The impeller rattle that you hear when on the trailer is normal and will be fine in the water. Definitely give the carburettors a clean before taking it out
Your waisting a lot of money rn on making it look pretty when it doesn’t run yet. Wait till the thing runs before you start pouring money in it to make it look pretty.
People always slam on the oil pumps. Ive had 4 yamaha skis and not one has gone bad on me.. But what has gone bad are the oil lines. On a 92 xvr i worked on the oil lines cracked cutting the supply off to the carb which melted both pistons. Make sure its running on all 3 I had a wvt 1100 too and cyl 2 was down a pack. it ran well but only would do to 45 mph on a lake. It should hit 50+ ish. Great work! Ps they also make after market primers for the ski that are universal. They are 1000% worth it. They start so much easier with a shot of fuel.
Personal preference, but id just delete the oil system and run premix in it. You never have to worry about a 30 yr old oil system burning your pistons/cylinders out after that. I used to be into old mopeds and never trusted the oil systems on those either.
When it comes to jetskis I love waverunner..yamaha makes the best I believe and I have 5 two strokes..and they all make noises..put it on the water and hammer it and everything will smoothe out..if you still hear noises while going then something is wrong..I got skis I ride all the time..on the trailer you would swear something is loose in the engine..on the water don't get next to it..2-gp1300r and 3-gp1200r in case you were wondering
Swap out the choke for a primer kit. Also on a 2 stroke as soon as you get it to turn over do a compression test on all three cylinders with all three spark plugs holding the throttle wide open. You should join a 2 stroke Waverunner group on Facebook to get quicker answers to your questions.
Replace the ware ring in the jet and check the bearings on the shaft! As the eingine goes make sure the choke cable is hooked up right and closing the choke all the way closed when you first start it!
People who are saying its your jetpump bearings are wrong theres supposed to be force against the impeller but when its out of water its not and it makes a rattling sound thats perfectly normal i have plenty of yamis that do that 2nd you need to go through the carbs pay someone to do it because its not your normal carb and you will screw it up its made up from diaphrams and these motors are usually take time to start after a few days because it takes time to build fuel pressure to break the pop off pressure in carbs add a primer as it makes life easier other than that your good
Bearing in the propeller shaft the blades are hitting the housing I have the identical ski have done both of mine And be careful running the old fuel lines cus there could be garbage in them and clog 1 of your carbs lean and burn the engine up
Sounds like the impeller grinding on the ware ring.or drive line bearings through the jet pump or engine not in alignment with the drive shaft. SorryJUST Realised 11 months ago Darh😶!
To me it sounds like a missfire you can hear the diference when of the idle when the noise goes on and when you rev it it bugs, out of the water on jetski its normal to hear some clinki noise but to me itsounds like a missfire if you see oil or gas come out of the exhaust carbs are probably overflowing
The scrapping is the jetski impeller rubbing on the housing, I had the same problem with my jetski. Had to replace the housing and the impeller. Also if you wanna take those mats off it leaves all the stuff on it. Soak a cloth in unleaded fuel then leave in on it for an hour then use an old credit card to scratch it off (won’t damage the paint then)
My brain hurts..... alright man you definitely have a good jetski but you gotta start taking better care of it! I have the same one except I have the waveraider 1100 triple. 1st off! Clean your carburetors all 3 of them! Replace the needle valves also dont skip that part. By doing so you will wake this ski up and she will return to her formal glory, she will start within 3 seconds every time smoke alittle less and have much more power! Your jet pump is making the same noise most skis make so I wouldn't worry too much, there are several zerk fittings on the drive shaft you and hit with some new grease. If your feeling like spending alittle money go get a bearing kit and just replace them. Do a compression check for us too, as far as your fule/oil system is concerned go through every part of it!!!!!! REPLACE THE OIL INJECTION LINES AND FUEL LINES THEY WILL DEGRADE AND CAUSE FAILURE!!! it's great your ski works but if you want to keep it that way then get to work and hope you make a video on it! Best of luck
The oil pumps are driven off the crank shaft. They NEVER go bad. People use that excuse cuz they dont maintain their skis and have a dry rotted oil line break apart and blow their engines up. Change your oil and fuel lines every year and you'll be fine. As for the sound from the impeller, the gap between the wear ring and impeller looks pretty bad... there shouldn't be any gap at all. I bet you'll cavitate like crazy if you put that ski in the water right now. Buy a stainless steel impeller and a wear ring and itll wake that thing up. You might be able to find a complete jet pump cheaper than you would a wear ring
Definitely need to clip oil lines and replace. New fuel lines, those gray ones have a liner in them that begins to break down and is sucked into the carbs. Take carbs rebuild and clean. Empty old gas and oil, probably replace that choke cable and direction cable. New fuel filters. Get in and check that impeller and bearings.
Just gunna say for ya if u havnt already, just bite the bullet and get a carb kit to redo them, itll start right up trust me. Also the rattle is kinda normal just the impeller rattling from not being in the water, once u hit open water itll go away. Changing the wear ring wouldnt be a bad idea tho just fyi. Also get away from oil injection its bad voodoo, go premix you will thank me later.
The best way to start those is to hold the choke on for like 10 seconds of holding the start button the choke makes a vacuum witch sucks the fuel to the carbs.
Bro everytime you start an old yetski you have to pull the choke thats if the choke works And all the noise you hear is totally normal older jetskis are loud outside the water. The smoke is totally normal they are 2 stroke burns oil with the gas! The motor sounds totally fine. If the bearings in the pump are bad the shaft will move up and down.
The problem with the grinding noise is not major. There is probably no play in the bearings and it’s all fine. The sounds comes when the prop hits the wear ring. I got a bunch of old skis and it always works great in the water without any noises
Hey just letting you know it’s not supposed to smoke a ton but if you don’t see it smoking at all that’s a really bad sign that your engines not getting any oil and you need to make sure your oil injection pump is working
Jet pump is cavitating it’s kind of normal unless you put it in the water and it doesn’t have a whole lot of thrust will need a new wear ring sound is pretty normal take it on the water and see what it does and rebuild the carbs
Like everyone else says I'd change the impeller barrings I'd also do a good cleaning through the carbs and the line's and use a fuel cleaner for a couple of runs and I'd change the plugs
Please rebuild those carbs ASAP... Add a primer kit while you're at it. Noise is normal, my 91 VXR 650 made this horrendous noise out of water but on the lake it was smooth as butter. Water muffles more than you think. Change the spark plugs too!
Me too got a 94vxr 650 im trying to find new or good used gunwhale bumpers.mine are cracked every 4inches.know of any???ive been ripped off by ebay and partzilla on not getting my shipping n handling back on wrong type pieces.!!snookie pa.!!!
Bro clean that carburetor change the impeller bearing and replace the fuel and oil lines
You got that from reading others comments
@@connorferri3369 either way idgaf saves me from scrolling lmao who cares?..
It’s your jet pump bearings
Ok I will check it out!
Yeah Timmy might be right that sounds like it
Keep it strait and then turn it
Man it’s been a year! Are you still working on it? Love ur vids man

