My wife and I left London in 2004 where I was working up to 70 hours a week but were still struggling to make ends meet. We sold our house and bought a 1979 6 1/2 ton converted Mercedes Benz truck for 2000 euro and started touring Italy. We soon settled in a small castle just a stone throw away from Castelnuovo Magra (we could see it from our window). After a couple of years the money ran out and a business idea failed, so we lived off the land without money for about 5 years. We finally managed to get a small income taking tourists and expats on wild food forages and wine tours, but it was still tough. In addition my wife has a serious mental health issue, which meant she couldn't learn Italian and had problems integrating, so 2014 we left and returned to Ireland, where she is from. We now have a small holding in the northeast, I'm a leading member of the permaculture movement in Ireland and we are in the process of setting up an eco-village just down the road from us. There were many twists and turns, but it's all looking pretty rosy now.
Oh wow, thank you for sharing your story. A lot of incredible times and hard times too, that must have been tough. We're SUPER interested in getting into permaculture, so I LOVE that you're setting up an eco-village, that's amazing! Soooo pleased it's looking rosy now for you 😍
My husband and I bought some property two years ago and are working towards being able to work full time on our homestead and not have to work off the farm. I’m always trying to come up ideas for funding this lifestyle that doesn’t require two full time jobs. Also I’m really loving your channel and following you and your family in this journey!
Ah yay happy to have you here! Yes not working off the farm is the dream, isn't it? It's definitely possible to fund it without two full time jobs, you can totally do it! Cheering you and your homestead on!!
Loving your channel and outlook, Cori! I’ve been blogging for 7 years and never really gotten anywhere with it - too scared to vlog !!! 😜🤪 My dream life actually looks a lot like your current dream life! We have had a Winnebago Navion since 2016 and our hope is that once hubby retires in 12 years we’ll be able to caravan around the UK and then Europe for a year! Currently on school studying for my real estate license and hoping that at around 47 I’ll finally have figured out what career I want, lol! 😂 My dream life consists of making money from real estate career and investing some into our home and the rest into savings to caravan (hubby’s never been to UK Or Europe and I used to live in England) and then live PT in UK and PT here on California’s Santa Barbara County where we live now/where I am from! Keep the vlogs coming!
LOVE reading about your dream!! And start the vlog, it's so fun once you get over the fears (trust me, I had those!). You're the second person to comment about having a Navion!! Navion crew in this community! Ooh well hit me up for recommendations when you start planning that UK and Europe tour :) Cheering you on! p.s. where in England did you live?
@@CoriLivestheDreamLife that's so great! Nessie The Navion has just been such a brilliant addition to our lives! I lived in Cambridge first, then returned and lived in London! Shepherd's Bush, specifically. I am in the middle of getting my dual citizenship so hoping to eventually invest in a wee cottage in the countryside over there - we're open to where! Thank you SO much for cheering me on!!! You are doing a great job!
Saying "my business funds our travels" is extremely unhelpful. Nowhere do you state what your business is, or what you actually do other than "help clients". You've already mentioned in other videos, in the space of a few seconds, that your "business" bankrolls your travels. If you had no intention of saying what your business is or what you actually do (other than "help clients") then what was the point of a whole 22 min video not-answering the question?
I absolutely love your channel and your outlook on life! Complete inspiration, and I love everything. Cheers to you, and I can't wait to watch your next video. American living in England before moving back to the Upper Peninsula of Michigan. My dream business/ life would be to help people take their old unwanted furniture and turn into something they love once more. I love to turn my passion into inspiration for others. 🤍 Jess
Hi Cori, really enjoying your channel. Setting up a small farm with some animals is so my dream and also want to be a flower farmer, which I am settling up the foundations for it. Fingers crossed that part of the dream comes true. Hope you love it in Ireland, we're a great little country 😊
Oooh a FLOWER farmer? Cool. Cheering you and your dream on, it sounds incredible and I love that you're setting up the foundations for it already. I just KNOW we'll love Ireland so thank you 😍
My dream would be to renovate a ruin in Portugal, where 300 days of the year the sun shines 🌞. With land where i can grow food and chickens 🐔 😀 I feel I'd want to do this with a partner. My daughter has young babies, so I can't really up and go. I run a driving school, which I love ❤️ so I'll most likely end up with land and a tiny home, here in NZ and once I have that, then I will travel 😊❤
My dream was to homestead with my animals (I've had cattle, horses, alpacas, llamas, goats, pigs, chickens) but I hurt my back, now I'm hoping to start Rv life till I can't do it anymore (I'm 63). I plan on taking my 2 dogs, cat, and parrot. Lol 😅
@John316OBrian-cm4fj For a start house prices are pretty good although they did increase quite a bit because of the Covid effect. Also after 5 years it's possible to apply for citizenship to get that prized EU passport. Although Cori home educates the Irish school system is fabulous. Granted the weather can be shite for months and months on end. 7 years in Co Mayo now in mid west France. 😬
So exactly how " much " does it cost on a typical day by day to finance this trip? Even a ballpark figure will do. It's all fine and well to wax on about how great everything is. What's the reality? I mean , for your average Joe or Josephine to quit the rat race , buy a van and take off. You did deliver the caveat , that you are perfectly within your rights to not divulge anything. So what was the point of your video , other than to say , your business finances the trip? Honestly , I don't expect an answer , and if I don't receive one , then my question will have been answered.

Exactly, totally pointless video.

Wow you can sure stretch an answer out.
Answer at 15:47 everyone. You’re welcome oh but you’ll need your own business first no biggie!
@@Shalome_she only says she has a business, but sounds like she’s a success coach.

Why choose Ireland .... weather a problem ?
I can't think why NOT choose Ireland! :)
Leo Varadkar 😂
It's probably because of Brexit ,British people can move to Ireland an EU member with no restrictions but not the rest of the EU
@CoriLivestheDreamLife why not Scotland or anywhere else in the UK, I'm interested to know why Ireland?
