This is actually a very rare video of a Pelagos LHD that captures the aesthetics of that watch perfectly and that makes me want to buy one - something that I did almost two years ago, thankfully. 😅😊 The LHD is a beautifully understated allrounder.
I gotta say- there’s something about your take on the LHD Pelly (and watches in general) that’s simply down to earth and refreshing. Not snobbery, but an obvious appreciation for the artistry, specs and utility of the time piece. You’re about pleasing yourself (if you will) and not appeasing others. Keep up the reviews man- great job every time!
In the last 3 years I went through around 50 watches of all sort of brands. Bought, wore and moved on. In April this year I also sold my LHD... but this morning, I bought it back again. The Pelagos LHD in my opinion will be a classic and it is one of the few references that truly distinguishes the contemporary Tudor brand.
I’ve had my LHD for about 4 years, and it’s all I wear. I’m a lefty and a diver, too. I bought a beautiful leather strap and a canvas strap for it. Love all the combinations. I’m not a collector, but wanted one single high quality watch from a company that made in house movements. The Pelagius ticked the boxes. Yes, I agree about the helium escape valve and the 500 meter water proofness. A bit over the top!
Fantastic review! I absolutely adore my LHD .What makes it unique is its special touches , the crown being in the opposite side ( I'm right handed as well) , the roulette date, the cream colour indicies and the individual numbering of the watch on the case back. Its once piece that would never leave my collection.
I've owned the blue one for about 2.5 years and I always flirt with the idea of selling it, only to fall back in love with it again right before I go to list it somewhere. There's just not much out there that's this good in terms of fit, finish, cool design language, overbuilt, great lume, etc...I do a lot of winter outdoor activities, like sub-freezing camping, mountaineering, and big mountain skiing, and this watch has become one of my go-to watches for that season because it's so damn tough and legible in all lighting conditions. I guess it's stuck with me at this point.
Watched your review on the Omega Ploprof a couple years ago, went out the next day and bought one. Watched your review on when you bought your Pelagos and now this follow up video a couple weeks ago, next day went out and bought one. Love your videos and love my two titanium babies!!!
Every time I want a new watch I come to your channel to see if you've reviewed it. Almost always, you have and I am even more convinced I need that particular watch after finishing your video. Damn you. Also awesome tip with the eraser. I never would have thought of that.
I've had my Pelagos LHD for 6 months now and I adore it! I'm also right-handed and I totally agree that wearing an LHD on the left wrist feels more natural and is definitely more comfortable.
i have a 6inch wrist, not really like a big watch, but the Pelagos changed my mind, reaching 2 years in possession, and that’s a watch that I always wanted to wear it, that kind of watch that as you mentioned in the video. it’s truly weird that I love it so much than I thought, and last until today
Never had the Tudor Pelagos LHD on my list. It’s too large according to the measurements on the paper. until I tried it at the AD. Since then I wear it almost every day and it’s pure fun of titanium on the wrist (6.75“). Just ❤ it and it became the center piece of my collection 👍. Oh and I wear it on the left hand and totally ❤ it’s weird - and it has the nicer dial and writing 😉
I was looking for an LHD watch, being left handed. But holy cow you've opened up a world of possibilities for me, I like the "crown facing in" idea more and more!
Dude, I turned on notifications for your channel waiting on the 6-month review 😅 I actually found your first LHD review a few months back and your story in this video is very similar to my journey. It’s the most expensive watch I own but it’s so good it’s become my daily. Matter of fact, I downsized my collection bc the LHD pushed all of my other watches out of the rotation. 2 months in and I still love everything about it! Enjoy man!
