Michele, long time lurker. As a man, I don’t know, I think it’s weird for me to comment and interact. But I discovered your channel during the first lockdown and you kept me company. I miss the East Coast (Philly native, live in Athens Greece for 25 years now) and your voice is just right and it was great when I was catching up on all your videos and I could do housework with “company”. Anyway, long comment but I just wanted to say that you totally won me over again when you mentioned Cheez Doodles. My favorite snack too and they haven’t been called Cheez Doodles for decades but I still call them Crunchy Cheez Doodles to this day! Total cookie fiend too! I lived in Manhattan for 28 years. Agree about Raoul's. One of the best restaurants in Manhattan. The other is Scalinatella on 61st street, just off Lexington. Italian (Northern, I think). They have a menu but will make almost anything you want. The gelatos for dessert are incredible. Love this restaurant.
I have the same issue with eyeshadow. I definitely recommend using an eyeshadow primer. My all-time favorite is from Nars; it's a universal "clear" color. Drugstore option: Milani Eyeshadow Primer, really good. If you want something with more coverage, I use MAC paintpot in Painterly (heavier in coverage but also really good). I don't like the feeling of concealer on my eyelids.

Jes, food is AWESOME and VERY HEALTHY and incredibly different in every single part of the country. 😋
but, as far as "to live in a town" for some (long) time: forget Florence (& Venice). They are so full of tourists 365 days a year, there is no way to actually appreciate "ordinary" life.
and then... anywhere else is fine, it just depends on your taste!

For the person who asked about other fav luxury beauty You Tubers, I would add Lexi Jong (superb swatches, comparisons, brush expert) and Allison Chase (MUA, Chanel and Dior expert). Definitely worth a look see. Also love Abby Bliss White and Everyday Edit if you are 50+, as they have great advice for mature skin.

Two things that resonated with me- My stepson has had similar stomach issues for a couple of decades. On their trip to Italy, he was symptom free the whole time. Same thing when they went to Costa Rica. The food in the US contains many ingredients that are banned in Europe. Secondly, about working out- I am 72 years old. I slept very badly last night and developed quite a headache. I knew I would regret not working out so I did. Headache gone and body aches subsided. Priorities!
I feel the same about working out. For me, telling myself “stop stalling and just go” and this works better than any fancy motivations.

Yes to ice cream
No to cooked fruit as well!
Our food Chem class went to visit one of Danny Meyer’s restaurants and they were amazing in their treatment of us- showed us some techniques and explained some science to us.
The way I screamed when you said, "I don't really like cooked fruit"... I tell people that, in exactly the same halting way with caveats to follow, all the time. I've never heard anyone else put it that way! 😂😂

As a native NYer I always say, when asked where I am from, "New York City, living in Los Angeles". Nothing compares to NY and I have lived abroad, in London, in Sao Paulo, in Geneva, but NYC is it! Probably the depth and seriousness of East Coasters is what I value most. When I moved to LA I had been an Assistant Professor at NYU and arrived in a beach-blanket-bingo town of Manhattan Beach. I was in shock. Love to visit Vegas and am just floating here in LA, but NY is my home and my heart.

You would love being in Europe for extending periods of time. I was fortunate enough to spend a year in Florence during undergraduate school and a year in England during grad school, which allowed me to travel throughout those countries. I can honestly say that having extra time on your hands is the best way to explore a country, meet and appreciate the people and be astonished at the variety each country offers, including public transportation. Spending a month away now is much easier with the advent of BNB and the like. Just DO it - you’ll never regret it. Thanks for a fun vlog!
New content idea: Michelle teaches knitting! I've tried so many times, and just can't get the hang of it.
Michele, we have a lot in common from food preferences, tummy issues (US food is horrible compared to EU quality) and our love of NYC (I’m still living here). My niece went to high school in LIC around the time I think you lived there. I was amazed at how beautifully they developed the area. I still head there for restaurants, etc. Thanks for the chat. It’s always nice to “get to know you” a bit more.

I am from the south and one thing I’m grateful for is our well. I lived in the city and other places, former military, but I’m also almost 10 acres. My next investment is a whole house generator. A good friend of mine has one for his house and it’s amazing.

I love Drift and Speedway eye shadows from Sydney Grace. Very pretty, cool browns. I shy away from warm tans/browns on my eyes and they make such good shadows. You can make a custom palette!

On the eyeshadow issue, you may want to try the ABH primer. It’s white in color and may help neutralize the warmth in your skin/eyeshadow. Loved the video!
To prevent your eyelids color changing I use a eyelid primer! Works great.
We always owned a home, since we were 24, so at first since the home was new we were good. After 2019, which was 8 years in, we were constantly buying new appliances repairs etc. 🤦🏻♀️🤦🏻♀️. And living in west Texas were we haven’t gotten a lot of water, ever 😅, we’ve had to recycle the water. From the shower it goes out to the trees, from our washer. And we’re trying to do the sink from the kitchen. But I hear you.

I too was looking for the perfect grey/brown eyeshadow. Couldn't find it anywhere. I have a friend who sells Mary Kay cosmetics. I've never been a fan, but I asked her if she had a mushroomy grey/brown shade and she did. It's perfect. The shade is Cashmere Haze. It's the right color and a great formulation. I think you'd like it. I enjoy your vlogs very much. Take care.

@@TheMicheleWang Absolutely. I wish he had restaurants ( other than Shake Shack) in New Jersey. It’s so meh here. The only place worth dining at is Drew’s Bayshore Bistro in Keyport. It is on par with Danny’s places.

Just wanted to share that pigments turn warm on my skin, too. I have neutral olive skin and either the yellow component of the olive tone or my skin’s pH turns blush and eyeshadows ORANGE.

Michelle - in regard to food: you may have a gluten sensitivity or intolerance. Bread and gluten is different in Europe vs here. And tons of foods (not just bread) in the US have gluten. Flour is added to so many things as a thickening agent or a cheap ingredient used in all kinds of foods. I wouldn't be surprised if you have a gluten sensitivity.

omg i was betrayed by someone at work too! (like she almost got me fired) all while pretending to be my best friend and i was SHOCKED because i still don’t know why! i think she was dealing with some insecurities and felt…. threatened? i was so hurt personally, but also like. girl! us women really need to lift each other up especially in professional environments! i had never experienced anything like that and haven’t since luckily. i was just deeply hurt as an individual and straight up offended as a feminist lol
