    Love when you talk about other stuff outside of lifting as well. Breathing+cold plunge+meditation+lifting is healing my PTSD. Everyone thinks medication is the answer, but this recipe is helping me more than Rx ever has.

      Love to hear that. Trauma is hard. I had a really violent life early on and carried the trauma with me as well. Very happy to hear you’re recovering. Truth is the world is trauma even for those who have it “easy”. Life is hard, these practices help so much. Thanks for sharing bro!

    You do not know how you hit me with fatigue and hands. I am sitting here watching this at the end of the second month of my diet with my torn up callouses unhealed for at least 1 month.

    100% agree with the low RPE work. my personality just wants to go balls to the wall all the time and i just got weak af. Srtarted going lighter and finshing with good speed and its been a game changer.

    Gonna try the spot reduction stuff you talked about a while ago. Some hard sets of cable crunches before my runs 2x a week. Genetically blessed with disproportionate fat storage in the midsection for a "skinny" guy, so we'll see what happens.

      Train abs high reps every day right before whenever your highest activity is or before a fasting period. And do exactly what you said too. It’ll work well.

    Just do a raw training vlog man, whether it’s mic’d up or not, your content still the best (for me) , just enjoying those lifts man,

    Most of my sets on the main lifts are RPE 6-7 and save anything heavier for a few weeks out. Once I start getting into RPE 8 we’ve found I’ll peak rapidly, and that first weeks after will be wildly stronger, but it comes down crashing and burning just as fast.

    How close to failure do you need to push the accessories/bodybuilding work for hypertrophy aka more muscle mass, That won’t actually affect the big lifts SBD! Man you need to upload more often!

    • @BrendanTietz
      @BrendanTietz  7 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Usually single joint accessories I go rpe 8-10 and multi joint 7-9!

      Now that’s a bad ass answer, please do upload daily, even if its a raw video / training vlog etc,

    Brenden , I had that weird “thing” happened to me. So I was on day 28th of the Introductory course , obviously meditating, and all of a sudden after I finished the session , normally I continue for 5-10 extra minutes, the experience had become overwhelming. Tingling , vibration , sounds , clouds of sensations became so clear and vibrant. It almost gave me an anxiety, almost. It continued for 10 more minutes. What can you say about that ?

    • @BrendanTietz
      @BrendanTietz  7 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      A rise in consciousness. More weird shit will happen lol. You’ll reach states of pure bliss for extended periods. Look up the jhanas in Buddhism. They explain what some of these states are. Sounds like you were edging on the first jhana. But don’t ever and I mean ever try to “meditate to reach a state”. Just always sit. No mind. The more you try to do something the less it’ll happen and it’s not about mystical experiences. It’s always about being a better human to the world around you

    While i agree with the sub-max training, John Hacck goes to RPE10 every week on every lift, about 12wks out of a meet.
    But being enhanced i think helps him recover from it better

    • @BrendanTietz
      @BrendanTietz  7 หลายเดือนก่อน

      That’s not true at all. I just looked at his IG to quantify. Leading up to American pro the last weeks, he only posted a single set at rpe 10 and the majority were rpe 7-8 top sets. In prep touching 8 is fine even sometimes 9 when you’re 4 weeks out. Joey wave loads, he doesn’t go rpe 8+ often. You’re just identifying with his PRs and missing the rest

    • @mariomolnar3184
      @mariomolnar3184 7 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@BrendanTietz i think that Bench especially he goes at RPE10 each week on his last weeks, as that is where you can see the bar sloeing down the most in certain parts, even if some sections of the movements are speedy. But not RPE10 as in 100%, but just enough below max where 1 more rep can't be done.
      He also talked on the EliteFTS podcast about how certain substances and dosages allow him to just add 5kg each week.
      And on his YT channel he also posts misses of heavy singles in training before comps. IG rarely sees those
      And yes, while Joey Flexx used to coach John, i think he stopped years ago when he started the enhanced route. All in all, i agree with "staying in the pocket" most of the year. But idk if John is the best example

    • @BrendanTietz
      @BrendanTietz  7 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Please don’t make me legit write out his last weeks of training lol. 826 deadlift… that’s at most @ 8. The 512 bench… he’s benched 600 lol. The long pause triples at 451lbs? These are literally on his IG right now before the American pro. Now it’s worth noting he’s clearly a clout lifter so he’ll do dumb shit for sure. Not saying he’s the best example but when he locks in he doesn’t go rpe 10. The reason I mentioned Joey is because he built his entire strength set under him since I believe it was 2015 with John. It might’ve even been 2014. It was right when noris left the scene.

      Bro… he’s insane. So insane. I rarely get impressed by small weight classes but he’s genuinely the most impressive active PLer to me right now. People have no idea what 650 + feels like on the back even at my size. Nuts to witness this era

    Who’s on your list of all time powerlifting greats? 👀

    • @BrendanTietz
      @BrendanTietz  7 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      I’m gonna answer this in next Q&A but honestly Ed Coan is still number 1 imo but I think John haack will pass him. Austin Perkins is already on the list. Jesse Noris was so far ahead he’s hard not to have on the list. I think even Russ orhi makes it soon if he keeps excelling. KK just because his deadlift stood for so long.
      To me greatness is defined generationally. For instance in ufc somehow Islam passed Jon jones… thats suchhhhh bs lol Jon jones has been dominant for so long. So you either have to be an extreme outlier way ahead of everyone else. Or you have to reign supreme over multiple weight classes or for an extended period of time. Ed Coan literally did all 3 and therefore he’s still the greatest.
