    I remember this gentleman KB from demos for Thomann and really enjoyed his playing and demos...years ago he was major metal influenced...In a awesome way he has evolved into a way more versatile player. Awesome KB.! Cheers from Newport Beach, CA. 🌊

      Ohh wow, I don’t even know what to say. Thanks so much!! I certainly had a rock phase, then metal, fusion jazz, blues, classic rock, reggae, country / folk, etc. Now I simply like all of those, haha! That clearly changed my taste and the way I play (for better or worse 😅). Thanks for the kind words JG!

    Another video where I discern a level up on your playing bro! Great demo fun to listen to as well. I own an OCD that used to be my dad's. Your father/son relationship sounds like mine. Great to hear about it.

    Thank you for doing this video. Being in the US, I can't really try before I buy. This looks/sounds very interesting.

    Alright... Dude, this intro jam, WOW! I hope you turn this into a full song. About the pedal - unbelievable tone, especially for the price.

      Thanks my dude! It’s actually a full song for a long time. I covered myself here, haha! It’s song we wrote with my old power metal band, Tuzmadar. It was an awesome time and this album was released by the hungarian Metal Hammer label back then. Here’s the song: th-cam.com/video/8XxKd0t3kCA/w-d-xo.html

    I dig these 2-sided drive pedals. Well, any 2-sided pedal. I appreciate space/power chord saving, and it helps when the pedal sounds good, of course.

  • @Crunch0123
    @Crunch0123 3 หลายเดือนก่อน

    Nice review. I have a question if you dont mind. I am thinking about getting this pedal as a clean boost, on the blues side. And one more drive is always a plus. My question is, if I hit the drive, but leave the level at the minimum, will my tone stay clean, but louder? Or will it distort, regardless how much level I add?

  • @mikeyjhn
    @mikeyjhn 2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    Great playing as always 👍🏻 Interested in getting this but the one review on Thomann low volume level. Is that your view and could be a concern?

    • @KrisBarocsi
      @KrisBarocsi  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hey, I can’t imagine how someone can find the volume too low. You’ve seen the settings of the pedal throughout the video, unity volume was under 50% of the volume knob. 👍
      My only guess is that the person who wrote that review tried it out with a very quiet amp (low bedroom volume). That’s where you sometimes need to raise the volume of drive pedals to unreasonable levels to match the clean volume.

  • @thamashu
    @thamashu 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    It was really interesting Kris! All of the demos sounded good to me except the lead tone in the intro song. I do not know what settings you used there but that sounded really weak for my ears. Everything else was really great sounding!

      One Control makes really cool stuff, I use their pedal switcher for many years and it’s awesome. Same goes for this HB pedal btw. I couldn’t believe how it sounds.

  • @djay6651
    @djay6651 2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    I don't think there's really an unusable tone or sound. I've seen guys get usable and decent sounds out of what is considered trash gear.
    This pedal sounds pretty versatile, especially with the stacking options, which is, as you said, not common.

    man, I used to use the shredmaster. it wasn't a well named pedal because it wasn't as gainy as most of the competition, but it was a good sounding pedal...I dont know what I did with mine and I have way too many overdrive these days...

    Wow - sounds great. Did you already check out the "Evil Twin"? There is just one video from Rich but it would be nice if you could a take on that "Evil Twin". I love the comparison with your boutique pedals - there isn't a huge sonically difference - not to justify the price.

    Kris, there's only 1 Review on the Web Site and the guy really liked the sound of the pedal but..........he said there's very little Input Signal therefore the Pedal Level has to be turned up almost all the way. Did you find this to be true? Thanks man and Cheers from Salem, Ohio US.

    For my part i like to find gear that makes good results =) and if it is not break the bank it is a bonus,..The Harley Benton Binary Metal pedal is really good example,..It is as good as any JOYO UZI or Darkflame Metal pedal, and it comes with a good decent Noisegate too,..This HB Binary pedal has been my goto since i got it,...many seems not notice it, or maybe they are snobbs too ;D just jokeing dear Kris,.. for shure we love you Kris

    The pedal sounds really good, especially for the price. It doesn't feel (at least via TH-cam) that the BluesBreaker side adds a lot of interesting texture to the sound like the most expensive pedals do (e.g. my favourite take on BB: JHS Morning Glory). A workhorse of dual overdrive pedals I would say. Thanks for the review!

    I just gotta laugh a bit at Harley Benton's marketing. Their ad text on their page for the a few of these dual pedals in this series have the descriptions backwards (effect A, when they mean B, and vice versa). They don't even have this one yet on their page.
    This appears to be an OCD on the left and probably a Bluesbreaker on the right. Their Evil Twin dual pedal looks like an OCD on the left and a TS on the right. Might lend for a tighter low-end when stacking. Nothing on that page talks about it taking 18V like an OCD does (and almost needs to if you like using it lightly for oomph instead of grind).

    It's pink. I like it.
    As with all pedals
    I will not use
    It
    Just as my guitars
    Oh wait
    Maybe I need some pedals to go back to using my guitars
    Unless I start to mod them again

  • @Paul_Lenard_Ewing
    @Paul_Lenard_Ewing 2 ปีที่แล้ว

    Thanx for the demo. The pedal is a good deal as it is $87.00 USD. Most of the H.B. pedals are made by Joyo but Joyo do not make the equivalent. Soooo?
    The pedal is not voiced for Metal. You can not falt a pedal for not having a feature not suited for it's use. The very best and expensive MIAB pedals that are sold as accurate clones of the real Marshall amps are neither tight or have long sustain because the original Marshalls did not either.