Hi Matt, I have a question when will you ride on this jest skin on the water :) Cant wait to se it. Greetings from Poland- bye!

Thanks for the info! I need to look into that aftermarket primer!

A lot of times when you run a jetski out of water you can hear rattling, but its tough to tell what u have going on through the video
It sounds like a misfire, my old engine used to do it, may need a carb clean.
Just take it out run it
When it comes to jetskis I love waverunner..yamaha makes the best I believe and I have 5 two strokes..and they all make noises..put it on the water and hammer it and everything will smoothe out..if you still hear noises while going then something is wrong..I got skis I ride all the time..on the trailer you would swear something is loose in the engine..on the water don't get next to it..2-gp1300r and 3-gp1200r in case you were wondering

Ow and the oilpumps dont go bad its the oil lines that goes bad
Love your vids, keep up the good content.👍👍
It needs water pump fluid
Replace the ware ring in the jet and check the bearings on the shaft!
As the eingine goes make sure the choke cable is hooked up right and closing the choke all the way closed when you first start it!
you're not supposed to "rev" it when the choke is on
True
Jet pump bearings... And clean the carburator!
Looks like it’s running out of fuel take the carbs off
Notice the water at 3:59😮
Probably nothing

so did you finally get it running what did you do to get it going-??
Sounds like the impeller grinding on the ware ring.or drive line bearings through the jet pump or engine not in alignment with the drive shaft. SorryJUST Realised 11 months ago Darh😶!
To get it started put the choke on full, pull the throttle 4 times slowly and it should start straight up
I would convert it to premix and block off Oil lines to Carbs.
That rev and vibration is probably one of your bearings in the impeller assembly realisticly. Its very easy to take off and inspect.
Check underneath the jet ski and see if anything is wrapped around the impeller through the intake grate or if it's loose.
That's the wear ring.&seal inside of the impeller.klotz amp oil for impeller pump unit for oiling.

