Dungeons and Dragons is a role-playing game in which a group of players create and play out the activities of characters within a fantasy world. This world is controlled by another player, the Dungeon Master, who arbitrates actions and provides challenges and circumstances for the players to interact with. - เกม
i love that "halfing" idea, just imagine being in the middle of a fight with the big bad and you just go "wait what if im just a human"
That flashback moment where it all clicks. And he levels up
You do realize that's the plot of Elf, right?
@@Maninawig aw god thats even funnier
Big Zac Obama "Am I... my own dad?..." energy.
@@Maninawigor the idea of Carrot Ironfoundersson from Terry Pratchett's discworld
Mermaid artificer that makes a water mech to stay moist while on land, like a reverse divers suit
I like this
I was thinking of My Bride is a Mermaid.
That would just be the soldiers from Aquaman th-cam.com/video/dBi3y4w3oAY/w-d-xo.htmlsi=MymMg-ldc3CbF_Z-
@@mifigor1935 Why do they need suits and not other people? You could argue that Aquaman could survive without a suit being half human but Aquaman's half-brother didn't need it.
@@zachtwilightwindwaker596 well it was explained in the movie that the royal family can breathe on both land and the ocean but peasants can't
I really like the tall halfling concept. Human adopted by a halfling family but never told he was human. He may even know he was adopted. Slowly as he adventures he realizes he's human.
He literally is just Buddy the Elf in D&D
@@thefakentpope3749 Or Carrot from Discworld.
@@thefakentpope3749 I was literally just about to say
Wouldn't he be a wholeling
Po the dragon warrior
Plot twist the vampires dentures are on the bedside table he just left home without them and has been at home so long after he left he forgot how tf to get home and wtf home looks like so your just trying to help an old man find his house 😂
Even better than the original idea! 😂 THOSE are real heroes.
Reminds me of the dude who named his Khajiit in Skyrim "Tiger Septim"
Killed me with this one 😂
I already played a Kahjiit run in Skyrim...
It was my first game of Skyrim ever...
I was playing a two-handed heavy class...
*I DO NOT NEED TO DO IT AGAIN...*
I hate to be that person, but what’s the pun in reference to?
The Tiber Septim line of Emperors
@@Mikustan39Tiber Septim (the first of the Septim emperors in Elder Scrolls)
A mimic hive that has grown advanced enough to appear like a sentient creature
So a sleepless?
Uhmm, mimics are already intelligent. They're suppose to act like bandits, not mindless monsters. Mimics are supposed to trap an adventurer and then shake them down for gold.
Greater mimics used to be a thing and they could talk and scheme so there is definitely a basis for it
@@jaxycat A fellow Cosmere nerd!
@ConstantChaos1 so they did change it in 5e making most mimics just predatory beasts. How ever in the cunning hunter entry in their stat block. It states that some are smart enough to negotiate and converse for food.
And the 4 adventures came together to help the immortal, somehow affected by his old age, grandpa vampire to find his dentures. In the process, they burned down 7 villages, obliterated 18 orphanages with kids exclusively named timmy, and started 12 revolutions -9 of which failed but in the remaining 3 the old vamprie somehow got crowned king and now rules them. However, they never found his dentures, so no one can really understand his commands.
If he was old when he was cursed, that might explain why.
I'd like to think he's insanely powerful, but is too focused on finding his dentures to actually do anything, and everything he does is accidental, but simultaneously the only reason they're alive.
Isn't that the plot of 'The Last Hero' but with vampirism?
I have never heard nor seen that book/film but if so it sounds awesome xD@@haleyzwaal4183
Lol he could also be hard of hearing as well
A really big hafling that discovers he's just a human is just Link in ocarina of time
I was thinking Billy from Elf but yk what Link works too
My only pun name so far
Drunken master monk named Jin
the vampire: “this shit ain’t nothing to me man”
Halfling one reminds me of a Dragonborn idea I had where he was hatched and raised by kobolds and told he was just a really big kobold.
