This VA voiced Yoshikage Kira, Sebastian Michaelis, Joey Wheeler, Keanu Reeves and Ewan McGregor. Every time I have to look up some character because the voice sounds SO FAMILIAR I somehow SOMEHOW end up back to Toshiyuki Morikawa.

You may prefer Shinada's (and frankly his voice is the only thing his character has going for him) but everyone sings this song competently. Specifically Kiryu, who has a great dark tone for rock music and can really grit his voice when need be. Surely you can't have all of that in mind when saying that Shinada is the *only* competent singer.

Those who said otherwise are not familiar with Jrock. Just like some Western ppl who cook egg fried rice by washing cooked rice over tap water and frying rice in pan over low heat. For ppl who dont grow up eating fried rice, there is nothing wrong with washing cooked rice over tap water. Similarly, there are ppl who won't get this topic no matter what. They will still think itz all about preference - and no, there's no correct way to sing or cook rice. For such ppl, I think it's pointless to converse anymore since our worldview can never be reconciled. Rock has always prioritized wild and expressive high pitch vocals, and for a good reason. This is not to say Kiryu cant sing - he can sing ballads well - but Shinada's rendition of THIS particular song is a clear-cut winner.

As it stands, I do actually prefer Shinada's version, but it's harsh and somewhat elitist to say that his version is "the only good one" when his version has flaws and strengths, just like everyone else's.