use the choke while cranking. don’t pump it . and then choke off start it again .

not paint its gelcoat and gas damages the gelcoat you use a eraser wheel
Jack DeVane what. He wants the glue off. I legit just got the mats of my jetski and I used gass
Your jets must be blocked in your carb take it apart
Hi
Is either your pump bearings or your way or ring for your impeller
Where you able to ride it? Did you sell it? Did you fix it? What happened with the ski?
May be a week or so before I get it on the water, 6 months later....
Probably your impeller bearings
That sludge and oil tells me a main engine seal is blown and sucking oil from your engine case.
My brain hurts..... alright man you definitely have a good jetski but you gotta start taking better care of it! I have the same one except I have the waveraider 1100 triple. 1st off! Surprise your dad with a new jet ski
Jet pump sound bad when run out of the water. Run it in the water.
You shouldn't be reving it up on a.hose and that noise is normal
So a year later what happened to the ski? Is it fixed? It sounded nasty lol
jet pump bearings
This video 10 months ago and love the vids ! Where are the rest?
Ur line are just bad fuel line replace and clean carb and ur good
Don't u remember u flooded the engine
Clean the carbs and rebuild them.

Hey, where the jetski????
Buy a fuel primer
The water droplets look weird
Do not paint over galvanized metal! The paint will come off and look way worse.
Could be your shaft as well
still waiting on an update...

Could be either your impeller bearings or your impeller housing could be swollen. Had the same problem with my 1999 xl 760
The best way to start those is to hold the choke on for like 10 seconds of holding the start button the choke makes a vacuum witch sucks the fuel to the carbs.
What ever happened to the jet ski ?

MATTTTTT
Jet pump is cavitating it’s kind of normal unless you put it in the water and it doesn’t have a whole lot of thrust will need a new wear ring sound is pretty normal take it on the water and see what it does and rebuild the carbs
Do black Matt
I got a 89 Yamaha wave runner and haven’t had a single problem with the thing and we always have problems with the new ones
Your jet pump bearings are bad and take your impeller out and see if there is some divots in the impeller file then down a little
I know it’s a bit late but you don’t have to rebuild the carbs, you could just clean them
Its the propeller. It scraps. The propeller is under the jetski. You have to screw it out ther.
Black
Like everyone else says I'd change the impeller barrings I'd also do a good cleaning through the carbs and the line's and use a fuel cleaner for a couple of runs and I'd change the plugs
Can you give it a new paint when you’re done :)
You don't paint fiberglass. You buff the oxidation out.
Before you go on the water with the jet ski I would grease all the drive shaft bearings and that noise is probably the wear ring
It might be your impeller inside maybe some mice or something was living in there
Please rebuild those carbs ASAP... Add a primer kit while you're at it. Noise is normal, my 91 VXR 650 made this horrendous noise out of water but on the lake it was smooth as butter. Water muffles more than you think. Change the spark plugs too!

You need to replace the propeller or there is something stuck in the propeller
That noise is your pump bearings. The same thing happened to mine about 2 weeks ago. I replaced the bearings and it runs and sounds fine
hey it might be that it sucked up a rock and mest with it
Its the Zylinderkopfdichtung idk what its called in English, i'm german sorry
Its called cylinder head gasket according to my translator
That noise is normal on a jet ski. The rattling noise it’s just bc it’s on the trailer mine does it to
lt needs to be put in water to warm up you guys havnt taken it out yet
Also, that is why you always verify the Vin number of the hole before the purchase
You need new jet pump bearing.
Do a full jetpump rebuild.
It probably just needs a deep cleaning in the inside
The bearing in your jet pump they aren't that hard to take off
Compression test I would start with and a leak down test, could be crank seals
That's the sound of a free jet ski.
sounds like ur not running mixed gas
FIRST PLS DAY HI TO ME
It’s your jet pump bearings
Are you going to make a boat video of repainting and new leather on the seats
