@@JDmerkem Dear Nova, as delightful of a response as that was, I'm afraid some context has carelessly soared overhead like a breeze with no destination. Is it only me finding even the first guitar riff very nostalgic? For who plays guitar , I bet one of the first scale you learned is the pentatonic scale. I remember myself at 13/14/15 year-old being so excited to play kind of rocky and bluesy solos on a pentatonic. The first guitar riff of this song sounds like is played by an excited young guy who has just learned the pentatonic major and this resonates so much with me and it brings me back those days. It's so easy, beautiful and rocky. This whole thing is strange, it's very very nostalgic.
I wasn't there sadly (I'm from Chile), but the day this happened I watched it live through my TV + my set of speakers. I enjoyed every single moment of that afternoon. It hit hard for me as I was living new experiences and things that would change my life forever, started with my actual girlfriend, I wouldn't know how to explain it, but that afternoon this touched my heart so badly, I heard this concert way too many times that year, it was the coming of age, living new experiences, a hard but lovely and weird time, that day at the TV with Mac singing I felt like I had found my place. Such a year, I will always remember, and Mac in this concert was part of it too.
I'm not a fan of the original, but this... this is wonderful. I wholeheartedly agree with the title's claim of this being the "best performance". Hell yeah.
I must try and get to Chile. It has always been a country with incredible colours. Think it even beats Italy. And they produce good wine. Good colour equals good wine! Haha. Sorry, I mean the colour of the Earth and organic materials. Too beautiful.
If you like nature go to the south, there's glasiers and beautiful places like Torres del Paine, Pucón and Caburgua. if you like wine you should go to the 6th region named "O'higgins" there is the best wine. And the park were Mac demarco played in Santiago is named "O'higgins park" btw.
The way he started the song off was so spunky, and energetic. The calm build up then he slacks his strings and it's so metallic and rough. My favorite beat drop ever!
@@Will-kf8tp if I remember correctly the band had a fender sponsorship that resulted in them all getting fenders. Wonder if something happened with that contract.
