    Thanks so much for your videos. I'm a complete novice when it comes to tracked machines and was wondering how someone adjusts the tension. Thought it was going to be a bit more involved than it is. Really enjoyed learning how simple it is! Cheers! :)

    Kubota KX 121-3 manual says to position the track seam on top and halfway between the idler and sprocket when adjusting the track tension.

    You only grease when adjusting the tension ? Or is like when greasing the other points every 10 hrs of use ?

    That’s not correct. You don’t measure from the lower section of the rollar. You measure from the higher section directly above the tang of the track. Maybe that’s what you meant but that’s not what you pointed to. The maintenance manual says the distance should 13 mm. Your tracks are waaaay too loose.

    When I’m in loose dirt or sand is it normal for the tracks to feel weaker when turning the entire machine with the tracks?

    How do you correctly grease the arm, after 2 weeks my machine is covered in grease, so I guess I'm using to much?? Great video!

    • @DirtNinja
      @DirtNinja  8 ปีที่แล้ว

      +Paul Grindley Yes you could be using too much or you might be working and brushing the arm through some tree branches. The grease get on the branches and then when you swing through again it get spread over the machine.

      I’ve look used one for years now, keep it clean & don’t overload it ( if a zert or gallery is plugged) don’t force it. Use the proper tool
      Or pull the pin & open the port.

    If you over tighten the track by accident, how do you loosen it? I had squeaky tracks and didn’t realise that the grease zerk was for a piston. Thought it lubricated. Also what causes squeaky tracks? It’s a Takeuchi TB16 with a bit over 50 hours.
    edit: I don’t know if I did over-tighten it and will check tomorrow but I did give it a few squirts of grease on each side. I am due to check the track tension after 50 hours per manual.

    That's a pretty cool mechanism, with the grease piston for tension. I've never seen anything like that

    • @JimsEquipmentShed
      @JimsEquipmentShed 8 ปีที่แล้ว

      +Kyle Cherry Yea, neither had the dope that I bought my used machine from, He had filled it up until it wouldn't take grease anymore. Pretty much ruined the track motor, and the track. If you put too much in, you can loosen the zerk fittings connecting ring and the excess will squeeze out. Mine blew out about a tube full before stopping. I pulled the idler wheel in a little more just to start fresh.

      Theres a small plate on the rail you take off, the grease zirk will be under there

    I watch many of these video and found no one completed.. The important thing is to know the type of grease to use... Therefore, found your video uncompleted... One star for you
