He is one hot streak away from catching up to his contemporaries. Just that one streak! He may have to play more ambitiously and complicate stuff. GO FOR IT NIHAL!!
Enjoyment is so indian word. He was trying to say he wants to have fun and be happy playing rather go down the rabbit hole. I wonder if that is holding him back from going to super GM level. He was the india's highest rated junior in 2019 and one the experts were most optimistic around(back then comps were just with Pragg. Gukesh and Arjun were not that highly rated or visible back then)
When I working with a student, I become completely immersed in his playing style. I learned this from Michael Podgaets who was coach of Anatoly Karpov for decades.
Nihal reminds me of me if I was successful at chess, similar age, similar backgrounds, started chess at the same time, but I got stuck at 1500 since I didn't want to learn (openings, endgames) in depth, but I'm really good at bullet.
I really love this boy since online Olympiad 2020 . nowadays I am worried his form… I think some bully colleague destroyed his confidence... purposively

"Interesting" interview
where is chessbase india?
Refreshing this is THE Chessbase and not Chessbase India. The latter is good but lately it's always been Chessbase India.

He doesn't speak much..
Hard to make an interview like that!!!
I am mom of 5 year. Old, and he is playing chess...how can I give more practice.... I am house wife ,i don't know how to give more practice...
Chess puzzles , focus on teaching tactics . As he is very young maybe few openings. But chess puzzles will give him a good basic..
