The irony of being a parent is that it's your sole job to prepare your kids to be resilient and strong before you leave this world, I try to impart that every day to my kids. The heartbreak is that when they can walk away, you know you've done your job right.

Thank you, my friend. You can rest assured, I will never over act. Too many people will be able to tell, and I am far from fake. I just can't fake it...I would be too obvious. And I wouldn't want to. Music means too much to me.

This is such a beautiful song .. 💔As James B is not seen as cool 😎 enough ... some ppl give it a thumbs down without even listening to it .... Now to the reaction channels...I can,t be bothered with fake reaction videos . For a start you can,t like everything ! I have yet to see one where someone says . No I didn't like it which sadly reminds me . The money behind it all . There are several channels now that only play requests from people giving presents or money . What about the subscribers who have been around from the beginning but can,t afford to send $ . Anyway I am not getting at you personally... I Just found your channel as I need to do some un subscribing and find channels who treat everyone (with or without money equal ) 🌍✌

The heart from that album is nothing you've seen. Take my word on this.. his dad.. Blunt Snr. Is doing well. They both served in the same rank in the Royal army. Man, it's perfectly OK to cry when you watch things like this, there's no shame involved, in fact, reactions like yours bring us all together because we share those emotions, especially when it comes to our own parents and the acceptance of theirs and our own mortality. This is such a beautiful and powerful video and we can all see how hard it was for James to make it. God bless him and thank God his dad is OK now having received the transplant he so desperately needed. Our parents and our children are all so precious to us and it's heartbreaking to think we may have to face situations like this, but love is eternal and indestructible and that's what always have to cling on to.

The pain never ends you just learn to deal with it. And now lucky for me my beautiful little girl was born july 30th 2018 and has given me strength to get thru those hard days. Dad i miss you everyday and i talk about you to my daughter all the time. Your memories will never fade. I love you dad

This is so old I’m sorry. But I didn’t have the privilege of saying goodbye to my dad. He drowned while I was at school when I was 15. And you said “it doesn’t get better you just get used to it” I’ve been saying that for so long… that hit me so hard when you said it. It’s been years now.. but here I am still crying over my dad. I just wish he was here. I hope you’re doing well!

I'm so very sorry for the loss of your Beloved Father. I'm using my other half tablet. My baby sister was battling pancreatic cancer! We were driving to California from Waukegan, Illinois. Our first 15 hour drive we had our first stop of long drive. We went out to get dinner my phone was left at our hotel room charging. Came back a lot of messages and phone rang. My Mama told me Our Mooshie just past. My Mama said just before her last breath she Smiled. I missed that last smile the next 2 1/2 days drive was the worst but my other half was my rock. My other sister was on a flight from Juneau Alaska she received the news she was by herself. She was there a few hours late. I was days away. Didn't mean to take away your loss. Thank you so much for listening JoAnn Sigby. And FUCK CANCER! While battling cancer. Again Thank you for listening

nearing 3 years ago I lost my father to leukemia. I was at his side through a few days of ICU to hospice, every time I told him "I love you" he would reply instantly no matter how weak "I love you too Hu-bud"....his name for me. He had no strength to be able to really be aware of anything, but my wife later said she never saw anything like it. I got a chance before it was to late to say I was proud to be his son and he said the same of me and I recorded it audibly. This song hits me hard as well, it is straight from the heart.

😢😢😢 wow...I lost my dad in 2020 to colon cancer and this song takes me back to the last few weeks of his life. Holding his hand and singing to him while he slept. He was my best friend. If you have your father... give him his flowers and love him like crazy. Take pictures and videos. Hug him like crazy. Kiss him on the forehead and do everything you can for him.

I only learned about this song thru American Idol with Iam Tongi' audition. Earlier today I saw James Blunt performed it live with Iam. Sobbing throughout the performance, including me. My dad passed away 3years ago and I said those goodbyes to him. 2 hours later, he went with Lord. That's why all these emotions are relatable. 😪

I was abandoned by my biological dad twice... the first time when I was 2, when my mom and dad got divorced and he left home... And the second time when I was 16, I found out about him and went to meet him, he told me that I wasn't his son anymore so never want to see me again. I never talked about him after that again until I heard the news that he passed away from a heart-attack. But I was lucky that my mom re-married to a yakuza (Japanese mafia) guy and he took care of me and loved me like I was his real son. He was always there in every step of my life and told me how proud he was of me... until he passed away also. He was my real dad to me even though we didn't share the same blood... Birdman, I want you to listen to a song called "He didn't have to be" by Brad Paisley if you haven't yet. That song hit me as much as James' "Monsters".

I feel this one. I'm sorry tp hear about the loss of your father. I lost my dad to cancer in 2015. I didn't get to stop and see him as much as I wanted and a couple days before the weekend I was going to see him I got a call that they had taken him in the ambulance. We lost him that morning. I rushed there. I hope and feel that he heard my mother, sister and me tell him how much we loved him and would miss him and I would make him proud before he was gone. I regret not being more open with my dad. We were both stubborn reserved men. I make sure to always tell me children I love them and show affection often. I know my dad loved me we just didn't express it vocally very much at all. And yes this song makes me ugly cry every time I hear it.

Yep... My Dad passed away from cancer 4 months ago. I feel so honored and blessed and happy that I was able to take care of him during his final days. I fed him and bathed him and cleaned him up... It was extraordinarily hard work, but I wouldn't trade a single second of that time I had with him. I wish I could have been sitting with him and holding his hand as he passed away, but he died in his sleep during the night... but that's ok... we said to each other what we wanted to say and he knew exactly how much I love him and I know how much he loved me. So, I can definitely relate to this song.
