FOAMIE & BUCKETS: season 1 episode 117. I have been wearing the Nike Air Jordan 1 for almost 5 years! This is the update! What are the pros and the cons? After wearing Jordan 1s for 32 years

not really... my jordan 1 soles are seperating (the right toe area) really oddly. like oddly that it's literally seperating in the inside, hard to explain... yet to be frank, they ain't built like a tank.
on a side note, what are bulit like tanks and that is the original fashion trend/sneakers are the vans slip-ons. no need to worry about creases, laces being snipped by your psycho horny ex-girlfriend, you let them age anyway you want, and the list can go on with this sneaker itself.

You dont deserve them if you dont like creasing...
They feel better with insoles added to them, if you get thick ones, you have to take out the insoles that came with the sneakers out, I just did this with my 1s and they feel great. Also another tip, if you have a pair that's a size up from your foot, you can add a thinner insole and leave the one that came with the shoe in for extra padding, it works well for comfort as you walk. The only problem I have with the 1s is the bottom can wear out pretty fast in the heel area, I guess it depends on how your foot pronates when you walk or run

Amir Wright, place a insole that's true to the size of the sneaker (try a thick one with an arch in it, you should be okay. if not, try taking out the insole that came with the shoe and put the thick one with the arch (you can buy various ones at places like CVS, Walgreens, or you local supermarkets)in it.

I think J1s are comfy. They're not the most comfy. I wouldnt wear them to walk super far in but a few miles of walking isn't bad.
I find js so comfortable I never understand when people say they think they’re not comfy

until the insole flat out... since jordan want his feet to be low on the ground... and it a busketball shoe so i never made to be last long...

#1 shoe of all time for me. If I had to give up the collection and got to keep one it would be that one. Well maybe the 2016 so it would last a little longer. But still. Goes with anything.
I'm going on ten years with mine. I actually prefer the 2013 over the 2016. They have been reglued and reglued again, but they still live and I'm wearing them right now.
2013 1s have real leather all around. 2016 pairs and up use two different kinds and more synthetic panels

Got I like going back to this video just to remind myself how to wear a pair of J1 breds no matter how much they are going for right now…my pair of 2016’s got one of it’s heel support in the sock liner that snapped in half …was feeling down until I rewatched this vid 😮💨
I've been using the 2013 Breds for a couple of weeks, I've bought them from my cousin who's been wearing them since 2015, and they're pristine looking. I LOVE THEM.

I love Jordan 1s, 3s, and 4s, but the Jordan 1s are definitely my most worn and beat up pairs in my collection. Case in point, I’ve worn my 2016 Bred 1s ALOT, I’ve also worn my 2017 Royal 1’s ALOT. Those have always been my go to sneakers even for travelling to other countries. I LOVE Jordan 1s.
How are they now?
The Jordan 1 is easily my favorite show all time. I remember being a kid, not even into sneakers, and then boom I saw the 1’s. Where it all started. I always double up on the Classic colorways! No way you can hate this shoe. Shout out to y’all for dropping great content as well

Agree with everything here man! I usually rotate my kicks like one shoe for one week. I have about 10 pairs I do that too so makes it doable..most worn that I go back to like 2 a month is my Jordan Futures. The Bred colorway from the first releases. Just comfortable like crazy!
Just got my first ever pair of Jordan 1s today. Couldn’t cop the ones I liked on Nike.com and there was deep despair. But I walked past a sneaker store in Johannesburg today and lo and behold, there they were. Jordan 1 Mid Premiums in the Light Bone/Sail colour way. So very, very stoked to have them. In major heart right now.

Why do ppl say 1s are uncomfortable? I have blue chills and black toes, and theyre one of the most comfy shoe i own. They fit like a glove for me..
I have my daily drivers Jordan 1 in the blue/black and white colorway going on to 7 years. I just modified my inner sole for comfort by putting in a construction grade sole and that's it. I clean it up and it still looks good enough to compare to Jordan 1's sold today. Only thing is the toe uppers have some creases, but in the blue color it is hard to notice unless you pick it up and stare at it from an inch away from your eyes. But if you are looking for jordans to use as daily drivers the 1's are the one !!! Today the mids are under 100 bucks so that's cool. I might pick up the dark red gym colorway, that looks fire.
I got about 200 pair of shoes, and 40-50 of them are Jordan 1's. Lol. I love em man!!!!! Classic TINGS!!!! LMFAO. Keep up the good work Foamie and Buckets!!!!!

What surprises me is the minimal wear on the outsole. There is no chance with the amount of walking I do, to have any sneaker last most than 2 years of nearly everyday use.

