I haven't seen any Halo collar reviews where people actually wear the Halo 2+ dog collar and try it out for themselves. I go through unboxing and setting up the collar, testing the Halo dog fence, and more as I share my first-hand experiences.

I appreciate your honest review. It seems like most reviews cater to the product and don't point out the down side to the product they are reviewing. I appreciate that you discuss the pros AND cons.
Glad you enjoyed it!
This is because many of the crappy websites like "technopup" and "outlook India" don't actually have the product and just review it based on the product page which would never diss the product.
Thank you for your review! So helpful!
Our pleasure, glad you liked it!
This company actually charged me to return a collar that did not fit. Be careful with this company because if this is their customer service policy BEFORE I have even setup and tried the product, their customer service is likely to follow this model :(
Thanks for the review
Our pleasure, thanks for watching!
I had a faulty halo plug-in which was brand new and overheated when charging overnight and melted the connection on the collar itself. I’m glad my house didn’t burn down. Getting a replacement took forever. Not impressed with the customer service.
Hey, thanks. I wondered about this
Im one week in with Halo Collar and I am not happy with it whatsoever. Will be initiating a return today. GPS fencing is NOT accurate. Dog was getting shocked in home for no reason.
So sorry to hear that!
That's obviously not normal and you were probably using it wrong. It's never shocked my dog unless I do it in the app
Is your house set within your fence boundary
Oh.. it shocks them?!!?!! That’s awful :/
@@Emperfectionsshock your dog for $650.
So you pay $650 for the collar and they ask you to buy a subscription after?!?!
Yes that’s correct
That's what I said. Automatic no.
It’s no different then buying a cellphone and paying for service, or a ps5 and paying for the online use. The technology in that collar requires a live and constant gps connection.
Holy crap $$$$
@@danielpedder8943yea but that’s not warranting 700$ plus the sub
300$ and a subscription sounds more reasonable
Monthly subscription 😂
For $650 I would hope that collar would be near perfect for accuracy. I have a mini dachshund who is hard headed. He can listen, he’s a good boy most of the time but cats like to tease him & he’s been known to take off after them. So to be safe, we keep him on a cable when he’s outside (or leash). I was looking at this collar thinking it might be something to get for him to help train him to stay in the yard without having to be on his cable or leash (for his own safety). But idk about $650 for something that’s not completely accurate (& I don’t want him getting hurt).
I think they make a profit by overcharging and then counting on people not going through the return process. This is a piss poor product. I can only guess that two thirds get returned which is why the high price.
Hi, is this the original or the halo2? Your review and some others has me hesitant, but if there is a new version I'd hate to pass on them.
This is for the Halo 2+.
Hello. I have two not spayed females 4 year old coonhounds and one 4 year old not castrated male coonhound. Only thanks to Halo collar they can roam free for past three years(55 acres). Before I put it on my friend tested it on himself for free lunch a received 15 shocks. I can assure you, that I would prefer my dog to get accidental shock close to the boundary than end up like a road kill. The area must be big enough at first until the collar “learns” the boundary. I have been very fortunate to see how Halo was evolving and getting better and better. I frequently leave my dogs for 10h alone( they have a dog door) for past three years. Even when there is a dog in heat next door every six month my male is still alive and at home! If you are willing to work with Halo and figure out how it works your life will change for ever. No hound dog should be castrated or on the chain. Troubleshooting, patience and open mind is necessity for the Halo collar and your dog to achieve 100% satisfaction….so, it’s not for everyone. I get that. Have a great day!
Thanks for sharing! We just published an update review of the Hal Collar, the link is in the video description of you are interested!
I just saw your updated video. Now imagine you will get million $$ if you get shocked on max few times. That’s how my coonhounds are. The male especially will try atleast once in two weeks, if it still shocks. Your video is awesome!! I just want to add that if one dog hears another dog’s collar it usually turns back before the warning. Thank again!
Sounds like a brave pup! Good point about the multiple collars. And thank you as well!
I saw enough. Unreliable and money grab subscriptions to keep it going.
What if I have a 330 Perimeter fence - but dog jumps would you recommend
Not sure on this one, might be best to contact Halo.
Hmm. Oh dear. We need it to work and be effective 😅
YIKES your option is PRICEY. BUT... if it works it works. What's the update on the spot on. Like when the dog breaches the boundaries, how often does it send update location on where your puppy is?
I believe its real-time.
We just got the halo collage today and the feedback is so slow. The time my dog gets the warning he’s waay outside of the fence
That’s no good 😐 have you gone through satellite data collection and calibration? This should be fairly automated on the 3, but we had to play around with it a bit to get the 2+ working better.
do you need a monthly subscription to use the collar
The Halo Collar does require a subscription as far as I know.