35 goblins trench coat
For the mermaid one would it be reasonable for them to cast watery sphere and swim in that like a bubble, but beware of fire or mud that can boil or obscure vision in water respectively, or loss of concentration for fear of fish out of water
See my idea for a bubble of water was a bit weirder but idk if its possible to summon a sentient water ball
@@hey.whataboutme8744 I was originally thinking of a reworked flame sphere but then googled watery sphere on dnd beyond it’s a 4th lvl conjuration spell that floats but if u got a lenient Dm they might give u some leeway
Or make it like a variant of “splash” where the character looks human until getting wet.
Can even be named Daryl or Darryl /Darrel … 😉
Senile vampire is the best I need to play as that omg
I remember playing a Grung Artificer with dual lances riding on my Steel Defender. My Grung's name was Sir Rhosis, of the River.
I love playing merfolk. I talked my DM into letting me turn a cart into a giant fish bowl on wheels, and I would just cast from there.
What if you basically played a mermaid from H2O? So you can be "human" but only for a really limited time without a source of water nearby?
This reminds me of the elf wizard I read about who had a strength of zero, which meant he couldn’t move under his own power. He was carried around by a burly orc, who used him as a weapon that could cast spells on the enemies he hit.
@@squeezyjibbs6643H2O didn't come up with the idea either. It's a part of old legends in various ways
The vampire is on the run from a hunter named Abraham. Run George. Run.
Tree ent martial artist - Spruce Leaf.
Deer Person martial artist - Buck Forest.
Minotaur Wrestler - Zangbeef
Dwarven Bartender - Brews Swilis.
I love all of them.
@@spiker.ortmann three I stole from Viva La Dirt League's DND campaign, three siblings that run a bar. Annie, Lynn and Gus.
@@ArchieNox missed that campaign, I'll have to look it.
@@spiker.ortmann they were in a town of innuendos lol
Brews Swillis 😂
lol is that halfling one just Elf reference?
A warforged bard with a minor healing factor. They'll be a robot with artificial skin that heals rapidly when damaged. As a robot, they would be naturally immune to diseases and poison/venom and be unaffected by specific curses like lycanthropy. To explain the immunity to lycanthropy, they can have a werewolf companion that likes to bite when getting intimate.
I once had a player run a really really stupid Goliath Barbarian that was raised by gnomes and thought he was a gnome his name was shmallz
My sister played a mermaid in an old game she played no to move around she invented a new spell called “mage legs”
That vampire idea was literally the plot of my 4th grade school play lmao
the halfling idea is basically the beginning of elf
Mermaid sorcerer who constantly having to waste one spell slot to give them a bubble around their waste inorder to move around on land
These are all great. I wish my players had this much creativity.
Once I played an unhinged character like this: a kenku war cleric named Russell Crow. He became a pirate after being captured by them, and during the trips with them was converted into the cult of the goddess Nike, and he became obsessed with findings her relics(nike branded equipment). Also he had a pet mouse that was part of the crew and loved to clean, that got him out of a lot of situations.
I literally played it because I was bored and mashed the most ridiculous ideas into one character. Pirate Kenku War Cleric hypebeast worked a lot better than I imagined as a mix.
To list a few things this character accomplished before the run ended prematurely for reasons outside the game: he tamed and kept as a pet a coccatrix; got in the BBEG house by breaking a window while every other PG argued how to do it, sacked the house and came back to take them in; almost singlehandedly did all the damage to the boss in the BBEG's basement(meant to be taken on by the entire party, that did almost nothing apart from the paladin)...
And so many other things that planted this guy straight in my heart. He also managed to had a lot of serious moments of character development, that really made him shine, on top of all the goofyness and chaos that was ultimately the goal of playing him
One of my last character my dm and i homebrewed up a gravity based sorcerer who was like 80 at the start of the campaign and could levitate himself at will. He was always floating around like he was sitting in a chair and started swimming midair if i thought we were wasting time.
I ran the idea of playing a slime whose whole goal is to grow in size by my friend (he'll be the dm for a not serious campaign we'll be playing) we've both agreed to not go into detail about how big the slime grows as the story progresses until its like near the end and something big like a terrasque shows up and the slime just swallows it whole without any issues
so our campaign is fun and whimsical but also can be quite serious and dark, but our party contains a gnomish stonemason named Brick, a bard named Roland Rock, and a wererat named Ratthew
I have a "big halfling" concept. Brahmi Underhill. Halfling by adoption, Firbolg by birth. Would probably live quite long time believing he is just a bit different than everyone in the village (low int character).
dwelf artificer that tries to build a machine gun every chance they get
Perhaps a half giant that's super stealthy. One moment your by yourself the next moment suddenly shaq is standing next to you.
