Seeing bench depth was nice and I really liked our(USA) blocks today. We stood really tall.

Japan's Men team is now among the Top 5 in the World. This is very similar to the Women's team during their peak back in 2010-2012 where they reached 3rd in the World Standings. I hope that the Men's would get a medal in the Olympics as I personally think Ishikawa deserved. If the Women's had Kimura who is considered to be the best woman VB player in Japan's history, the Men's have Ishikawa who is also considered to be among the world's best. They are currently at their peak as a team, i hope it materializes at the Paris olympics. Good luck to them!

@@piotrpot9630 Let people celebrate their growth. Smh? Realistically speaking, height is an advantage in Volleyball which most european and western teams have. I just wished they get a medal at the biggest stage, and the fact that their world ranking is now among the Top 5 is a testament of their great improvement all over the previous years. I do know that they're not on par with the likes of Poland so why the hate?
@@piotrpot9630 Sir, can you let us celebrate? What's with the hate? Japan had to strive and work harder to make up with their height disadvantage, you know?? We know they aren't on par with Poland but we're still proud of their improvements and achieving great things (VNL Bronze, AVC Champions, Being Quified to Paris Olympics) all in one year and these are the fruits of their years of hardwork and preparation.

As an Asian, I am of course very proud of you because you have fought to finish the qualifying matches with extraordinary performance. Too bad this is the last match, I'm sad to have to say goodbye to all of you😭. But that's okay, I'll always wait until next year!

I'm proud of Japan's 2nd stringers as they were able to go head to head with USA's 2nd stringers, I mean even if it's 2nd stringers, this is still the USA. 🤗 With this match being this intense, what more if they played in Paris Olympics next year!! And with full force ❤

Tbh, I thought this would go 3 - 1 or 3 - 0 USA but Japan gave them a hard time. Plus, Miyaura was on fire (27 points). Also just goes to show that the youngsters of Japan has potential. Both teams did great! Both are already qualified for Olympics so I can't wait to see them again next year in Olympics full force!! ❤
Duh they aint using their starters r u crazy if christenson was there wouldnt go the mile, but maybe same thing if sekita was there. Im a fan of both teams and i always watch their games

And its not "just" bench players of USA, I'm seeing a lot of posts saying its just because its the bench players of USA that played thats why they went to 5 sets. Its like you guys are underestimating USA's bench players. They're still part of team USA National Team, you know? And they're great as well.
@@fr1424Duh, Japan aint using their starters as well. Obviously, by stats, Team USA is stronger than Japan but the youngersters of Japan / 2nd stringers gave the second stringers of the USA a run for its money. Just look at how the body built and heights of those Americans compared to the langky and shorter height of the Japanese.
No one is saying Japan is better than Team USA, but what people have observed is that the 2nd stringers of Japan can run head to head with the 2nd stringers of Team USA.

I hope Japan will make it to the Podium in Paris the same way their women’s team did it in London Olympic Cycle. Actually, after the women’s team bronze’s finished at London Olympics, there was a clamour to improve and re-organized the Men’s team. And since then, the Men’s has been constantly improving. I can still recall how Shimidzu-Yamagida-Yuki trio started the fanfare. But during those time also, Iran is on another level and way above Japan in all aspect. So i would say, every team has their own time to shine. And this is Japan’s time to shine.

大塚、宮浦、小川、山内はスタメンと変わらないパフォーマンスが出せるは分かってたけど、特に大塚はそれを証明したと思う。収穫は富田！慣れてくると活躍出来ることを証明した！山本龍にはラリーをもっと使って欲しかった！甲斐は高橋慶帆とか次世代メンバーと一緒にイタリアとか行って修行してきて欲しい。米国も2セット目からスタメンばかりではなかったとはいえ日本は本当に善戦したと思う！良いゲームでした！
高橋、ラリー、富田、大塚、甲斐、日本のVリーグにとどまらず海外に行って欲しい。
セリエAに行けばどんどん成長出来る

