Your let's play got me back into rimworld and I'm already on my third colony. One was killed by mega spiders due to making a small prisoner room in a mountain and the second had most of the colony wiped out by a single mortar company. I'm having so much fun.
This game continues to impress, one of the best games ever made in my opinion, the sheer amount of content even without the mods is crazy. Then you add mods into the mix and you have an obscene amount of content.
I know that I am a bad person, but "Punch the iguana" sounded way more dirty than it should. It sounds like those PSA's from the 90's. "Only this year, more than 10 teens needed hospital care by punching the iguana. Parents, if you suspect your kids are punching the iguana. Call this number."
21:18 That part of the diet page that says "plants" is about eating the whole plant. Agave fruit is under vegetarian but does need cooking. Agave plants are completely inedible to most pawns, even if a few grazing animal will happily munch on them, and with genes and races and stuff, who knows?
Use the ancient walker parts as a team building combat exercise. Draft everyone, and have them build shooting skill, instead of using the construction skill, and using up more time.
Can confirm: randy random does give shambling events, as well as stranger danger events - i.e new person joins but is an occultist hiding something or is strangely good at everything
RE: using a mod to enable the deconstruct action on ancient wrecks (around 9:08) it isn't possible to precisely match the time it takes to deconstruct with the time it takes to smash because those times vary, and depend on different variables. Breaking down those chunks with a uranium mace is going to be faster than if the pawn is using a unit of wood. Melee or shooting skill, depending on the tool, may also be a factor. With a mod enabling the deconstruct action, deconstruct speed will depend on construction skill. Trying to scale the times so that the time with low skill matches early weapons and high skill matches a good demolishing weapon doesn't solve "make it take the same time", as construction skill available on game start is randomized, but available weapons is typically fixed by the starting scenario. One way to resolve this balance dilemma is to make deconstructing strictly slower than smashing it with a plasteel knife. Another is to just let the mod make the game easier.

I highly recommend turning off the animal icons in camera+. The zoomed-out, in-game animal icons are super cute

Unfortunately, attacking 'buildings' doesn't build combat skill in any significant way: you're better off hunting :(
