Think my research is done! 🙌🏻🥳 As a fella with a 'bigger midsection' as Austin so politically puts it, I think this design without the monitor and subscription package... Ie the Classic model package... Is going to be my purchase after weeks of research. Row row row yer boats, kids! Thanks Austin! 🙌🏻
I have an Ergatta, however knowing what I do after using it for about a year I would have got the A1 monorail and bought the Ergatta add-on. I really really hate the footplate placement on by dual rail. -Chris
@@Imfeasin WOW nice. I thought the A1 was great. But why they not make a higher end version. And black. And not this from city row shit system. Great im gonna buy the A1 with the S4 upgrade. Wish i could get another wood though.. (But the color is the least of my issues)
I considered buying the Citygo row but ended up buying on Amazon an A1 Waterrower in Driftwood that has a monorail and has an S4 monitor that you need to use an Ergatta add on package. I did not like the dual rails that are on most Waterrower I saved $400 than buying the Regular Ergatta and I have the more comfortable rower! Highly recommend!
I was thinking of doing the same but it looks like the A1 Waterrower comes with the A1 monitor and not the S4 monitor which is needed for the Ergatta add on package. Please share the link of your A1 Waterrower with the S4 monitor. Thank you!
Im new and was looking a cute machine that looks nice in my tiny apartment. Bc many of them ugly. But this not only looks good, you explained the value really well. Guess i gotta pony up after all 😭
Thank you for this excellent review! I am very interested in getting a water rower for its quietness. Otherwise we just pull the trigger and buy a concept 2. I have a question about the classic version. On the website it states that the classic version comes with a LCD backlit monitor. I'm wondering if this is true and if one can use this LCD monitor just like a PM5. That is with no subscription. I do not want a monthly subscription. I do want to be able to track metrics (again with no subscription. Needed) it's not clear if this is optional on the classic version. For example, the aviron states on their website that even if you do not have a monthly subscription, you will be able to track your metrics on the monitor provided. Provided. It would be great if this machine allowed you to track metrics for "free". Austin, are you able to provide any feedback on using this rower without a subscription and still being able to track necessary metrics? That would be great if you could weigh in on this. Also, it would be great if you could include this type of information on all of these subscription based rowers that you review. You give us a ton of information and I really appreciate it, there's got to be other folks out there like me who don't want to pay for a subscription, but are still interested in these higher-end models. Thank you so much.
Great review! I'm debating the Aviron versus Hydrow. Versus this Cityrow max🤔. Would love to see a comparable of all 3. What is your favorite? Do you own all 3?
soooo I own the ergatta which is basically the same set up. I tried the City Row Go classes but man I could not get into the instructors. I did a couple classes but could not get into it. I rather use metrics and games and pushing myself rather than following an instructor.
Having a hard time deciding between the high end machines. Leaning towards the Averon. Because it seems to have more interesting programs. Which would you get?
Burnt Sienna Orange Which "high end" works best without a subscription? What would you recommend to a client that wanted a quality machine, and your workout?
Hello! I am also very interested in information on the lit strength machine/ rower. It's amazing that this product has been out for years now, but there is really nothing out there as far as independent reviews. One thing that seems very appealing about the rower is that it's water rower with a monorail. It has a lifetime warranty. That's right, lifetime. However, it does not seem that the company is geared towards showing traditional rowing metrics, like distance split time watch stroke rate. I'm not sure if their app even tracks it. Would love to find out more about this and if this is a good choice for folks who want to get into rowing. Or if the LIT company is marketing this as just a way to burn calories along with their other workouts. Thank you so much.
Interesting. My husband and I have a Water Rower and thinking of getting another rower. (C2 bc it is easy to take apart and take outdoors) The City Row Go looks quite smooth on its rail. It might be worth checking it out. 😀 As for favourite colour? Shade between Emerald green and Forest green. 😊
THE CONCEPT 2 IS OUT DATED JUST FACTS.. PEOPLE HOLD ON TO WHAT THE MASSES SAY AND NOT ACUTUALLY LOOKING AT WHAT THEY ARE GETTING AT A PREMIUM PRICE....I CAN NAME A TON OF THINGS ABOUT THE CONCEPT 2 THAT IS OUTDATED THAT YOU THINK ABOUT BUT OVER LOOK... 1. NOT FOR THE PRICE YOUR PAYING HELL NO ITS 3 OPTIONS OF ROWERS THAT WILL EASILY KNOCK OFF THE CONCEPT 2 ROWER...ALSO, UNDERSTAND ITS A REASON WHEY THE COMPANY CROSSFIT USES THE PRODUCT ITS CALLED PROFIT
Favorite color? I used to say green, and I've often said purple. But blue is awesome, as well, as are the colors of gemstones and autumn leaves. There are simply too many great colors for me to claim that any one of them is my absolute favorite. Thanks for this review and for all the great content you post. You're always an inspiration and a pleasure to spend time with.
It's literally the same machine, both Ergatta and CityRow machines are made by WaterRower. I wish he would mention this is his videos instead of just peddling an affiliate link - can save at least $200 by buying WaterRower A1 (+ phone arm attachment) direct from WR.
@@Jo-elvanBergen It's actually I believe the same as the A1 Studio - not the A1 Home (more wheels under seat, better footplate and wider handle than on the Home I seem to recall).
Hi! Water rower has a mono rail , the A1 version, and your feet aren’t so close like the dual rail too. I was wondering if will suit me better than the concept 2. I’m afraid about the noise. Don’t know what to do.. thank you for your videos!
Thanks for the video.. Have a few questions: how is the seat? Can you use the monitor for TH-cam or netflix? Habe the viking pro and the foot Position is the one thing i dont like..
I live in the UK so can only buy the City Row Go Classic, but that’s okay I have an iPad Pro. I love the monorail and flexibility / position of the footplate. But I really would like the video game type competitive programmes on the Ergatta platform, so is it possible to retrofit with Ergatta, or is there other apps that are similar? Many thanks in advance 😁⭐️ PS Started watching your videos in the summer and was on the precipice of buying a WaterRower, but the footplate positioning held me back. So glad for this new video, I have finally found my rower, all thanks to you bud 👍😊
Can resistance be varied in a water rower without changing the water level? And does water need to be changed often? I picture the tank getting kind of scuzzy like in a dehumidifier..
Most have found no need to change the water level once they find their sweet spot (adding water is easier than removing so unless you're already a strong rower, start at a little lower water level then add when ready). If you have a partner or family member who needs very little water and you want max, I'd just have them row slightly slower which causes less resistance. It's less a big deal than people imagine before trying it out. No the water as far as I know may never need to be changed. You just use distilled water the first time $5.00 worth) and add a tiny chlorine tablet every 6 months (3 months if you live in hot sunny tropical area and it's in direct sunlight). The tablets are free for a lifetime if I'm remembering correctly. The benefits of feeling and hearing the water FAR outweigh these small "issues."
@@videogeek55 good to know! I checked out other models from WaterRower. The Xeno Muller edition looks like a great candidate to upgrade to Ergatta as well due to ergonomics of a wider handle and lower foot position.
Im still looking for something where i can watch a movie or youtube video and see my metrics.. Right now i use the mini monitor for mrtrics and have my ipad on it... But this one here doesnt have a monitor in sense of just metrics right? You need to go to the app for that.. Arghh this thing looks nice but i dont want this just in app stuff..

It is A1 adopted. Buying again I would go for Waterrower A1 and smartrow.