I did the opposite of the Mermaid concept. I was a pyromancer who would literally die if submerged in water.
It made for some pretty intensive scenes
The dentures vampire was from Goosebumps
The halfling idea is similar to my 2ft Dwarf idea that I've played. He's very Dwarf but he's just 2ft tall.
I'm a dm in a new campaign.. all the players made their characters have stupid names😂😭 example could be "chicken man" "Days natz" and no it's not day and night, "boiron git' onfrey"... And some others... At this point theyr just trolling me 😂
At least you don't have to deal with the orc barbarian who uses his name as a battlecry: "Sugon Bofaaaaa!".
Lol atleast😂
But a boiron git' onfrey elver druid that tries to seduce every npc I make😂
Hey, I've got one for you.
Sentinel Feat
War Caster Feat
10ft reach Weapon
Meta Magic: Distant Spell
Any single target spell you want, like Crown of Madness, Hold Monster, Power Word: Kill
Have fun
I liked the idea of a Tortle Bard named Kenny Loggerhead.
I feel like the halfing idea would work best in a setting where, for whatever reason, humans are exponentially rarer than halfings.
I am truly all for drawing heavy inspiration from media but I kind of feel like the halfling one is inspired by the movie Elf.
Mr. Meowgi is the name of my actual cat
The Halfling one is similar to a character I played once.
It was a Halfling Barbarian who believed he was a gnome. He’d taken a hit to the head during a war and gotten amnesia and since then had decided he was part of a big gnome family that all the other players were already a part of. The catch: he was actually a high ranking member of a Royal family that had just been at war with these gnomes, who were the ruling family of the Gnomish country.
I had an idea for one:
A warforged druid
Backstory is that basically a long long time ago this warforged was part of a large battle where it became inoperable. This ancient battle site turns out to be a Genius loci (a living landmass) which imparts a portion of it's powers/self into the warforged body.
For a while it uses the body to explore itself, defending from threats, fostering animal/plant growth, etc until one day it is forced to leave it's own boundaries and explore the greater world, probably due to its greater self being threatened by a bbeg's plans to destroy the world or something.
I can just imagine in any fight the vampire just ask why am i even here all im trying to do is just find my denters and leaves the entire party and enemys confused as to why they left
I just got an idea for a potential character I could create one day. A barbarian dwarf with achondroplasiaphobia (fear of little people) so every time he or she looks in a mirror or sees their reflection they get scared. But they are too dumb to understand that they are a dwarf themselves.
The "large halfling" one sounds similar to a character in Discworld who was a human raised by dwarves.
Or Link raised by kokiris.
Bonus points for Anna Conda if she excels at grappling.
The old vampire at the end of his arc will have to face off against himself in a game of chess to win his dentures
A Fire Genasi gunslinger named “Heller Highwater”
Am I the only one who immediately thought of Ripjaws when I heard the mermaid character concept?
The rilly tall halfling is interesting you can even call him buddy like in the movie elf
I thought of the secretly a human halfling one before
Terry Pratchett wrote like 5 books about that Halfling one but he's a Dwarf.
Elmo the necromancer
Elmo summons all the cookies eaten by cookie monster(said in Elmo's voice)
If you have an Arachokra Bard and he DOESN'T use an acordion. He's not a _Real_ Bard
the halfling and dentures ideas are so damn good i might steal them
mermaid concept is already in the game. (locathah and grungs)
Reminds me of Carrot Ironfoundersson
The 6'6 Dwarf (adopted)
From puns to dentures, I loved it all 😂
I've always liked the idea of mermaids transforming to be on land. Has been a part of mermaid stories for about as long as the idea has existed
I’m playing a awakened shrub who is basically groot
I have a 4 foot tall Fairy character ready to go (max height for a Fairy) whose Father was the Human Gardener at the local Monk Temple. Instead of looking Elven like most Fae, he looks like a child version of his Father, and his Ladybug style wings (burn-scarred outer shell with folding wings underneath) hide his ability to actually fly. Everyone who doesn't actually know him thinks he's a short Human/Human child or a Halfling or something like that, and he takes great delight in seeing how long it takes for his team-mates to work out what he really is...
