Like others have mentioned, it needs a voice. Most cell phones today do have text to speech. Using the existing text to speech engine would allow owners/users to customize Looi's speech / voice to they like, without need to design and program an entirely new voice and text to speech engine.Looi can access and use the camera, microphone, Bluetooth. So adding/programming it to access and use the text to voice would be 1) the simplest and 2) the most cost effective.

I hope they add a fully personalized voice synthesis before production. And a sdk to program it would be an awesome add-on! I am surprised they have done so little in gesture control on phones. I had an MSI Netbook almost 20 years ago that used facial gesture to play games. Good to see them work with it on this robot. 😎
I get the feeling that it does talk but he had it on silent mode so it wasn’t talking. It even prompted him at one point to turn on the mic and referred to itself as the only one talking.
Charging dock like a robo lawnmower or robo cleaner connected through home assistant or w/e would be cool. Detecting when you leave for work (or when reaching low battery if working from home) to get charged so it can keep your phone going/charge it once you slap your phone on there.
I’m curious about how much power it uses. Is the most power consumed from the body or from the phone because it seems like it would drain the battery on the phone fast. I’m not sure if you touched on this but it would be nice if it was charging your phone while connected to the body.
It dosent take from your phone its a magsafe charger plus they havent put reverse charging on apple and it wouldnt make sense for people with the magnetic ring for older phones yes he does have a battry and charges on usbc
@@EricJKuhns Well, sadly i was right, i just confirmed through official sources that the android version is being "worked on" with no estimated time for arrival due to big differences in between IOS and Android. That being sad it's harsh that they do not specify this Anywhere in the process of purchase or anywhere else, plus the pre-order system in their website also shows no estimated time for you to finally receive your device which just kept me from buying it...who knows if i'll ever even get it? They have to specify that this is EXCLUSIVELY compatible with an iphone that supports MAGSAFE technology.

One question, is it possible to turn the "Looi" personality off and just have it as a dope phone holder? Maybe keep the tracking and GPT stuff.
Even though its using a smart phone but the developer didn't make it speak and the face expression is somehow simple regardless the phone can display a lot. It work the same as EMO but to me EMO is a better chose as you don't need a smart phone to make it work and Looi with the smart phone doesn't do much more than EMO either. BTW, with the charging station, EMO goes back by its own when its battery run low, doesn't need me to put it on the charging deck (it came with WIRELESS charging deck which look like a skate board).

I would absolutely buy LOOI if he had a voice. I feel like having to read the little icon on the screen everytime would get kind of tiring. He'd feel more like a little robot pet with a cute robotic voice.
I have emo and still think he’s the cutest one out of all of them and I don’t like the idea of touching the face of the phone for LOOI to do things like sleeping. I just tell Emo “go to/ go back to sleep” and he’d go to sleep. Like a lot more solo robot interaction than relying on touching for command or using app.
And yes it has clock alarms weather and news modes but the Camera on the unit is not practical because it makes it more expensive and it won’t go so far with Bluetooth anyway it’s no like we are driving it outside while we sit inside a camera is a waste because we have one on the phone the whole point of the product is to utilities your phone and if the camera is only for one feature it’s not worth it
Making a car dashboard version that charges my phone at the same time as being a driving companion would have me sold 10x over...oh a voice would make it easier to.
To be honest, anything you give your information to isn’t 100% safe, even if the company does their best to keep your data private since there’s always hacks and things like that. But after working with this company, I do trust them as far as what they handle. Thank you for watching!

Cheap, cool computers.... preinstalled with a HUGE list of malware, backdoors, and flatout viruses. And now this little robot, from Shenzhen, wants to help you with "Security". Good luck, buddy!
The camera hardware in your phone was probably made in Shenzhen and how many selfies have you taken? Going online anywhere is a risk and if you're really worried run a packet sniffer or use industrial strength firewall hardware. People screaming about security and they literally carry a powerful tracker in their pockets. 😂😂😂

I imagine letting him be a dog ot cat or even a dragon.. Good ideas if I say so myself, but voice is thecway we communicate and should have been the first thing implemented. I am not really interested in games but if he could be a real companion, remembering interactions like if I asked him to remind me about something he comes back to me and reminds me in his voice. Maybe with a bit of attitude. Saying that personality is so important for little robots, let him evolve and learn everything about me, keep a list and talk about things I like or dislike, let him have his own opinion, but really important is somehow giving him feelings, not real of course, most robots have got the angry faces but where's the shy face when you start him, or the happy face, sad face, concerned face etc.
Sadly, it’s kind of a catch 22 with these ai robots, because with all AI robots, you have to give permission for the camera, the audio, and the Internet for them to work properly. It really depends on your amount of trust in the company. Hopefully soon someone will make an AI robot that can update, but works primarily off-line at all other times!

Needs clock, alarms, weather news, camera on base for a video feed when using RC mode. Needs to be Android compatible.
