二人大名　あらすじ
野遊びに出た二人の大名が、太刀を持たせるお供の者を探そうと街道で待っていると、使いに行く男が通りかかったので無理矢理太刀を持たせる。はじめはしぶしぶ従っていた男だが、不意に太刀を抜いて大名たちを脅し、小刀や素袍を取り上げてしまう。男の言うなりになった二人の大名は…。
Two Daimyo ( Original title : Futari Daimyo ) Story
One tranquil spring day, two friends, both daimyo feudal lords, go hiking. Today, the pair are holding their tachi swords that they would usually have their servants carry. They decide that if they happen to see a suitable person passing by, they will get them to carry the swords and make things easier for themselves, and they stop for a short break.Then, a man out on an errand passes by, and the daimyo threaten him and make him hold their swords. At first the man gives in to their authority, but their excessively arrogant behaviour makes him angry. He unsheathes the swords he has been made to carry and begins to threaten the daimyo. The commoner overthrows the ruling class! The daimyo have their clothes taken away and are made to act like dogs, chickens, and even roly-poly toys. It’s an exhilarating performance that makes clear the resentment the common Japanese people felt toward the ruling class at the time.
