      Yes absolutely. The footage really looks inviting. Beautiful coast, coloured houses build on hills and the stunning nature are reason enough to put that on our list! 😄

      @@ExpatEssentialsForItaly We have been in Livorno, Pisa, Civitavecchia, Rome, Napels, Pompeii & Venice. But we definitely would like to do a road trip like we are doing now for a more thorough and perhaps some less touristic exploring.

      It's good that you've seen quite a lot of the country already. Yes, a road trip is a great adventure. A video on Venice and the Veneto region is in the pipeline. Would you like to see anything specific covered in the video?

      @@ExpatEssentialsForItaly Not familiar with Veneto. Venice we did while making a cruise for our honeymoon. We were actually one of the last big ships to be allowed on the canal, so shooting from the top deck overlooking all the islands was an amazing view. Of course the canal and the gondola can’t be left out, the small streets and foods would competent it nicely.

    Liguria has been dominated by Genoa, a beautiful but horrendously-managed city, there is also La Spezia, Imperia and Savona to check out. Liguria has the highest median age in Italy, one of the highest in the world at almost 50.

    • @ExpatEssentialsForItaly
      @ExpatEssentialsForItaly  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Many thanks for sharing. Is there a particular reason for Liguria having the highest median age in Italy, such as the diet or the climate, for example?

    • @kfwfb534
      @kfwfb534 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@ExpatEssentialsForItaly it has been a serious issue since after world war II concluded. A few factors contribute to this phenomenon: industrialisation, the changing of the family unit, the cost of living, government policies--unaffordable child care and high property costs

    • @ExpatEssentialsForItaly
      @ExpatEssentialsForItaly  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      When you refer to Liguria having the "highest median age in Italy, one of the highest in the world at almost 50", I took that to mean a healthy lifestyle based on food consumption, personal wellbeing and fitness, and a general overall healthy outlook, but you're referring to factors that affect the whole of Italy and, for that matter, the rest of the world to varying degrees. Is there anything specific relating to Liguria that makes it stand out from the other Italian regions to make it the region where it can say with some pride that it has "the highest median age in Italy, one of the highest in the world at almost 50"?

    • @kfwfb534
      @kfwfb534 2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@ExpatEssentialsForItaly median age refers to the average of the inhabitants as opposed to life expectancy. Having a median age of almost 50 is quite high and presents problems. But why do people in Liguria live long? A mixed climate--somewhat cold winters and hot summers, good, local food and a reasonably good healthcare system.
