Great stuff as always ...one thing not too many people are discussing is the Lando going for the fastest lap thing at the end of these races. We've focussed a lot on DOTD, but this is one factor that perhaps could persuade me to keep him rather than the LEC PIA pair I have been considering.
Cheers Mike. That’s a fair point about Lando. I do think there’s a bit of opportunity there for FL, seems like his domination of DOTD appears to have worn off! A good point someone made the other week is that Mercedes have typically found themselves in a situation where they’re behind the front runners but have built enough of a delta in the midfield they can push for it. But seems like McLaren have changed that narrative recently
What about No Negative to keep Logan? With a lower budget it would allow you to make use of the loop hole for one more race and grow budget further with a strong second driver like Leclerc next to Norris.
I didn’t expect this to happen and am crushed for my team. It is recoverable at least but I need to come up with a new plan long term to solidify my team. The Wildcard chip has given me a 2nd chance though. Deciding if I go Triple Premium or go Double but use drivers like Stroll to secure budget to solidify the quality of the Triple Premium drivers will be an interesting decision.
Would you activate wildcard this week, or reposition it with transfers (-10s?) this week? Depends if you think it’s feasible to use wildcard now or roll it out in Singapore to set your team up for the 3x in COTA with that Red Bull team you alluded to last week. Lots to think about!!
I activated the Wildcard pre Sargeant removal already since I realized I couldn’t really think of a plausible scenario where I wouldn’t use it or be forced to right away. The Max team isn’t a priority and likely won’t be accommodated with the Wildcard. Triple Premium is more of a differential now so having the ability to run it long term would have a bigger impact. To even run 3x I would need to fit the top 2 drivers on Triple Premium. Currently leaning with doing 2 premiums since Norris and Leclerc seem important this week and positioning the team for 3 premiums in Singapore. Hopefully Sauber assets don’t go up in price and foil the plan.
The required Sargent transfer makes for a very tricky situation with all my teams. What do you think about the current options for my first team (the asset written in capital letters are transfers): Option 1: Mcl + Mer + Nor + Lec + Alb + Col + BOT - and saving one transfer for the next race! Option 2: Mcl + FER + Nor + PIA + Alb + Col + BOT - this team requires a -10 tough! I originally wanted to get the Fer constructor already in Monza, but I would have had to take a -10. Now I think I should not wait any longer and still have to take a -10 to get there (as with the Sar situation I am 0,1 short of getting there with 2 transfers)!
Ferrari and Piastri vs Mercedes and Leclerc. So in theory essentially LEC SAI PIA -10 vs HAM RUS LEC (or in summary SAI PIA -10 vs HAM RUS). Does Piastri and Sainz outscore Hamilton and Russell by 10 points? I think so but it will be very close. If you think it’s less than 5-10 points extra, probably think about rolling the transfer to attack Singapore!
In my second team I am really unsure what to do - which option would you currently prefer? Option 1: Mcl + Mer + Nor + RUS + Col + Zho + BOT Option 2: Mcl + Mer + LEC + Sai + + Col + Zho + BOT Option 3: Mcl + FER + Nor + HUL + Col + Zho + OCO (with a -10 for an additional transfer!)
I would run the triple McLaren, not just for the points (including possible DOTD and FL) but because they have not had any DNF's yet (if I remember correctly?) making them a safe bet. Also, I think the payoff of having PIA for SAI is worth it, as you also gain HAM/RUS (via Mercedes/Constructor). 3 for the price of 1 so to speak. Only down side is no LEC (either as Driver or via Ferrari/Constructor). For what it's worth there was a BBC Sport article this morning about McLaren going to try and favor Norris and now fight for the championship, but they want to try and do it in the right way. Also it appears that Lando wants to "earn" his wins and there seems to be a more focus on the team as a whole, with potentially fighting next year if need be. Also, don't worry about your rank. It could be worse. Trust me 🤣
Fair points Jay! I think McLaren’s recent streak on fastest lap makes the assets all appealing. I’ll personally be sticking with Ferrari constructor unless Mercedes blow us away with their pace in practice. Yeah I saw the article on team orders at MCL, think that makes Lando a very popular pick for the 2x. As for the rank, I like to joke about it but I’m sure I’ll be able to make up some ground with the 3x on a sprint weekend so not too worried!
Would autopilot be better for a sprint weekend as well…? More points, therefore the 2x goes to that driver? (Does it count for the whole weekend?) can’t remember from 2023
To get out of Sargeant, I can do NOR ALO or PIA RUS. Do you think that Norris is a "must keep" now that McLaren have said that they will favor him for the championship?
Norris as a standalone option is excellent, but Alonso has offered nothing this season in fantasy so I personally think going PIA RUS is much better and put the 2x on Oscar
I totally agree, Joe. The visuals are simple, easy to understand and super helpful. I can’t stand having to delve into all those spreadsheets online ad nauseam, and these videos allow me to avoid doing that.
My f1 fantasy 2025 wish list -if a driver is removed from his seat at any point, he becomes removed from the game and you cannot activate your team for that week until you remove him -if a driver is banned or is injured ect, they become inactive and then are subject to the -25 points that week -reserve drivers come in at the price of driver they are replacing and maybe minus 1 or 2 million. Bearman this year should come in at a “Haas” price and not his Ferrari price -DOTD need to be reduced to 5 points -fastest lap reduced to 5 points -DSQ/not classified reduced down to -15 -price changes that actually make sense lol -driver and contraptions released AFTER testing -
Finally which option do you prefer for my third team: Option 1: Mcl + Mer + Nor + PIA + Hul + Col + ZHO Option 2: Mcl + FER + Nor + Lec + ALB + Col + ZHO (I have to take a -10 for this team tough) If Ferrari look as strong as expected, I probably think the -10 for Option 2 is worth it.
Dilemma: should I go with Russell and Ocon or Piastri and Bottas? Have Norris for the 2x and Ferrari/mclaren constructors. Hulkenberg and Colapinto are also locks
@@f1fantasyhub yeah but to add a rule mid game is wrong. have it in place for next year and not drop it all of a sudden cause one person wrote an article to make themself feel relevant.
@@philmark2296fully agree! Fixing an unfair loophole, with a mid-Season rule change (that is effectively just as unfair) is making the situation so much worse!
I think there’s more upside to use LL on a sprint than to use it to save Logan from a -25 this week. Kinda feels like it’s delaying the inevitable as you’ll have to get rid of him at some point!
Would you do Norris down to Leclerc and Sainz down to Perez. Going off the first 2 sessions looks like Red Bull and certainly Perez looking like they heading back on the right track