Hi mate, got my LHD and bit disappointed about the clasp plus the diver’s extension, I’ve cheaper watches with much better clasp’s 😳! Those small adjustments are way to close then the spring option dugs in my skin a lot for a 5 k watch in my opinion it’s absolutely insane !!! Have some micro brand watches with quick adjustment on the fly that put this “high quality “ looks like cheap fake bracelets! Had the Tudor BB 58 Heritage less expensive don’t care about the on fly bla bla but it’s so much nicer didn’t bought the BB54/58 the 39 mm case such a nice beautiful watch but as I’ve got fewer blue dial’s should bought the blue one absolutely 💯 nicer and slimmer watch ! But that’s life like the watch very hard to install the rubber strap don’t want to scratch it a lot shame on Tudor such a nice watch and … all that said I do like slightly bigger watch case than a 39 mm all that said bracelet it’s very uncomfortable my opinion!
It does the trick man even 3 M scotch Brit 😂 use an old one , I’m bit disappointed about this Titanium grade 2 plus the bracelet have other Swiss watches much better fit and hard to catch lots of scratches on a 2 week watch! Even my Citizen Eco-Drive with more than 20 years it’s much harder Titanium 🤨 even Zelos cheap Honk Kong have better clasp and titanium For 5 k watch shame on than had the BB58 steel version it’s a must of watch! All best guys
I recently bought a secondhand black dial Pelagos 42 and love it. It's the sort of watch you look at and know it's quality, but doesn't draw attention to itself. In the six weeks or so I've owned it no one has noticed it which I actually like! I agree with the comments regarding the straps not being easy to swap over if you don't have the right tool, and the rubber strap which I constantly wear could be more flexible. Maybe I'll get the strap removal tool and start looking at other options.
I have had all sorts of tool watches, I keep coming back to the (blue) Pelagos and mm300. I really want a LHD model but just can’t find the place for it…maybe one day. Great video as always.
The roulette date wheel was first conceived when cyclops dates weren’t a thing so it was easier to make out the date. The every other day element also helped indicate if it was your ‘ration day’ potentially as another use case
Great watch and review. I am a lefty and love wearing right handed watches because of the crown position. I don't like left handed watches because of the crown digging into my wrist, but that's the least of my worries. Love the Pelagos watches. They are fantastic and I had the blue version for a while but sold it as it was just too blue. I look forward to seeing what they come out with next. It's been a while since they changed the original model, but would welcome a thinner profile and maybe a new color.
I loved both reviews on the LHD. I've wanted this watch for some time; however, I'm at a standstill. When I looked at the price, at first, I was sold, and for the better part, I still am. I then came across the Christopher Ward C60 Elite 1000, and my feet froze on the Tudor purchase. I still want it, but when I look at the Ward, the only thing it lacks vs the Pelagos is the power reserve and the left-hand dial. The ward is $2150.00, and the LHD is $6250.00 CAN. Am I paying $4000.00 for the Tudor name, or am I overthinking this logic? Your insight would be great on this. Thanks
Damn you! I’ve been on the fence for one of these for a long time. You just confirmed all of the thoughts of this watch. I had a regular Black one loved it, but the crown digging into my wrist made it stay on the watch box.
In your first LHD review video, you promised you would do a long term review. I remember clearly because I watched that video a couple times, debating whether I should get an LHD or not. (I eventually did not) You also made a comparison video of the pelagos 39 vs LHD a few months back. I thought that was your pseudo long-term review. I enjoyed that video too. But you stayed true to your promise and delivered on a long-term review. This might have finally convinced me to get the LHD. Thank you and screw you hahaha
I appreciate the Pelagos for what it is, but I prefer my bb58 as it's easier to dress up with a leather strap. What you said about LHD makes so much sense. Looks aside (which can be debated), the ergonomics of LHD makes perfect sense for right handed people and vice versa. This makes me want one...
Thank you Evan, for explaining very concisely and clearly, probably better than I could, watch worn on the left arm should have its crown on the left side. I've been saying this for a while myself, we actually have our crown locations for watches backwards.
