The backwards fan 😂😂😂 Topher you are awesome! I love that her physical commitment to this medley matches the vocals! Also this thing is LONG the STAMINA! Love Mori Mondays on your channel! 💙💙
Her transitions 🔥. From a modal register, then offsetting a note with an airy falsetto with precise vibrato. Exquisite technique. 3:05. Her dynamic range is crazy. The gospel squall is executed so tastefully, and again, her shifting from modal register to that airy falsetto offset, with lovely vibrato 3:34. The perfectly executed glissando 🔥 starting at 9:14! She is killing me softly with these Gospel squalls and riffs at 9:24. Her middle range (mid-belts) is so powerful for a full soprano, with a lot of forward ping. Just feel that power, starting at 4:06, and she does it again at 6:18. The great Beyonce, I believe, is a mezzo soprano, with natural ease on the low to mid belts. Morissette, being a full soprano, is ridiculous for handling a mezzo range. The depth of her low range, for a full soprano, is insane, as seen here 8:07, and again here 8:17. I just wish the audio was better. Not an easy thing to cover Queen Bey. Not easy! She nailed it. She's already a complete, powerhouse vocalist for someone so young. Thank you, Topher, for shining the spotlight on such a talent. Your analysis is spot on!
What an incredible performance! Morissette could really pass for a black girl when you think about it. Vocally I mean. My only issue is isn't "sweet love" an Anita baker song ?
Lol, I looked it up after the watching. This is a Medley that Beyoncé has performed in concert, and as part of the medley, she does Sweet Love. So it’s not Beyoncé’s song, but Mori’s covering the arrangement of the medley is what Beyoncé originally did
@@TopherReacts Yes, ofc you are absolutely correct its almost an exact duplicate of the Vegas Show im aware, and again, i always wonder why its called a Beyonce Medley when even Bey did the Anita Baker track, lol, kinda strange right?? should be re-named to a "Beybaker Medley'! lol, But besides all that Topher, I couldn't agree with you more on all the commentary about this amazing Performance, from the Comment about Jessica doing it on Idol, which i think will be hard for ANYBODY to beat, that was just...one of those "wow moments" To the "Sweet Dreams just seems kinda "ho-hum" for Mori, her Power and Range were sitting that one out, (as the song calls for) To the "some of the runs in D.I L. being kinda...weel..ehhh..ok, whatever, and a couple of missed lyrics here and there, which as always puzzled me for years, i dont believe i have ever got a understanding of that, but as far as the Order of Preference goes, you are dead on the money and agree for the same reasons. Anyway, Thanks for this one Topher and cant wait to see what choices we get for next weeks MM!! Later, Peace and...GO MORI!!! SPPM.
Hi, Rosanna! Black vocalists, especially the Gospel singers (i.e. Lashun Pace, Karen Clark) and those who came from the Gospel tradition and went into Jazz, Soul, R&B (i.e. Ella Fitzgerald, Whitney Houston, Aretha Franklin) --- are the best vocalists of all time. Morissette is so good because her technique is adopted from those "old school" black vocalists. You don't get to often hear this "standard" of singing (i.e. technique, vocal range, dynamic range) today. Beyonce is definitely one of them old school vocalists, but with new school flair. Morissette is just a beast of a vocalist. A beast. Thanks, Topher, for another great analysis!
are u sure you're not youtube itself... u're all around the corner.... hHahah anyways maybe u'll be noticed somehow... could u tell topher to react to Katrina Velarde doin the same piece of beyonce medley

I believe Morissette is using the Beyoncé Wynn Las Vegas background music so it’s not really a live band.
