- Despite not being able to Race at the 2022 Assen Superkart Event, was able to still attend and support Matt, a member of the Redspeed Superkart Team. I put together this video to capture the key moments and really showcase what makes a Assen Superkart Event so special. Walking onto the Grid with 60,000 spectators was an unbelievable feeling I'll never forget. This sport is one of the best forms of motorsport out there and we were probably one of the quickest classes from the whole weekend behind the classic F1 Cars. I even got to meet the legend himself, David Coulthard from Redbull Racing.

Whether these are single or twin cylinders, they sound great, especially when multiple just flies by in short intervals
Most are twin cylinders! Some at the back are single 250s

A question if that’s OK Rob. How much downforce do these Karts generate? I see the rear wings, how much do you notice it in the faster corners? Cheers
Makes a huge difference. Even changes by 1 or 2mm can make big difference. When your going 100+ mph into corners aero plays probably the biggest part in the handling of these machines!
They've been different estimates on that, and I don't think there is currently a consensus on this topic (there probably weren't tested in wind tunnel up untill now), hovever in high-downforcw setup they top-up somewhere around 1G (eg. 1:1 downforce to weight) at their top speed.
I met a private Kart driver in 1994 on a monday after a CIK100 race weekend on Jüterbog south of Berlin. I brought my private Kart (Kali 1974 frame with MZ TS150 14hp engine,
4 gears) and had alot of fun with friends.
His Kart had a Zabel 500cc 2-stroke taken from an offroad sidecar bike, 6gears, 70hp, single cyl. ducted exhaust.
This fine Sir accepted my help to get him (alone on track) get started, and he advised me to push his shoulders instead of the upper rim of his seat.
But i felt more confident in pushing his seat just 2 inches below his shoulders, when his engine fired he was like 6 yards away and i ran on four limbs catching me from rolling over.
Wow that was the year I was born! Great to hear these stories about karting!!

From my own experience I can only recommend the Anderson Chassis and VM engine! Perfect combination and incredible speeds!
@@MyRob10 Anderson's site lists 5 different "engine mount", are these the type of mounts or are these the name of the engines themselves? And if it's the latter, how does each engine differ?
I would prefer paddle shift on steering wheel 2 hands on SW always. Is it allowed?