I love these throwaway games because we get to see the up-and-comers show what they got. What's telling is that the USA B team struggled with the Japan B team. These are the guys who are supposed to take over after the aging starting 6 retire, and based on this performance, while still a win, the USA looks like it's gonna struggle in the next 5 years or so.
With the current squad + incoming players, the first 6 I foresee after the 2024 Olympics will be Jendryk, Christensen, Gabi Garcia, De Falco, Shoji, and Russell. Not too bad, but average age is still 30+. USA better develop some younglings fast.
What about Jaeschke,Ma'a,D'agostino, Ensing and so on?? They're not old at all..I mean for sure they're not at the same level of Christenson,De Falco,Matt.Anderson,Smith, Russel and E.Shoji although Jaeschke actually is at De Falco and Russell level.The USA volleyball team will struggle to get a 6 starter team at the current level in the next years,it's a matter of fact.On the other hand there are some players who are included in Spearow roaster (on the Usa site) who are said to be quite good;I pretend to see them in the next Vnl and volleyball national competitions.
Ps:there's a native Italian🇮🇹 player who play currently as an opposite in Usa university who is said to be a great talent.
How is a country that big couldn’t find a better opposite than Ensing are they trying to make Anderson work until he’s 40
But remember USA has a different kind of volleyball system. They don't usually send thier young guns on the international arena. Their best replacements are still playing o college.
@serpens9891 Jake Hanes and kyle russel are both better than ensing in my opinion, and Gabi Garcia just joined the US gym so he is going to be the starter after anderson

Congratulations to both teams who have qualified for the Olympics. I'm very impressed with the competition, which allows the reserve players to compete. They did well on both teams. I'm excited and can't wait to see the upcoming Olympics.
Wow, that was close. As much as I wanted to see the US go undefeated in this qualifier, I thought Speraw's decision to keep out his starters and make the non-starters fight through this was a smart one to give them more experience. In the end they showed they could do it. Good to know there is so much depth going into the next Olympics.

@@jerrychen2302 I didn't see 2nd tier teams going against each other at all. They gave us spectacular and exciting games. Any of them could take on the assignments should they be chosen. It's very wrong to pick only a few players among the team of any nation to glorifying them. They can't win by themselves.
@@mikiohirata9627true. In top tier teams, there is no A or B teams. Their line-up is carefully chosen from the depth of so many great players in their country. Though I would say, the one advantage of the first 6 starters are their exposure to crucial moments.
micah's setting in that first set was amazing to watch as usual, and miyaura's explosive gameplay is always a treat :)

Thank you again for showing us a great game today with such interesting and wonderful members from both teams. I think the Japanese team has been losing to the serious USA team in men's volleyball for about 50 years. However as you can see, Japan has now grown significantly. I hope that both teams will have a awesome game for medals at next year's Paris Olympics.

でも今までの日本じゃ二軍にすら勝てないこととかあったからね。ポーランドとか特にそう。レオンが居なくても勝てると思われてた日本が今年あったネーションズリーグでは、レオンを引きずり出させたからね。
まぁレオンが出てきてからはレオンのスパイクをほぼ取る事が出来ずにやられてたけど

I’m just happy both quaified for the olympics. Regardless of outcome. Both are my favorites in the volleyball world. What’s even more impressive is how strong Japans reserves are. Wow😳 They grinded hard. Even the United States had most reserves in and managed to grind it to a win. Even with both teams not fully equipped, this game was extremely competitive. This game was one of tge most exciting of the tournament with their secondary players on the court😂🤙🏼🙏🏼👍🏼💪🏼❤️

A very well contested game between two teams with the best defences in the world.
We have to give credit to Sparow and Weber for their courage in fielding a team with Hawaiian players, showing that the USA does have quality human resources. Youngsters like Jendrick who came on today and destroyed the Japanese attack.
Today, in terms of defence, blocking and midfield, I don't see any other team that can match the USA. The moment shows that the Paris Olympics will be very interesting.
It was a game of giants, literally. I'm very happy for the USA and Japan!
This match really gave the b team and young members a boost of confidence. Japan just needs to get a better middle other than Kentaro, and a more efficient setter.

In several matches I was sure that the USA would definitely win, but when I met Japan I started to doubt that the 2nd & 3rd set would be lost. Luckily, the coach is smart about rotating players...congratulations, Team US for winning the match.