Thanks for the review! I have been thinking of adding the LHD to my 'standard' Pelagos. But I am concerned because I've sent it back twice to have the bezel markings replaced (pieces have fallen out). Anyway, love the watch and would absolutely wear it on my left hand, 8" wrist!
the lhd is certainly more difficult to get hold of new and it just looks better than the standard 42mm pelagos. its different and i love the red touches on the dial.
I totally understand your feelings about the Tudor. I bought a Oris cherry red last year. For me, that's my Tudor LHD. I have ten other watches in my collection. I think my other watches have received a week's worth of wrist time since getting my Oris. It's just THE watch for me. I'm seriously thinking about selling all my other watches. Why? Well, I know that when the day comes that I've fallen out of live with it; I won't want to go back to any of my other watches. It will be time to move on.
I wear mine 3 days a week in rotation and it’s made my Omega SeaMaster 300 find a new home. In fact it’s so good I’m going after all of the Pelagos. Cheers!!!
Great review and thx for the continued good wrk. Methinx left hand drive is super fun, though I now wear my watches on my rt wrist due to an njury to my left. Anywho (hate that word), congrats on growing ur channel and sharing ur impressions and knowledge. I 2 am a resident of the rose city ( the boom has faded, but hey we need rain) and am also a Tudor fan. Recently I acquired a BB54. If you would like to borrow it for review, I would gladly loan it 2 you. Not sure how to proceed from here, but if ur nterested, let’s make it happen. (I’ve a problem with vowels, fyi). Cheers!
Tudor Black Bay owner who's left handed, I wear mine on my right wrist and it def is more comfortable without the crown digging into the top of your hand. I've tried wearing it on my left wrist before and that's the first thing I noticed was the crown.
Wowww nice tip !!! Already had lots of scratches and not wear it at hard core situations! Bit disappointed had a Squale Master titanium grade 5 almost zero scratches 😮! Half price but love my Pelagos LHD awesome have the BB58 heritage, tried other Tudor models went to the LHD love the cream indexes and mate dial awesome watch, don’t like the clasp rather Tudor give some half links , plus the bracelet removal it’s pain !!! Now every time I want change it need to go to AD where I’ve bought it always leave with something else 😊
I'm amazed at that rubber trick! That's the second thing I learned from you in a year, first thing was your wrist size which is: (Sqrt3+2i)(sqrt3-2i) Great video, thank you 👍🏼
Yeah, I like Big Watches I can't lie...😅. I can empathize with the confort around your wrist and of having a big yet lightweight watch without the crown digging in the hand, a supreme experience. I got a couple of Lefthanded watchs in my watch journey and somehow they make sense, the first was a 55mm chronograph and I thought it was intentionally design that way to avoid the crown and pushers digging into my hand, I missed that one. Thank you for the video.
By far my favorite. The comfort of the titanium in all weather conditions. Something about it. Leaves the Rolex, omega, etc at home. Def the most worn. Maybe the Yachtmaster titanium would replace it? But that's if I can get one at retail.
Great review Evan, as always. As I said on IG, I really loved it from the first sight and especially when I tried it on (this LHD version) a couple of years ago. And I wish they had kept for the new 39mm Pelagos the main features that defy the bigger brother such as the matte dial/bezel and that awesome tridimensional inner ring that plays oh so well with the indexes. But, they did not, unfortunately, as Tudor turned the 39 version a bit too posh for me (I don't particularly enjoy the sunray-finish dials nor polished bezel).
Does anyone know the chemistry regarding the pen eraser on the bracelet? I think there is an oxide coating on the titanium that forms when exposed to air and the eraser helps remove this coating. Is it also removing some of the titanium over time? I just wonder about long term effects of "constantly" touching it up haha.
Finally a real POV that resonates with my off the beat and path desire to acquire the 42 sized Pelagos over the more mainstream 39! Now I need to decide if I want the LHD or Blue 42. The 39 is nice but it’s lost some of its design character especially in the dial.
