- The Class of 2019 made it through Plebe Summer - Parents Weekend is over and the Brigade reforms next week. This video highlights what they have endured over the past six weeks of the Summer of 2015, from personal challenges to building camaraderie with their classmates beginning with I-Day's frenetic processing.

There is no way I'll ever forget that day, July 6, 1984. I give myself a #1 haircut every few weeks, mostly to diminish the gray hairs on my temples, so the I-day haircut doesn't seem that traumatic anymore. The getting yelled at by complete strangers took a little getting used to (though, I did plebe detail as a Firstie, and I would guess it helped inform the experience).
My dad was a part of the class of '83, but you might know him because he taught at the academy for a bit. Does Scott Bell sound familiar?

Loved it. Not the hot an humid summer I remember. The one criticism is for the off-screen narrators. The on-screen guys were fine; the off-screen guys were obviously reading, not trying to communicate. jack Lynch, '60

And I hope they get someone to do the narration that can pronounce all of the words!

Some USNA graduates are commissioning directly into the USMC. The USMC is a department of the Navy.
So is plebe summer like basic training/boot camp where once you have been accepted to the academy you do this six week training before the actual school year starts??

There's a certain length women have to get there's cut to, but it's only for the plebe summer if I'm not mistaken. I think you can grow it out throughout the year
Yes, but not as short as the men. It has to be above the shoulder, as to not distract you during training / combat.

(From what I understand from your question) There's exchange programs between Academies around the world. I believe you have to be accepted to your native Academy in order to exchange to the United States Naval Academy. I would look into it from your end.
