MGS2 Substance - Harrier, European Extreme, Socom Only -

A meme Harrier run where you can only damage the Harrier using the Socom. Other people have done this in the past, so I thought I would give it a try too. This fight is not as hard as it looks in terms of skill, but it requires a lot of endurance and patience. Also, there's a small chance that the safety spot for the Harrier's missile barrage doesn't work and you get hit, resulting in a game over. The pastebin below has some notes I used during the fight. The fight can be done significantly faster if you equip the infinity wig for ammo.

I once beat the Harrier without the Stinger on Very Easy and with infinite ammo. Back then I thought no one would be insane enough to do this on a much harder difficulty without infinite ammo. But bruh...

Would be insane if you unlocked a hidden interaction or cutscene if you take way too long in this fight, which normally never happens. Even my aging dad who still plays MGS2(he introduced it to us 20 years ago) clears it at a reasonable speed even at Extreme/Euro Ex.
E.g. Snake pulling out a second Stinger to provide support. Solidus bombing the bridge to cause an unavoidable game over. More codecs not yet seen. Possibilities are endless.
But with the age of datamining it wouldve been discovered a long time ago.

This is something I've always wanted to attempt, but never had the patience to pull off for. The closest I've gotten is beating it Socom-only on Normal and with the Infinity Wig, mind you. GG!

Not only did i have no idea you could even damage the harrier with weapons besides explosives, i didnt know Solidus had specific voice lines for if you try to do it. Neat

I thought surely no one else had done this fight without using the Stinger or RGB6 on European Extreme, and then I watch some of your videos and run into this... Nevermind! 😂
This is taking it to such a level that there is no next level from this. Insanely well played! I had no idea Snake actually threw you ammo for other weapons than the Stinger too, but I do now!

iirc the game will just give you the Stinger when you meet Snake in Arsenal Gear.