This is not the priciest watch in my collection but is my favorite and most used. It has the authority without the pomp. I also use it to dive . I wish Tudor updates it with the knurling and crown design found in the Pelagos 39 (just my personal taste)
The pelagos is an amazing watch, altho I own the regular 42, I do see a point in wearing an lhd on the left wrist. Perhaps this is why the pelagos crown is small, to prevent it digging in but that's the only down side I found in mine. I love large crowns with a good grip, it would have been the ultimate tool watch if it had a larger crown.
Good day, gentlemen. I’m curious: as an owner myself of an LHD and with it being a “divers” timepiece. What is the most HOSTILE environment you’d be willing to venture with this watch? I only ask because while mechanical divers are known for being “tough” watches- they’re no G-Shock or digital watch. That and….I once DROPPED (4ft onto marble floor) this fella and the rotor dislodged. Sent it to my AD for repair, but it got me thinking nonetheless.
That's an interesting observation about watch sizes in Europe. It reminds me of a Longines CEO review where he said the move to smaller sizes is not a global phenomenon. As for the LHD, I've tried one on once. I think the left hand crown sadly broke my brain. My only real issue is I don't care for that creamy lume. It looks decidedly vintage on what otherwise seems like a modern design. I do LOVE the red text and alternating red date. They really should have that on the regular Pelagos black dial too.
If it is not a global phenomenon , then it’s a thing in Europe / US ? Or maybe Asians never liked big watches in the first place hence the “trend” has never moved for such countries ? Haha
@@RedwoodAggie from what I know , 41 and 42 confirmed we are not interested. 38, 39 and 40 are what we want . 37 doesn’t seem to work. Nobody wants the social media hyped Tudor bb54 , this is less in demand than 41 or 42 . At the end of the day, if u know style and fashion, you know what’s best suits you. All the hype works for minority or temporarily only
On divers for the military, for example the Sinn Mission Timers that are used in the German Special Forces, all things that aren't necessary to see at first glance are red. Critical information is white which is more dominant to the eye than red. Hence making things red on the display aids visibility, especially on missions. On a side note: all those military grade divers have the crown at the left side ;) This LHD Tudor is a serious piece of equipment, considering Tudor cooperates with the French Navy.
I’ve tried to buy a Pelagos three times. Every time I’ve been put off by the dial looking cramped (too much text), and the top heavy design. I like larger watches (have a collection of Panerais) but the dimensions of the Pelagos just feel odd - it stands really proud on the wrist - even more so than a 44mm panerai sub
Had mine for 6 years probably still my fav. Same 7" magical wrist size, I keep it on the left, and the right is dominant hand. High five. I am hoping for a v2: same everything (please no gloss, no sunburst), just thinner, and thinner I'd like also the titanium bracelet. Rubber strap could also look a bit smarter. Easy removable bracelet/straps yes please, because when this becomes just "the one" watch, you want at least to dress it up for the workweek, or down for the outdoorsy weekend.
Great review man, as always. The Pelagos is such an extraordinary ordinary timepiece 👌🏼 I know it sounds weird but it is true. I owned the black 42, 39, and now the FXD which is my favorite by far. One ask - could you review the Bvlgari Bvlgari with the rubber strap? Such a fun watch which doesn’t get any attention
Here’s the reason I would buy an LHD…because it’s fucking cool looking! In a fun slightly goofy way. It also, seemingly fits the watch look wayyy better than something like the GMT Master 2 LHD model which is just plain weird.
Love my blue Pelagos - it's been on 5 continents, deployments, lots of dives, and other excursions. One of my absolute favorite watches!
Mine has literally been inside a v"gina

The LHD is a beautifully understated allrounder.
I gotta say- there’s something about your take on the LHD Pelly (and watches in general) that’s simply down to earth and refreshing. Thanks

Love the video man! I live in my Pelagos LHD, GA2100 and Explorer 36mm. It’s so nice seeing other LHD owners enjoying theirs.
