  • In this video, we look at how Startup Funding works! We make a comprehensive overview of diverse Startup funding methods! Whether you're in the idea stage or beyond, there's a way for you.
    We go through 8 Funding Methods so that we understand their Pros, Cons, as well as the ideal stages for each funding type. We cover:
    Bootstrapping: Use personal savings and revenue, like 37Signals with Basecamp.
    Venture Studios: In-house startup creation.
    Incubators/Accelerators: Like Y-Combinator and 500 Startups.
    Angels & Venture Capital: Traditional investment paths.
    Equity Crowdfunding: Raise from online platforms like Seedrs and Republic.
    Product Crowdfunding: Offer products/rewards on platforms like Kickstarter.
    Loans: Borrow and grow. These are different for every stage.
    Government Subsidies: Leverage government grants for early stages.
    And even a combination of these!

    Your comprehensive overview of various startup funding options is incredibly valuable. It's evident you have extensive experience in this field. Can you share a personal anecdote about a specific funding method you found particularly effective or challenging in your own entrepreneurial journey? 🚀

      Thanks, one thing I will mention is that getting an industry investor on board can be hard. In the way that if you're used to traditional venture funding an industry player has a very different mindset.

    Great advice as always. One thing to consider is the type of startup, for example making a high-tech AI medical device vs. a 'simple' mobile app. It doesn't matter how much discipline you use (read: eating noodle soup or rugbrod every lunch) it's always going to cost more 'upfront'. Thanks for these videos

    Good video. I'm in a bit of a chicken and egg stage with my startup; it's a B2B SaaS product, but we need to develop it. However, to develop it, we need a small investment. But to get a small investment, we need a product. Kind of a dilemma.

    You are wrong about your bootstrapping “classification” 🫣
    First of all the stages uses VC names so they are not a objectively good fit outside of that world. They are not really meaningful to many of the cases you talk about.
    But you make it sound like bootstrapping is for small companies and classify Mailchimp and Atlassian as “seed” companies 😬

    • @RawStartup
      @RawStartup  9 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Thanks this is a very good point. Mailchimp and Atlassian are obviously not early stage companies. I would consider them almost out of classification, they went through their entire life Bootstrapped and that is incredibly impressive. I would say Bootstrapped is more typical in the early stages.

    • @thedesigner388
      @thedesigner388 19 วันที่ผ่านมา

      Bootstrapping is for rich people or people with access to rich people. There are no exceptions!
