There are plenty of other places to stay at Sun Moon Lake but we decided on this one for its timeless ambience and a more resort-like feel! The service is standard for these hotels, starting right before you get out of the car. Its design is minimal yet warm and inviting. I also really enjoyed the floor-to-ceiling windows that bring in so much natural light.
Every villa includes a lounge, a courtyard with a private 12-meter pool, and an outdoor dining pavilion. Most regular rooms face the lake, but for ours, you really only see it if you stand at a certain spot. On booking websites, there is no lake view option if you want a room with a personal pool, which they stated was for privacy purposes. The price per night is relatively the same throughout the years whether it's high or low tourist season. You can expect the total to be from 1,200 to 1,400 CAD a night for our room. I'd recommend it if you would like to splurge a bit during your stay, otherwise there are honestly many cheaper options nearby for still a nice experience.
Staycations in Taiwan are perfect date ideas with so many of them being unique in its own way. As we get older, we can do the enjoyable things we wanted to when we were younger by ourselves, like booking a hotel anytime and ordering room service while wearing our robes! Next time I visit this area I hope it is not raining so I can bike around~
