I just replaced the headlights on my sister in law’s Toyota (276,000 miles!). I used your video and was 100% successful! Thank you. I felt so satisfied when I was done. Could not have done it without your video!
I've been putting this off for months because I was afraid of messing it up. After finding and watching your video, I went ahead and replaced my sidelights in 20 minutes! The steps were really simple to follow. Thank you so much!
Thank you so much for this video. I took the time off from corona to teach myself something new. This video probably saved me $100 by doing it myself. Thanks again!
Great video!! One thing I almost missed bolting down new head lights is L-shaped feature has to go thru hole of metal frame. Be patient when unclipping grill to avoid breaking off small clips, I would suggest buying new ones to replace all of them at this point.
Great video, replaced my headlights and markers following your lead. One note though, there seems to be no actual "right and left" adjustment. That screw is for mounting only, it screws into plastic with a very course thread, obviously not for adjusting. However, the up and down adjustment was totally necessary on my 2003 Taco. Nice work on the tutorial, thank you!
All my lights are working, but the lenses were "fogged". Purchased a RAIN-X headlight restoration kit. AMAZING the results! HOW MUCH did those new units cost?
With filament type bulbs, may I suggest wearing latex gloves. Touching and handling a new bulb leaves oils from our fingers and when that gets hot a few times a sort of crud builds up. This causes the bulb to run hotter than it should and will shorten the lifespan. This does not apply to LED type lamps. Thanks for the tutorial. Well done.
Idontcare_626 according to our data the 2002 models use the same exact headlights, also our catalog shows them as adjustable, so maybe check for yourself to verify, also correct vehicle ride height and tire size and pressure should be considered when accessing headlight adjustment!
Thanks. Great video. I have that same 2004 Tacoma (Double-cab, and red). 199,000 miles. (And since I'm passing it on to my son, I finally decided to replace the headlight assemblies. Why didn't I do this sooner? Bahahaha!) Peace!
I did this and had a bit of trouble. I only bought the headlights and not the markers. I would recommend replacing both. The plastic tabs on the markers snapped off with little resistance, very brittle.
Dealing with an old vehicle you will notice that the plastic clips and tabs are brittle as fuck. Any pressure will result in breakage. Have extra clips on hand
What i really really wanted to know I what size socket is used for the up and down adjustment. A tiny hex head is not enough info....i am gonna have to purchase a socket and do not want to sound like the proverbial clueless backyard mechanic.
You know if you take apart a hard drive and take the magnets out then put em on the horn in the right place you can make em sound like high pitched screams?…. Kinda funny to do to a buddy without them knowing so when they get pissed and use the horn it goes off like an old school trolly or something.. lol.

Great video. By now many (most?) first gen Tacomas need new front lights so this video is a great service to the community.

Where'd you buy em from?
Thanks, this saved me time and made sure I had just the right tools and a good understanding of where all the catches and bolts were.

That's correct, he mistakenly said there is a left/right adjustment. First gen Tacomas only have up/down adjustment which he did correctly show.
Do I need to disconnect battery?
Thanks man, good video. I thought it would be a lot but pretty easy with your help.
Very helpful! Made the project very easy for me.

Very interesting. I have an 2002 Tacoma. Dealership said there was no headlight adjustment on my model.

yeah we said the same exact thing, this is one of our employees trucks and the new headlights made the truck look much newer.

Alot of my grill pins broke during this process. But other than that great video. All i need is to adjust them and hit the road
Why do the black pieces move up and down install my new headlights but they move any ideas
So where's the headlight adjustment link!?
Can you buy the tabs for the corner light?

Oh and very nice video! Very helpful! Very thorough! Excellent job!
Step by step. Thanks a lot!!!
Had same problems with side maker not going in pain.
I broke one of the tabs when reinstalling it.
Toyota’s require a little banging for things to match up together properly 🤙🏽
