Songs on this show are performed largely according to the designs of musical directors, arrangers, and producers. It wasn't Morissette's (or any performer's) call to "give" others room to shine. Also, it's okay to dislike someone's approach or style, but to say that Jessica "struggled all the way" and sounded "vocally poor" next to Morissette is sheer nonsense. Being haughty and presumptuous at the expense of common sense isn't a good look for Morissette's fans.

Jessica has been successful & her hit song have been mistaken for other singers. She recently dropped some new music. I hate these talent shows having duets with very little time to practice. Jessica has participated as a judge on the Idol franchise in the Philippines. She was invited to sing a song of Prince’s Memorial at his place. She has gained international ⭐️ stardom especially in the Pacific Rim Countries.
Morissette is good and I am a big fan of her but better check more of Jessica Sanchez as well.😊 U can try checking her performances in American Idol. Also jessica's "Filipino Kareoke go to song medley", with other filipino artists.
I have to agree with roarkarlsen1584's comment. There was a lack of emotion and it sounded like a competition. There are no doubts about Mori's vocal abilities, but this was not one of her best performances. 10:13 So when can we hear your duet with Morissette? 🙂

You don't understand Jessica's full vocal powers well enough if you think she was trying to "compete" with Morissette. This was toned down by her standards. Whenever she sings with Filipino divas, she always tones it down, making simpler choices than usual and often taking the lower harmonies. Also, at the time of this performance, a lot of Filipinos felt it was Morissette who was trying to outsing Jessica, who was a rare guest on the show.