Opening an account was mentioned with various levels of account. Hmmm. Does this mean that in addition to paying a bunch of money to buy the unit one must pay some kind of subscription?
Yes, the Halo Collar does require a subscription.
@@ThePamperedPup Thank you for the clarification.
sweet and straigh to the point
Thanks!
You can have GPS technology (2$) with Bluetooth technology (2$), with e-collar functions (15$) all combined for the low low price of 650 dog treats. And a subscription on top?
Wow, we really are suckered aren't we.
Not worth it. I have had it now for 4 month and it no longer corrects my dog when he goes outside the GPS fence boundaries. The beeper goes off but does not produce a static correction. I held the collar in my hand with the probes in my hand, exceeded the boundary and no shock, nothing. I opened a ticket with support and received a response that did nothing to assist me.
Sorry to hear you experience. Thanks for sharing!
I bought the collar a year ago and they just doubled the base subscription price WTF!!! 10.50 a month after the tax… I’m really upset
This would not work with my beagle. I've had this type before and he figured out how to rub his neck in the ground to move the prongs around the the side of his neck. Then he was gone. He is appropriately named Rascal for a reason!
oh my word...it goes up to 15? that seems too much
What about for two dogs
Typically you’ll need two collars. The other option is a wireless or in-ground system, for those you can buy additional collars that are more affordable than the system as a whole.
A subscription on top of a $700 collar yeah I’ll stick to my wireless system. Haha
Yeah of course make your dog suffer with shocks..
@@brandoncalderon9599You realize this collar shocks as well if the dog ignores the warning.
@@brandoncalderon9599 my dog suffers one time. He doesn’t try it again. He’s pretty smart. From the many reviews on this collar regardless if they are in the perimeter still get shock and suffer.
How does it feel to be ignorant?
why would you shock your dog tho
And it’s not even reliable, I would use a leash even if I could have this for free.
what if you dont have wifi but just a smartphone. gps cannot be exact cause of the atmosphere. so in another words don't trust any gps controlled collars.
I found the Halo collar a very poor product. I bought a collar back in late 2020. Had multiple issues with it not working. Returned for a refund. This all took about a year to send it in multiple times and then to get the refund. In late November of 2021 they came out with an updated version. Claimed they had fixed all the issues. I applied my refund for the new collar. Upon receiving the new collar the same issues persisted. My dog would get beeps and corrections when no where near the boundaries. Corrections and beeps would be delayed. In the summer of 2022 it quit working all together. Would not charge.
I would not count on these collars to completely safeguard your dog. The quality is not there. The connectivity can be spotty with anything on cell data or gps. They should not put your pet's safety on this. The workmanship and reliability is not consistent. Might as well spend the $ on fencing or an underground dog fence. If you do try it out, please be aware of the very short window of time to return it. A 60 day return policy melts away fast with training and product shipping.
Thanks for sharing! Sorry to hear about your troubles.
No halo. Got it.
I don't need to pay for the subscription after I modded the collar lol
Awesome! Good work 😀
I couldn’t shock my dog
Agreed
Well how bout your dog gets squashed by a car?
If it's a shock collar why do you were it..your dog will probably end up frustrated
I do not recommend this company - they refused to credit a purchase I sent back unopened. I purchased two of these Collars and first tested it on my one dog it was so unreliable I decided to send the unopened one back.
So, we went to the moon over 50 years ago, and we can't get a collar that's effective. You can figure out the rest with all electronics.
The SpotOn works!
@The Pampered Pup Thanks to your other videos, I did watch the "spot on" video right after this one.
We are going to get that one instead. Unfortunately, the price is so high, but we have no other choice given our situation.
Awesome, hope it works for you guys! It’s been great for me.
Did we really land on the moon?
@@ThePamperedPup but you have to have at least a half acre so not really a comparable option.
Not for a husky
If you care about your dog, don't buy this collar.
Straight ripoff maybe if it was $400-$500. And no subscription. I say give it a year or so and we’ll see cheaper versions.
Our Halo 3 Collar just shocked our dog while he was sitting on our couch inside. Please DO NOT ever use this!!
So sorry to hear!
The Cesar Milan connection is a 👎👎👎
No way would I shock my dogs. I’m out
Never owned a stubborn pitbull? They don't feel pain like other dogs
@@adamcopley9860A Cane Corso would probably laugh at the 15 setting.
Expensive junk!
I am just here to dump on halo. Do NOT buy this. It is an absolute overpriced piece of trash. It will NOT stop even a mildly determined dog.
