 2. Can you recharge it while burning or squeezing an alcohol bottle on the flame is too dangerous and you have to wait it burns out before? 3. Does the soft material inside needs to be changed or can I use it in a one month trip?”
Hiram Cooking say that "sweet spot was 1"(~25mm) - for stoves like Trangia B25, Fancy Feest. Paleo Hicker test various heights and for fast boil 1.25" was the best. So "mileages varies".

Nice one bud. I'll be back out soon, been fixing my leg 😂

Cheers pal. Typical me, I usually just push through any pain, but decided I'm not getting any younger so may as well try fixing it properly 😂

A full stove does 2 brews and 2 meals for me. Wind dependant though.
Blow it out before refilling.
It will last forever.
Look great, selling any?
Thanks. Possibly!
What is the best distance between the pot and the stove?
For a regular size pot, like a 500-750ml Toaks style, around 2 1/2", for wider pots a little lower for more spread. 👍🏻
@@itsmescottp brill, thanks
No worries 👍🏻

👍🏻
perfect for boiling a quarter of a cup of tea.
If you can only manage a quarter of a cup you're doing something wrong.
One 50ml fill gets me a meal and a couple of brews.
