    Great video! I have the same bike except the 2014 model. The kickstand is great though…it locks. You can park it pointing downhill, in first gear and it’s not going nowhere!

    That is what I love about my Beemer windshield... up or down at the push of a button. Where it really pays off is when you are riding during the summer and run into one of those summer showers. You just run the windshield up for complete protection from the storm, and then back down to get some breeze again after it passes.
    I hope that all is well with you... Call me for the next ride. I am right down here in NLR... I would love to tag along and to meet you and the crew.
    GOD BLESS you and your's, brother!

    Excellent video. Good info! I'm getting ready to purchase a 2016 Ultra Limited with less than 3K miles. My last Ultra Limited was a 2012. I've had a few bikes since then but just can't stop thinking about my UL You did a great job especially the part about the water pump fix. I do my own wrenching so thanks for the great info. I hope to have mine within the next couple weeks. RIDE ON!!

    Fear not the sidestand issue. It does look spooky because it seems to want to roll forward. There’s a very pronounced and we’ll designed detent built into it. Put it on the stand and then push the bike forward with the weight of the bike on it. It will go backwards a couple inches and then hold like a mofo. I have the 14 model. Fantastic bikes. I did a ton of research and decided to find a clean 14-16 just to get the twin cam twin cooled 103HO.

      I think 14-16 are the only reliable bikes Harley made, lol.

    I have a 17 CVO Ultra Limited with the 114 twin cooled. Love the bike!!! I found it last year at a dealer and it only had 5046 miles on it, not even broke in really! I did put a cam in it and a newly designed oil pump to get rid of the sumping problems these bike experience, the 17's and 18's. I did punch out the catalytic converter, don't tell anyone, and it got rid of a bunch of heat! I wish they would have put a oil pressure gauge on the instrument panel, that's my only complaint on them. The 17 doesn't have the oil pressure listed on the info screen either. Nice bike, I like the color, it's different, and I like different!

    Nice video. I have the identical bike- a 2015, same color. I had the same concerns about the kickstand....until my son pointed out that when it is extended out, its locked and can't fold up. It does have some play in it, sometimes allowing the bike to roll or shift a little, but it can't fold up and let the bike fall. I had to get down on the ground to see what he was referring to, but he was right. It is locked in the down position, until you push it in with your foot.

      Glad to know that. I was worried about that as well. Is it the same for the center stand?

      @@AirstripBumI’m not sure. My bike only had a side stand.

    I had the 2010 96” Ultra Classic before being knocked off it and subsequently scrapped last year. It did everything I wanted except being a bit gutless at highway speeds. With speed restrictions and radar cameras, high speeds are not what I crave for anyway.
    So, this last of the 103” TC’s looks a good buy considering everybody is stepping up to M8.

    Love the bike looking at getting one for touring this year. Quick one have you rode the 114 version of this bike? unsure wether it’s worth the extra money to go for a 2020 model or stick to a minted condition 2016 103 like yours

    hi, i just found your video, i am trying to decide which Harley to get i am ready to buy as far as money goes so its about which one, i have road a Vulcan 800 classic for 6 years and its getting old and breaking down more but mostly i don't trust it to go out of town ib it anymore, so i always wanted a Harley like. wide glide but im older 51 so i looking at the street glide, road glide, ultra-classic models. but i have watched a few videos like yours and it may just be me, but it seems like they have a lot of problems or things that just pop up that cost a lot to get them fixed? or is it just that you're explaining everything over 75k miles total? great video just wondering about the reliability of the Harleys? thanks

    • @shooter-vx7xy
      @shooter-vx7xy  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Great question and one that you'll get a ton of different opinions on.
      In my experience, Harleys are not nearly as reliable as the Japanese bikes. They're reliable enough to stay in business and reliable enough that people take them on long trips every year, but they just don't have that "maintain it and forget about it" reliability that a Yamaha/Suzuki/Yamaha/Honda would have.
      I'm actually surprised that your Vulcan is giving you issues.
      If you wanna stick with a Harley, the bikes you mentioned are good. I'd also suggest you look at the Heritage, too. It can tour but it's also a lot lighter and easier to ride. More fun, too!
      If you want another Japanese bike, Yamaha and Kawi make great cruisers. The Venture and Voyager are awesome.
      I've had a Goldwing and they're also amazing, but I wouldn't suggest getting an older one because even basic maintenance is a nightmare on them due to all the bodywork.
      But, in summary... Yes, you're gonna see a lot more videos on Harleys getting rebuilt. Watch Kevin Baxter's videos. He's got a great channel and I love watching him work, but you'll also see him rebuilding brand new Milwaukee Eights and low-mile Twin Cams.
      There's a reason for that.

    hey there, i am looking at the same bike in two tone red, im around 6ft tall i wanted to ask do you think you feel like it sits low or anything ? and does it have a lot of vibration ? or is that normal?

    • @shooter-vx7xy
      @shooter-vx7xy  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      It sits low enough. I'm 6'2". Yes, it vibrates but only when sitting still. It's normal.

    My water pump stopped working on a huge long haul trip rolled into a dealer said replace he said it will be ok ride it home. I did 5000 km later got home replaced it with a M8 pump no more issues.

    • @shooter-vx7xy
      @shooter-vx7xy  10 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Yeah, the M8 is supposed to be a lot better. And it's kind of a debate online whether it's okay or not to ride with a bad pump. But if they told you to, then rock on! Haha

      @@shooter-vx7xy thanks for the quick reply! I’ve been thinking about picking one of these up and I was hoping I’d have somewhere to leave my helmet. I’ve heard some of the newer Harleys have a feature with the alarm where it’ll actually text you if your bike starts moving without the key, is that the case on this bike?
