(I'm talking about the comics as well.) Speaking of Canary, however, (still in regards to my opinion that first names sound bad as a surnames), I think they would have done with giving her "Vance" as her surname, instead of "Lance". Or "Lancer", which is even better.
Her sonic scream is on occasion too powerful that’s why. At close range, it could end up killing someone or if she screams with too much intensity it could also kill them. In her fight with Fire when she was mind controlled, Black Canary almost ended up killing her. And when her and Green Arrow were trying to help Black Cat and fight off all of those supervillains. She said that she can’t use the sonic scream at such close range otherwise it would kill all of them.
