  • Application Function (AF) is a control plane function within the 5G core network that provides application services to subscribers.
    If an AF is trusted, it can interact directly with 5GC network functions, or if it is an untrusted 3rd party AP, then it should interact via a NEF.
    It can be for video streaming services and will enable operators to build new revenue streams for future use cases.

    Is it fair to say that the AF becomes the “AppStore” for 3rd party vendors to sell their services to consumers via the operator ?
