Princess Marina and Prince George were the most luminous couple. And Queen Mary, gave the best jewelry wedding gifts. Queen Anne and Queen Caroline pearl necklaces. I never remember the names. The embroidery work on Princess Elizabeths dress and gown, were so amazing. And Princess Ann was the most beautiful bride.
My mother told me of how glamorous Princess Marina was and the excitement around her wedding. The blue colour she wore was known as Marina blue and everyone wanted to wear it. My mother wore Maria blue hair ribbons.
There is also a mystery attached to Queen Elizabeth's wedding day: the vanishing bouquet. It disappeared between the abbey and the palace, and no one ever owned up to taking it. And no, it wasn't placed on the tomb of the unknown warrior in at the abbey. If you notice the wedding photos, there is no bouquet in any of the group shots. The newlyweds posed for photos again alone a few days later, with a new bouquet. 🇨🇦👍
The bouquet was finally found in a cupboard in Buckingham Palace. Some photographs were taken without the bouquet. A few of those photographs are included in this video. After this, a 'spare' bouquet was always made for royal brides.
Princess Anne's dress had epulates on her shoulders to mirror her husbands uniform. She also continued to use Maureen Baker as a dress designer and maker until Ms. Barkers death
I’ve heard that the fringe tiara Princess Marina wore was a gift from the city of London? There are several kokoshnik fringe tiaras. The tiara was worn by her granddaughter, Lady Gabriella Windsor, when she married. So this isn’t the Russian tiara
Correction here, it was said that people sent ration books to the then Princess Elizabeth for her wedding dress & she sent them all back with a note of thanks. The war was over & she could afford her own dress.

What a nice history of the women and the tiara they wore. I'm the same age as Anne and we married the same year.
Thank you so much
Fabulous video!
