- When Natalie finished this piece I asked "what was that?". She answered; "I just made it up then". One listener heard my question and her answer and said to all the other listeners; "she just composed that right then". I heard murmurs and obvious reactions to his comment, then I sat back down on my green milk crate, had a sip of organic orange juice, fired up a cigarette and thought, "You thought that was good? You ain't seen nothing yet"!!

When I filmed this some time back, I felt, well was hoping that maybe the world would sit back and listen to one of, if not the best 'unknown composer' in the world today (my mum 'Natalie') Well it seems the world 'is' listening and rightly so. This is just 'one' of her compositions.And it appears to be going 'viral' on TH-cam. There are many more that I would call absolute master pieces. Pending the right time, you will be introduced to those, but in the meantime...enjoy the 'now'.

This is a unique type of a musician: no need to practice ever again, the music becomes musicians life, it gets into fingers, into soul, into flesh. Musician becomes incarnated music.
Your mother, Natalie Trayling is incredible. She's an absolutely brilliant performer and composer. And though it is tragic that she may never have gotten her due recognition in youth, I'm so glad that you've brought her performances to the light of the world here. She is truly a master of her craft.

Very talented lady. Carries music in her heart and it just flows out naturally. I know how she feels... I can sit at the piano all day and just make up tunes. Problem is I don't write them down ... One can tell she's played piano for years... My greatest respect to her!
My Dad used to play like this. Sadly, we lost him to Alzheimers and he lost his ability to play long before that. Thank you for sharing your mothers incredible talent. It has brought back wonderful memories for me. She is remarkable!

Tears....streaming down my face. It's so incredible to witness her brilliance, but to add onto that, her upward age....and then to be stupefied she's playing on the streets with barely anybody witnessing this living and breathing work of art is just blowing my mind. Matthew, keep pushing so she can get more exposure. She should be in Carnegie hall. God bless her!
I have read all the comments and echo them, especially how the music makes me feel. Ive sent it to my friends because it lifted me from my troubles and trials and bore me up where it came from. God gave this joy into your mother's heart and she is sharing it with us who need it so badly in these days. Natalie, may God strengthen your hands so it will not hurt and you can go on playing for many years. God bless and keep you.

Matthew I would like to say blessings to your mother and to you. Thank you for sharing this with the world. She plays with such amazing grace. How filled her playing is with beauty that is haunting and empowering. So many emotions run off her fingers as she plays. I can only imagine how it would be to hear her play live. Please let her know that I am so touched by her playing in which I see sunlight, dark clouds, buffeting winds, glittering snow, rumbling thunder and the whispering rain like a lullaby. Below I read that you say she has eccentricities which are hard to deal with. So was it with my mother, but for those of us children to such people blessed with the light and dark of great intelligence and feeling we are enriched by both. The importance is acceptance and gratefulness as you have come to have which leads to respect. Again blessings on you both from Canada.

Matthew Trayling Have you tried getting some of your mother's songs written out? There are many sources out there that will be able to extract what your mother has done, script them out and then you can self-publish them on music sites.
Stephen DeCesare All I can do Stephen at this point in time is film and upload. That is her request and I have to 'reluctantly' abide by that. With her brilliance comes eccentricness that can sometimes be hard to deal with. In saying that, she has a lot of manuscripts locked away in a locker (copy-written) of absolute musical masterpieces, yet wont take up offers of recording them. I can only respect her wishes, and in doing that it seems that she will become be a musical 'Van Gogh' becoming famous after she has left us all.

Emotion invoked beyond words. I could listen to her playing for hours or days or years. Please do record all you can for the world to hear. Save her music, and save her for as long as you can.

Real Friday Mathew please share with your mum how she touches my heart as I listen to this lovely gifted lady. I play her videos over and over as it soothes my heart from the loss of my husband of 54 years. She plays with such deep emotion which I see in her hands as she goes across the keyboard. You are so blessed to have a mum like her. Do you play the piano also?
I was there in Mel some five years ago and met/listened to your talented mother playing "don't cry for me Argentina". It was one of the most memorable moments when I was in Australia. She was, and is so great. Goosebumps everywhere. Wish all the best to your mom and happy belated birthday.

this is so beautiful. I watch her hands in disbelief, thinking how much her hands could be hurting her but she doesn't let it stop her if they do hurt. Totally amazing. As I close my eyes and listen to her play, I see the music flow in such majestic colors.... what an amazing, talented woman she is.
The brain is such a wonderful thing. It can "create" beautiful art that warms the heart and satisfies emotions. And music is the most universal of mediums in trying to express that wonder.

I saw in one of the videos that she doesn't want to perform for money, but the beauty that God has given her should be saved for future generations to experience and enjoy. Hi, I am a french woman and I've discovered your mother on facebook. I shared the video and tried to discover more about this performer, reading the comments. I read your's and then came to listen more on youtube.
I've been so moved listening to her improvising. I've send a link so my father could discover her, because he is fond of classical music and piano ; and he founded her absolutly amazing and inspiring.

I was thrilled to find you have uploaded videos of her playing her original compositions. I hope someday to be able to buy her music to listen to at home. I have mom on the phone right now and she say's "thank you so much for your comment and wishes you all that is good for you and everybody connected with you".
Next time you talk to your Mom, let her know that while listening to her play I had to touch the screen over her and asked God to bless her and protect her always. I told my son last night that your mom should be taken into a recording studio and have a CD made. I would be one of the first in line to purchase it. Hugs to both of you.

The more I watch this the more amazed I am- how can anyone just compose such complex music right on the spot?! Did even Mozart do that? I know Beethoven did something like this with his improvisations in his early days in Vienna, but few people have done this.
I play the piano, but in her presence, I'd never fess up to that fact. She has the anointing of David and her playing is soothing. I am reminded of the story in the NT of the man with the withered hand, who had "withered-hand-mentality" that didn't allow him to reach out and do what he was capable of, until told differently. I think that more people, if they'd stop to think about it, can probably be doing more in life than they think, simply because they put boundaries on themselves which do not need to be there. Kudos to this woman, and her gift to the masses.

Nicola, you're not the only one. I'm also completely dumbfounded, speechless, awestruck, and completely in love. Every emotion possible (all not at the same time, of course) can really be felt as she plays, through dynamics and what harmonies she chooses to play, it's truly amazing. Matthew, tell her she's as good as Rubenstein's interpretations of Chopin's nocturnes. She really is. Her soul is absolutely beautiful and I hope it lives on forever in her music.

Matthew, congratulations -- what a GIFTED mother you have!! Why don't you get all these pieces recorded and transcribed. They also belong in a CONCERT HALL. ANd that would be so great for people to see and hear you mom in a proper concert hall -- not just the street. And then maybe allow free admittance in the orchestra or so....
If it were up to me Myles all that would probably happen. But it's not up to me, it;s up to mum, and at this stage in her own words "I just want to play". While reluctantly respecting that, I continue to encourage her to pursue what not only you are suggesting, but thousands of others.
That was beautiful a master pice worthy enough to be admired by Beethoven himself, and the entire time I was about to cry. What she dose can not be described in words nor understood you have to listen to understand and feel its power.
And a profoundly powerful comment OMX. My mum would be honored by it, as would Beethoven himself.
