Alabama Crimson Tide @ Auburn Tigers | 17-18 | 11-22-1997 The Auburn Tigers beat the Alabama Crimson Tide 18-17 at Jordan Hare Stadium in Auburn, Alabama on November 22nd, 1997.
This was the beginning of a 10 year span from 2nd Grade Elementary to 11th Grade Juniors in High School when Alabama football was a laughingstock before Nick Saban's arrival in January 2007.
@@ncrtrooper6619 Those were still winning seasons, er go not laughingstocks. Alabama won 67 games out of 120 possible games with 5 winning seasons, 1 neutral, and 4 losing seasons.
The play call wasn’t bad. The pass was caught and wasn’t intercepted. The ball was fumbled. A fumble could happen on any play. Just kind of a freaky play
@@bmaze35640 They had Shaun Alexander. Just hand him the football. It was a stupid play call against a defense that is going to be playing up and being a throw if incomplete it stops the clock FOR Auburn. RETARDED playing calling and time management.
I had given up went to my room to sulk..my brother screams from the other room "fumble!!" And the rest his history

Except 1999, SEC Champions and 2002 10-3. There were a couple of good years.
@@alanlogan1369 02 or 05 doesn't really count as great years as they lost to Auburn in those years.

It's been a miserable decade+ since Scam Newton, hasn't it? Auburn can't even figure out which coach to hire these days.
Up 17-15 with under a minute left. Can't think of a dumber play call in that situation. What's worse is that DuBose had no idea what was going on.
RollTide1987 Auburn avoid the upset with game winning field goal 18-17
RT 1987, I was watching NFL network this morning and they interviewed Bruce Arians. I cannot look at that man without thinking of the screen pass.
I've said before that I was/am a Terry Bowden fan, and he needed that win. I was happy for him, though disappointed for the Tide.

Dubose clapping after every huge Bama mistake is simply infuriating.
Sad
Wow..
Lol, Alabama shouldn’t attempt 57 yards attempts at Auburn apparently.
And the Basketball program for Alabama suffered a HUMILIATING LOSS to Auburn 94-40 cost David Hobbs his job in January 1998.
Alabama basketball is doing pretty good in 2023. ebbs and flows...