Jordan ones are my favorite sneaker of all time, hands down. The design, the paneling, the versatility and durability of the shoe is just awesome to me. When I think of sneakers the first shoe that comes to mind is either a Jordan 1 or running shoe. I can relate to you and Buckets a lot though in the sense that if I was to get a bred one (my grail) no matter the year of release, I’d wear it everyday into the ground and look the other way when it comes to wearing another shoe.

2020 and now 44yoa bought my first J1, which were the OFF white UNC and next pair LA UN Black Toe....now I’m broke! I wear the black toes every weekend and love how the leather is getting better. I wipe them down every other week and still look new to me after about 6months of wearing 2-3 week. Love the black toes over the Off Whites! 👍🏼

I remember my Air Dunks mid reflective. I wore it for almost everyday (5-6× a week). And still looks good. Though the materials fade due to it wasn't leather but still looks good, durable and classic. Now, it already retired after 7 great years

Asics Gel Lyte V Gore-Tex have been my official dog walking shoe for the past couple of years. I walk my little guy every morning for around 15-30 minutes so that's a lot of miles. I have 2 - 3 pairs of other shoes that I thought would replace these things but they have YET to bottom out. Having the Gore-Tex upper allows me to walk in the rain and through puddles and STILL these shoes take the beating and come up on top!

The con is not really a con, because you can just add in a comfortable insole and its good. I added in a memory foam type insole in my 2016 Bred Jordan 1s and my 2017 Royal 1s, and that helps alot.
It's so true that J1 are kind of uncomfortable at first but they just keep breaking in better every day.
I just jumped on the Jordan 1 train recently, but I feel the same way about my beat vans sk8-hi’s. They’re tanks and they look dope when they’re distressed and worn in.

Jordan 1 is my favorite sneaker ever. Period. I think they are pretty comfortable, but then again all of mine are made with the softer leather.

If we go back the last 5 years then I would have to say the Air Max 90 is my most worn sneaker but if we go back the last 2 years then the Air Jordan 1 is the most worn sneaker that I have wore.
Putting an extra insole in AJ1s makes them so much more comfy. I do it and it’s awesome
Al Jordan Brand should do is restomod the cushioning with PG6 cushioning.. will make it wearable beyond the current 2 hours max😅 it's like walking on board

Nike quality makes a difference as well. I rotate my kicks often enough that they actually add more to the life of the shoes. I have had Nike pairs (they're not even the expensive ones) from the late 90's and they are still alive to this day. One of them is my Nike GTX in the Cream/Canvas colorway (I believe they are SB). So my sneakers last me close to 2 DECADES.

Foamie! 1s are crazy comfortable. I think that’s why it has the character that it has. The reason they look so good beat up is because they can be rocked everyday and end up looking better after wearing em a lot
Continental 80s look better when worn as well, still haven't cleaned mine since i got them but they look nice still
And the best part is that maybe in a couple years when the sole rips because of the use, you just need to get a random Jordan 1 with red soles, do the swap and with some red and black paint you get a FRESH pair

They already did it with the Jordan 1 Alpha (Zoom Air), and the Flyknit Jordan 1s have a more padded insole and air in the heel.

Have a pair of HUB Kingston Black the first one they made I think 11 years old and still wearing them today.
Only con is the shoelaces don't hold.
HUGE pro is they are much, much nicer now than when I got them 11 years ago.
i wore my toro 4 for the past 5 years. It companied my whole high school career. Saw it during the middle school but at that time it cost too high for me. However feel great I have it during my life time.
My most worn is a pair of standard black and white suede Nike Dunks from foot locker, shoes are great for commuting and the suede has became soft and frayed, they look amazing!
Been wearing my white cement 3s since 2010 and they look so much better over time.
I picked up a drop in full length zoom/cushlon insole from a pair of converse and put those in my shadow 1's. Laced up they can ball now, casually they are super comfortable and creased up they look great!

Ive been wearing my 2001 bred for almost 8 years now... creased up leather faded swoosh (cause they are suede) and yellow sole makes them so much more better.

Yup the Jordan 1 is as durable as they come. I rocked the socks off of my black varsity 6's & fire red 3's, paint chips and cracks and all.
That's is why I'm such a sneaker head, because when I was a teenager I kept a pair of white n grey TNT Vans for 6 years mostly because the comfort but also the memories I had with them
Black lance mountain 1s.. Iv literally worn the leather off of them. Iv retired them now and they just look pretty on my shelf.. still got a DS white pair il start wearing 1 day
I beat the hell out of my military Blue 4s. It’s the 06 pair but I got them DS in 2013. 5 years later, I still rock them lmao no midsole cracking as you would expect.
