- Here's the second episode of the much anticipated IndianOil Now Hear Us Digital Concert Series. This episode features the effervescent and supremely talented Carnatic vocalist Brindha Manickavasakan.
She begins her performance with a Muthuswamy Dikshitar kriti in Ragam Nattai called Swaminatha. She goes on to perform beautiful compositions in Ragams Devagandhari, Simhendramadhyama and Punnagavarali that were taught to her by her long-standing guru Vidushi Suguna Varadachari of the famed Musiri Bani.
The highlight of Brindha's performance is "Kadaikkan", a composition by Ramaswami Sivan in Ragam Begada. She closes her recital with a lovely piece in Ragam Durga followed by a Thillana in Poornachandrika composed by Poochi Srinivasa Iyengar.
Brindha is given rock solid accompaniment by her close friends and contemporaries, L Ramakrishnan on violin, the much-in-demand Praveen Sparsh on mridangam and Anirudh Athreya on kanjira.

Very rare to hear the singer playing the tambura and keeping the thalam with her feet. She is effortless in this concert and wish her all the best.

What a blissful music this bunch of young artistes have produced today! Brinda is outstanding. Her Devagandhari brought tears in my eyes.
Her bhava through out the concert has been excellent. Brilliant support from L. Ramakrishnan, Praveen and Anirudh. Short,extremely enjoyable Tani. Begada and Durga were superb. Will cherish this concert for a long time to come!

This takes me to the HO Bandra Canteen-cum-Concert hall as far back as 1990s to the live concert s of the great Bhimsen Joshi, U Sreenivasan.. Nostalgia Nostalgia!!! I still remember U Srinivasan's comment when described the Canteen Hall after finishing his concert there that the sound system there was equal to or better than the Great Albert Hall of London! along with this comment of U Sreenivasan I still cherish the fragrance of Potato Vada, Poorimasala, etc! A great feeling indeed. Some of my colleagues will be feeling the same way. For me IOC was, is and will remain as my guide n bread winner.

I loved the Swaminatha Paripalaya the most! So beautifully done.

The scripting of the "lost in transit" segment at the beginning was somewhat cheesy, with its forced references to the sponsor (Indianoil), but I enjoyed the "cameo appearance" by Vignesh Ishwar walking past the petrol station.
Absolutely loved everything about this video. Loved how all the artists sounded so good together. Needless to say Brindha was flawless!
I thought this performance had a fantastic mix of devotion, complexity, and attention to detail. Thank you everyone for this wonderful masterpiece!

Beautiful and Blissful Singing. !!Very Good Command and Gnanam in the Raga saga singing, Niraval and Swara singing, add to the melodious voice. Super and Enchanting Violin accompaniment and equally Brilliant and Beautiful Mridangam and Ghatam as well. On the whole a Totally Blissful Concert. !!

Wow. Beautiful voice projection , very even in all 3 octaves , especially in upper octaves. Worked well on breath control which is evident. Great speed on Thillana and swarams with clarity. Devagandhari very unique , rendered with full bhavam.
