As a parent I want to tell other parents you can only live one life and that is yours. You can only raise a child once and when they become adults their life belong to them and the good Lord.
You cannot choose who your children love. It’s being narcissistic. You chose your soul love and they are entitled to choose theirs. Love is color, religious, and traditions blind.
*I taught my children to love from the inside out not the outside in.*
I love my blended family, the good , bad, and the challenges that life brings.
Life is short and then you die. Don’t use false control over adult children.
If you do you would drive them away and miss the best part of the rest of your life with family.
*God help us all to love beyond the outward flesh, Amen.*

Love and death is color blind and can careless about traditions of men. When death comes for you your high mindedness doesn’t matter if its your time. Likewise when love touches the heart nothing matters and two souls become one. Love is not a culture it is a verb meaning it all about actions.

While I dont disagree with you , in Asian society marrying someone who fits into the family is of paramount importance. I know some who didnt , they became isolated from family and in the long run were resentful that their spouse always stuck out like a sore thumb. In some cases the spouse would challenge and disagree with some norms that some one of their own race would accept. This often led to breakdowns in marriages.

I'm so happy for her and her happy marriage. Most Burmese guys marry Korean girls during their studies abroad and when bringing them home to live in Myanmar, most couldn't last the marriage because their mothers-in-law were too strict. Most guys were left with kids on their own.

But Myanmar girls did even worse. They have you as a husband while having others at the same time. Besides, the Myanmar men frown on their women being with foreigners. It's not worth even trying for such people, don't go through all that shitty treatment and sacrifices just to be accepted. Frankly speaking I have seen foreigners who didn't gave a shit about the pressure from Koreans and they didn't learn the language just to please them but still were respectful and they at least have their dignity left and got about the same treatment as others who tried.

He is the eldest son so technically his son is to carry on the bloodline. Most of these Asian cultures just don't believe in mixing and are very traditional. However today's society across the world are becoming more diverse and are loving who they want regardless of race, shape, culture, or color. I wish them happiness.

Altough we are a mosaic in terms of ethnic blending, we have our own culture and social demands.

    • @coffeepandacat

In asia, some cultures tend to be very conservative and have high expectations. Korea is like this. It's not that they don't see value as a human as a foreigner, it's just they are used to and expect their children to marry Koreans. It's very hard to impress asian in-laws as a foreigner. Also multicultural relationships tend to be very challenging and asian parents know about this. Anyone can fall in love, but cultural barriers are more difficult to overcome than a lot realize. However this is different for places like the Philippines where it may be more like Brazil and more welcoming.