Swiss or Chinese? I like the Swiss version, but not sure the price is justified.

The most impressive part of this video was the pen eraser taking out that scratch! 🤯 (Always appreciate your sarcastic humor and your content.)

A very beautifull piece. Size is perfect taking in consideration the lack of weight of titanium. Make a nice balance.

I'm amazed at that rubber trick! That's the second thing I learned from you in a year, first thing was your wrist size which is: (Sqrt3+2i)(sqrt3-2i)
Great video, thank you 👍🏼
Spoiler on a Honda Fit made me laugh out loud. I had one of these and traded it. Really dumb and I totally miss it. Glad you are enjoying it.
Nice Seiko SKX at the opener.
Well said, il mio amico.
I love this watch! I just put the rubber strap on it and have been taking it to the beach any chance I get.
Great video of a great watch.
Great review! Somehow your review made me think you'd get a kick out of a PAM 177 or 176. Panerai charm/size, titanium weighted comfort.
I own a PAM 111 and love it.
Lovely watch!
Ive had mine 3 months amazing watch. I did try the fxd ehich was amazing and the 39 on at same time and that felt too small .im a right-hander too
I agree on everything and i love my Pelagos FXD
Finally a real POV that resonates with my off the beat and path desire to acquire the 42 sized Pelagos over the more mainstream 39! Now I need to decide if I want the LHD or Blue 42. The 39 is nice but it’s lost some of its design character especially in the dial.
This is not the priciest watch in my collection but is my favorite and most used. It has the authority without the pomp. I also use it to dive . I wish Tudor updates it with the knurling and crown design found in the Pelagos 39 (just my personal taste)
Just bought the rubber (as we sat in uk) genius
The pelagos is an amazing watch, altho I own the regular 42, I do see a point in wearing an lhd on the left wrist. Perhaps this is why the pelagos crown is small, to prevent it digging in but that's the only down side I found in mine. I love large crowns with a good grip, it would have been the ultimate tool watch if it had a larger crown.
I do like my Black Pelagos, it is quality with it's crisp clear dial 👍 Au
Wasn't Pelagos 42 grade 5 Ti ?
Another fine video, as always. Non opiniated , only talking about the watches and our insecurities.
I love my LHD represent!
I wish you shared your wrist size in the video , would help greatly
Haha
@@Akj6zmdteuxze He specifically called out Asia as not moving smaller. This was last year though, so who knows in 2023.
All the hype works for minority or temporarily only
Best watch reviewer on the internet. Is that the Japanese whiskey talking? Well, maybe. But it's still true.
As a lefty, this one's on my short list of "maybe someday" watches.
Are we not using our pitchforks anymore? Mine is collecting dust in the garage next to my other snap militia fighting stuffs. Pitchforks! Amirite?
On divers for the military, for example the Sinn Mission Timers that are used in the German Special Forces, all things that aren't necessary to see at first glance are red. Critical information is white which is more dominant to the eye than red. Hence making things red on the display aids visibility, especially on missions. On a side note: all those military grade divers have the crown at the left side ;) This LHD Tudor is a serious piece of equipment, considering Tudor cooperates with the French Navy.
I like your denim jacket. Mind sharing where you get it ?
From a company called Nau, but they stopped making it years ago.
I love my blue Pelagos!
I'm sold!
I’ve lurked in darker places than this on the interwebs 😎.
Great watch btw.
I've owned one for three years. Still loving it. Way more unique than a boring black Submariner.
At least the LHD helium escape valve doesn't stick out of the watch like a certain other dive watch
Spotted the SKX013 on the wrist 👀
Hah! Hawk eye!
You have the cutest pinky.
You should see what I can do with it.
How ate the lime plots
Here’s the reason I would buy an LHD…because it’s fucking cool looking! In a fun slightly goofy way. It also, seemingly fits the watch look wayyy better than something like the GMT Master 2 LHD model which is just plain weird.
