      @@haninereguieg6490 I recommend going early to avoid the long line to get into the park itself. Plus, if you get there early, you'll have parking and be able to make the most of your time!

    Thank you for sharing your camping trip to Yosemite ❤ I live in Silicon Valley and have never been even though it’s so close and I’m already 71. I loved your cinematography. It really felt like I was there with you. The food looked so good like going to a restaurant. Very clever way to cook hamburgers on the camp fire pit, so creative. It looks like you had a super fun time and are really experienced campers. ❤

    Amazing video, i was wondering what tent you used over the picnic table and also what wipes you used to clean your equipment? did you encounter and bears or mountain lions, and if so how did you handle them? thank you and if u answer i would be truly appreciated. Im going in may this year and camping so any tips would be appreciated.

    • @iriswoohoo
      @iriswoohoo  11 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Hi! We used the coleman 10x10 screened canopy for the picnic table: www.coleman.com/tents-canopies/canopies-shelters/
      And we used kirkland wet wipes/baby wipes to wipe down things that couldn’t be submerged in water (like the stove).
      We didn’t encounter bears or lions this time around but we have seen bears in the campsite at other parks. We carry a bear horn and bear spray - make lots of noise and keep your food locked away!
      My biggest tip for camping is to get a really good sleeping bag and sleeping mat / mattress. The first time I went camping, I had nooo idea it would get so cold at night and that the ground would be so uncomfortable when using only a thin pad. Lesson learned :p
      You’re going to have a wonderful time - enjoy!!

      My boyfriend and I just started dating and wanted to go camping for spring break which is April 1-5. Yosemite upper pines was our top choice and we are just starting out camping and was not aware that I would be booked months in advance so we were upset about that and we’re just going to settle for another place that’s not as cool. I did some research and found an app called Campflare that notifies you when certain campgrounds open up. I got 1 notification that upper pibes opened up and immediately went to reserve it. I was putting in my info and it got booked up by someone else asap. Literally 10 mins later, another cancellation and I immediately tried to book it and it worked!!! We’re so excited for our first camping trip!

    • @iriswoohoo
      @iriswoohoo  5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Hi! the starting point is the Mist Trail. Then you just keep going up 3 miles (4.8 km) round trip to Vernal Fall, and if you want to get to the very top, it's 7 miles (11 km) round trip to Nevada Fall. It's basically one long trail up, there are signs and you won't miss it!

      Yup, I just added some links to the description for easy reference:
      Motion sensored headlamps (I actually do not recommend these -- they're very sensitive, but I guess it's good if you are doing activities like exploring caves, cooking, etc. I was kinda annoyed by how often I accidentally triggered them): amzn.to/4cf06Nj
      Coleman 10x10 Mesh Tent (MUST HAVE for preventing bugs while you're eating and prepping food, but I recommend getting an even bigger one for additional room to roam): amzn.to/4cyYjCo

      @@iriswoohoo I tried to reserve a campsite from one of the 13-campsite . I am kind of not clear of the special requirement such as for daily and weekend only park entrance advance reservation requirement . If I successfully reserve a campsite , do I still also need to reserve a park entrance reservation ? I know everyone has to pay for park entrance unless they are special . What I meant is that if I have already reserved a campsite , do I still need to reserve a park entrance separately since the difference is that I will stay at the park overnight while other that does not camp eventually has to leave at the end of the day . Thanks .

    • @iriswoohoo
      @iriswoohoo  5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@intheworkscamp-inrv1147 Hi - no you don't need park entrance advance reservation if you already have a campsite reservation. Having a campsite reservation is a golden ticket for entry :) You DO have to pay for park entrance as an additional fee though -- you pay when you arrive at the tollbooth. I think it's like $30 per car.

    How did you do a walk-in to get this campsite or did you reserve it? What time of the year is this?

    • @iriswoohoo
      @iriswoohoo  9 หลายเดือนก่อน

      You’d have to reserve it months in advance. Unfortunately yosemite campsites are very competitive to grab. There are some “first come first serve” campsites but that depends on the month you’re arriving. For example: www.nps.gov/yose/planyourvisit/camp4.htm
      We went during July which is peak camping season.
