It’s not a gated private community. It’s a community. They obviously didn’t do research about the actual community, Kitsons vision. There is so much land to do so much.
It’s Fox News. Not even a dim star. Pathetically driving fear and anger without ever doing their homework. They should delete this video for misinformation.
I imagine that real estate in Florida has become expensive. Florida has a population of 21 million people. Florida's population was 10 million in 1980. There are more people living in Florida than in the state of New York. New York's population is less than 20 million.
Unfortunately this type of thing is very very common in Florida oftentimes people are under the impression that their backyard is a natural reserve protected by the state. Unfortunately all it is the Builder giving you a story that is nothing more than a huge lie. Never ever take anyone's word for it always have it in writing and have that writing notarized and verified by the city or county. Always always do your due diligence and make sure that your property is properly surveyed to know exactly where your property lines exist. And contact zoning to find out if anything else is zoned to go behind or around your house or dwelling. No matter what Builder you're dealing with. There are even places like the community called The Fountains in in West Lake Worth through Lennar builders those people actually paid extra money to be put on a golf course to have a view of a golf course as well as Lakes. And we're paying large amounts of money monthly to their Association. However just recently the golf course and the lakes were bought out by another developer and now is developing brand new condos. So now the people in The Fountains development do not have that spectacular view but yet are still paying for it. Again always get everything in writing never take anyone's word for it. No matter how honest or friendly they may seem at the time. Even well-known Builders like Lennar lie through their teeth to sell you. Known as bait and switch.
In Aliso Viejo, south Orange County, high rent now, the builder sold View Opportunity Lots at a premium, and 5 years later built 10 and 15 story office buildings there.
Many mistakes made. #1. Dealt with a builders 'Sales Representative" #2. Did not engage a buyers representative, an agent preferably one who is REALTOR. #3 Did not engage a real estate attorney that has experience in the community and County. #4 Signed documents before reviewing the entire document package. Most large communities such as Babcock Ranch, River Hall, Lakewood Ranch and the Villages, the rules and documents are like reading, interpreting and comprehending every verse in the Old Testament
The absolute definition of first world problems.
That thumbnail is awesome, I bet she’s thrilled to see it...

Rich people problems
@HQU 200k will get you a dump
You must live in your momma's basement to think a $200,000 house is the typical rich person's house.
You would think a survey should have been done & in hand before closing on the home.
Hurricane Ida was a game changer. Syd Kitson's vision hopefully can be duplicated and revised into the future. 💜
Go After Lennar not Babcock!!!!
Haha 2 years later none of the people in this video live in Babcock Ranch anymore
My friend is moving there.. Now what??

One good hurricane and they won't be upset about not having waterfront property anymore.
Just build concrete. It won't break.
It survived hurricane Ian. They still have power and are sheltering people from other communities. Your comment didn't age well.
It did survive IAN they have power, so like it or NOT SOLAR WORKED!
WOW!!!
Stupidity has a price. All education is expensive. "Buyer beware. Do you own research."
wow they got scammed
looks like some people should be counting their blessings
well, at least living there after Hurricane Ian, she still has a house....
The builder will squeeze in some tiny homes back there....chaching
Law suits.
