i can't ever understand how actors don't risk to fall in love when they take this scene, their moviments, their eyes their smile are so unique and real that i could see my skin breezing. They are really professionals, its not so simple to be so real and at the same time don't fall in love with the respective actor of the other size.

Never heard of this show until last week. I saw The Hobbit and had a crush on Kili which is Aidan Turner. I just binge watched 4 seasons of Poldark in 6 days. I’m on the last season now!!! I’ve missed out but by tomorrow evening when I finish all 5 seasons, I know withdrawals will be inevitable.

You can’t beat british costume drama.....! I kinda wish I was living in those times sometimes.....🤯🤯🤯🤯🤯🤓🤓🤓🤓🤓🤓🤓
They’re awesome, but it’s a romanticized view. Life, for the vast majority of people, was brutal and often very short. Even Ross and Demelza lose a child to a now curable illness, something very common until fairly recently, with the widespread use of vaccines and antibiotics. My grandpa’s only sister died when he was ten, only about 80 years ago. My first baby and I would have died in childbirth, even now it took an emergency c-section to save us both. I LOVE period dramas, I love to get lost in their atmosphere and beauty, but I’m thankful I was born when I was. Now is truly the best time to be alive, crazy as it is.
The gorgeous Aidan Turner what a hunk even now its 2020 I'm in awe of him and adore him just as much as I did when he acted so brilliantly as Ross Poldark.😘💘💕

As much as I *loved* them there’s something about them that has always made me sad and depressed after I watched. Always watched with a sense of unease and my heart in my throat waiting for the next shoe to drop. The moments of unalloyed happiness were so brief and fleeting amongst the angst. Seems like Ross was always off saving the world and taking Demelza for granted and we never really got a break from that dynamic in 5 seasons.
Very well put, just how felt and why I couldn’t finish the series!
Read the books. You will enjoy them more.

Poldark was written by Winston Graham. I have thoroughly enjoyed the PBS series but have enjoyed the books as well. There are 12 books in the Poldark series. You won’t regret reading them. The PBS series follows the books closely, except for this last season. I’m going to have to re-read where this season picks up because nothing in season 5 is familiar to me.
That is because season 5 was written as filler for the 20 year cap.

I agree! The books hold the true characters of Ross and Demelza. The books also make Ross so much more likable and you understand his decisions better.

There are times you want to smack ross but they teach us about how marriage suppose to be despite the whole obstacle, both had their past love that constantly being a shadow in their life, there is jealousy, anger, suspicious, etc but their love for each other always stronger that they couldnt live without each other, compromise but not taking it for granted, idk how to explain but yeah

Trouble with that, is the series was based on books by Winston Graham, and so to do a 6th series, would me Debbie who adapted the series from the books, would need to contiue the series by written it herself, as tge 5th season brought the books to an end.

Thanks for posting this. I am a die hard Poldark fan. Your talk on the series was welcomed.
My problem was with 1. Book 2. Series how it was written and how it was portrayed ( what exactly was so great about this 1st love? ) . I am aware of 1st love. However I have not had the opportunity to witness or feel this type of 1st love. I have family and friends that have married after 1st love.and about 1/3rd of them have survived until death do us part. I have survived 40 years of marriage ( my husband is deceased) . I have been unable to locate anyone that has witnessed this type of 1st love. I know this is fiction , but humans write fiction ( a world of make believe) .
So I am still asking why the book nor the saga didn’t give us a chapter on this 1st love. Since this terminology was used through out the saga. Winston Graham wrote about everything : earth, wind , fire, wars , peace plus government , etc. I said this to voice my complaint about the books since he is dead and I cannot ask him . The books as a whole , I enjoyed about 80 % of them.
Now for Poldark , I loved at least 95% of 2015 series. I have not seen series 5 as of yet. Will see Starting September 29th, in the USA .
As said before, thanks 🙏 for posting . was hoping that Debbie Horsfield would complete the rest of the books. I look forward to at least a movie. Thanks Eleanor and Aidan and the rest of the actors, etc.

Fact is that most of the Dutch people don't watch, so I don't think there will be more of it on tv. I will buy the dvd's.

It seems that the exsiting bastard is taken for granded. Demeleza is great lady that can tolerate the betray which is very hard even in modern time . I still dont understand what the feeling when they saw that child with Elezaba. This is the most heartbraking point for everyone watching the next season, Poldark is absolutely not good man that make the normal mistake he think.
I like demelsa shes a very patience wife still loving her husband even though she knows his still have feelings for his first love I dont blame her falling in love to another man who s really loves her not taking her for granted

Love Poldark. Just watched again Ross & Demelza are awesome!!! Disappointing season 5. Except for George’s insanity did not like other storylines and the end was so abrupt. Aiden and Eleanor were fantastic.

realizes he might lose her. It wasn't revenge that Demelza seemed it was love ,admiration, and attention something she wasn't getting from Ross but Hugh offered
I guess it was a matter of Ross finally growing up/maturing and coming to grips with his own demons, in order to appreciate and realize how much he loved Demelza.
