Thanks man, this was really the start of my return to MTB! After I did this and some single track at the local trails I knew I (my back) could handle it again! Once I knew that I “had” to get a new bike to keep progressing - in retrospect 2019 end of season demo bikes was the best time to buy! Now it’s near impossible to get a bike let alone something specific on sale! Glad you enjoyed and hope you enjoy some future vids with my new bike!
That is insane, thanks for pointing that out :) I'd never noticed it before. I was born with a heart defect and had two surgeries to attempt to correct it, I remain borderline. No amount of exercise will help with the actual problem says the doc, so I am forever limited in my capacity. That said it can't hurt to keep pushing myself to my own personal best - I always come back from my rides drenched head to toe as if I did an all day marathon, even if I'm not biking through rivers haha :)
Thanks Mr_E54, I appreciate you coming to my defense, but I always error on the positive side and took it as a sign of support and am not offended - idioms.thefreedictionary.com/right+on - Glad you enjoy my videos and have a great day! :)

@@mikeschannel2218 np, let me know if you like the RAW uncut format, I also have some edited supercut compilations. I kind of like both for different reasons - enjoy :)

Thanks, Jason! You might be surprised - but you already spotted the long stem - this is my old Giant Iguana hardtail with 100mm front air suspension from about 2004. It came with that stem - as was the style at the time 😆 Tyres are nothing special - 26” (x 1.75 I believe). Honestly, the rear tyre here was nearly bald and only had grips on the sides of the tyre. You can see me spinning the rear on the way out of the muddy section after going back through the water. The trick I found is momentum, balance, and knowing the trail 😂 My new bike is a Trek Fuel EX 8 29er full suspension - 130mm fox front and rear. Night and day difference, has helped me up my game tremendously. Thanks for stopping by and feel free to check out some of my later videos if you want to see my new bike in action 🚲 I get up to a crazy 30+m / 100+ft fallen tree skinny and some double black diamond. Enjoy!
Haha that’s literally how it feels when I go back to this bike :) I ride a new Trek Fuel EX 8 now with stock bars and to go back to this 2004 Giant Iguana 🦎 is like a blast in the past! The tires were also completely bald minus the little bits that always seem to remain on the side. Hope you enjoyed!
Thanks :) If you want to see the trail that is under the water check out this video I made while the river was lower - th-cam.com/video/1IdDA2zrQAY/w-d-xo.html
That is insane - was this on flat ground that was flooded or rocky/uneven terrain? Either way, biking through deep water in any situation is difficult due to the extra resistance - please share a video if you have one :)
I was out biking making a video and thought of this, so I put the bike down for you to take a look. More in the description here: th-cam.com/video/4ZiYyNwloww/w-d-xo.html
haha, I appreciate the honesty. To be fair, it was difficult but if I did not already have the path memorized (when the river was low) it would have been impossible for me as well. Too many pedal catching rocks to navigate and choosing a line in through deep water - hard to see everything. So don't give up, just find some riverbed when the water level is low and find a good line.
Don’t worry it’s ok, just give it a wash and oil it up. In fact, I still have this bike :) It’s a 2006 Giant Iguana and I just put 1,400km on it this year (so far) for Ride for Heart 💜 all original parts except the tires and brake pads. Hope you enjoyed the video! 🤘
@@thejuicer1005 that’s ok the time police weren’t watching ;) you would NOT want to ride a bike in the ocean or salt water - that would more likely cause corrosion. What?
I recommend not doing that, it can create rust and break down some parts