I forget what it's called but there is one superhero RPG where the idea of playing a generally regular guy would be hilarious. His power?
Being so ugly that by removing his mask, anyone who looks at him falls to their knees and vomits. "Oh, your hammer gives you the power of Thor? My FACE gives me the power of Nurgle!"
Once I had the idea to make a Lizardfolk named Salam Anderson.
The last one needs to have a can opener with bleed effect
Constable carrot ironfoundersson...
Hellena Cell and Hanover Fist
The Halfing is literally just the plot of the movie Elf
Those first few are like DnD drag names.
You could wheel the mermaid around in a wheelbarrow
That halfling idea is literally just the plot of Elf...and also The Legend Of Zelda kind of...
The halfling one is just the movie elf with Will Ferrell
i love the last one lol
allow me to present the tiefling sorcerer Fehir Ba'al, you'll never guess his favorite spell
A rouge named Nis Han. Run with it
The halfling idea is just buddy the elf.
Tiefling barbarian/monk named sparky, with fire resistance and all about the grappling and unarmed combat. Go into rage and set myself on fire and grapple and punch all enemies to death while cooking them.
Just wait until my DM hears about my elf char named Ben Sharp earo
'This shit aint nothing to me man'
I played in all paladin anti undead campaign as the aarocokra named Egwin E. GUL and his good buddy Tor'tall the tortel
Tiefling country singer bard called Conway Twitty Glyn. Or Conway T Flynn
That last one is just Vampire Breath
I’m playing Pathfinder, and we are about to do a campaign in an undead empire where divine magic, including the heel spell is banned. I wanted to do a wood kineticist who can use pure life to deal damage sort of like a divine could use and play as a skeleton.
He’s just a skeleton that really wants to be alive . Essentially, he is obsessed with living things, but also vividly remembers his past life and to get over that obsession he became a really intense gardener where he gets to naw on branches, like a creature, would normally chew on jerky
My Aarakokra Monk is named Harvard Biirman, with siblings Yale Oxford and Brown.
My Step Mom agreed to play D&D with me once and her character was a Tabaxi wizard named Meowarly Mittens
The plot of Elf is in this video.
Ive never played DnD, but I enjoy hearing about it and watching DnD content.
If i ever play, i have a character in mind.
A fairly usless human in most regards; except he has the power of meta gaming. He has 3rd wall breaking powers but takes phycic damage based on how hard he breaks the wall.
My husband had the best concept for a character he hasn't got to play (yet) a loaf of bread being constantly carried by a mage hand.
The story goes, a wild magic sorcerer accidentally transfigured himself into a loaf of bread and cannot fix it. He has been constantly using mage hand for so long it doesn't even take concentration anymore, but, if he wants to interact with any objects or talk to any characters he has to conjure another mage hand to do it. 😂 if he needs two hands for a task he has to set himself down first.
I. LOVE. IT! 😂
that last one is pure gold X'D
Those some banger ideas lmao
Here's one of mine a blind barbarian😊😊
I will always love the concept of a human medical guy who thinks he's just really good at conventional medical procedures but turns out he's a necromancer and doesn't know it.
Interesting idea... I think there's a few "medics" around wishing that were their case... 😂
I actually was thinking fae that is so old they're beginning to get dementia symptoms but still in perfect physical health earlier today because of a meme. Also you can pull a "mer on land" if you pull an Ariel/Azul situation and they use magic to transmorph themself into a human that retains some characteristics of their sea creature side as a human. For example Azul's an octopus so people headcanon he has blue blood potentially even as a regular human and gets winded easier than most because it's copper based like that
So Ariel as a Druid? And she has to de-wildshape out of a human form to wildshape into a different form?
The halfling one reminds me of Elf with Will Farrell
There's so much gold here
"Moisturiser me!"
Easy vampire. Dhamphir undead patron warlock. Pact of tome. Aspect of the moon so you never need to sleep. Otherworldly leap for the classic Dracula jump into the scene
He’s totally right. That *is* the one😂
One of the fellow players in my game would have thrown her hands up in the air once the pun characters were nixed.
I made an arracockra monk named Haang, his backstory was the avatar intro
