@@xHiyamiit's not because the game decided to go open world. It's how the CGI is directed and how they redesigned the several playable characters to appeal to the gacha crowd. It screams gacha, quite loudly I might add.

@@lushen952 I'm more upset that the artstyle doesn't have that distinct dungeon fighter look than anything. Looks too generic anime. Dnf duel did a great job capturing the look, so Idk what happened here. I just really hope this isn't a genshin style gacha.
@redreaver5598 I looked at dnf other games and...this is fine. DNF has an extremely inconsistent look across its games. I found cutscenes in duels that looked exactly like this. The charachters themselves look the same except less cell shading.
I think people are just saying genshin because there's a lot of grassy plains and fantasy castle. If we go into other regions I think it can stand out more.

So this is the other game that Project BBQ split into. Khazan the first Berserker, and ARAD. AND I HAVE TO SAY THEY BOTH LOOK AMAZING.
Yeah it gave me project bbq vibes but the game got rebrand with the access of the original game just changing some twicks look it up.

@@kyotanaka920 Well come on I really hope the devs doesn't disrespect DF like that. Certainly, they have standards they follow. DFO has always been really lenient when it comes to cosmetics, unlike genshin. So hopefully going by the devs standards they follow suit and continue to remain to have a high standard, but as I have said in other comments we dont know anything for an absolute fact yet there are so many unknowns still.

No, it's not. It's looking like a Genshin like game. Of all the playable characters in that trailer... Only 2 of them were recognizable to DNF players, the others were sporting brand new designs likely for the gacha element.
Except for the loli at the end with the cross: that is an entirely brand new character. We have a female priest already but she's the embodiment of Mommy.
There is another 3D game DFO is supposed to get, which is called Overkill. I don't think this is Overkill, this has a different vibe. On top of that, Overkill is a prequel, while this takes place during the main story.
I don't know how to feel about DFO turning up like a Genshin clone yet... I need to see gameplay

@@xHiyami you are lying if you recognize Ranger, Soul Bender, whatever the fuck that female slayer is supposed to be, and female crusader just from their designs. If not for the Elementalist at the final group shot, you wouldn't even be able to tell that this was DFO.
I can tell you everyone I DO know however:
0:19 Canna. Or Kanna if you played Nexon days.
0:32 Sharan giving Elementalist papers. She was who you'd go to to train mage skills.
1:56 Berserker fighting Lotus inside the Sky Ocean. The big bad from the Behemoth stages.
2 of them is playable. 2 of them are NPCs. One is a boss. For a franchise with extremely recongizable characters, that number is depressingly low. Now let's take a look at another DNF game: DNF Duel.
EVERYONE in that game you will be able to recognize from just a glance. Guy with big sword and blood, Berserker. Loli with a puffy dress and dolls. Enchantress. Giant buff dude in priest garbs. Crusader. A female knight with a dragon pet. Dragon Knight. Even characters getting redesigned like Striker remained recognizable as that specific subclass. You know who they are and what they are about immediately, a stark contrast to this trailer that reeks of Genshin vibes.
There is only ONE character you would not recognize and that's the final boss, and for very good reason: the shits for brains CEO kept retconning important lore bits every expansion until he finally got the boot. Now Lost Warrior just is just lost media at this point, who was supposed to play a vital role in Knights' story by the way.
Aesthetically, theme-wise it looks terrible. It looks more like a Collab with a Hoyoverse game than its own game since the original DNF character designs don't match with the new characters design. Only Elementalist and Berserker had their original look in the trailer but that MRanger does not? If only 1 subclass of each base class can keep its original look, DnF players aren't going to be happy if their main subclass doesn't have the original look (especially since a lot of them have awesome 2A and NEO awakening looks). Also, none of the new character designs (especially the female from the carriage, the female in the window, the purple blade female, and the "main" male) fit in the DNF universe (doesn't look like Kashipa fasion, Pandemonium fashion, Seon Fashion, Arad fashion, Empyrean fashion, Dark Elf fashion. The "main" male could pass as a Gravity Falls member but that's another issue since Gravity Falls isn't out and the only male representatives of their fashion are Lopes and Fors).
As for how Hendon Myre looks, too many tall and pointy buildings that's too similar to Mondstadt. At least have the architecture reflect the main game. Hendon Myre buildings are mostly short and rounded with only the Lemidia Basilica Church and the building where Skardi is in being more fancy. Hopefully the environments will actually match the original DNF places instead of being generic fields/mountains/deserts (Gran Flores, Dark Elf Kingdom, Shonan, Power Station, etc.)

There is a manhwa with the same name, Light of Arad:Forerunner by Redice Studio. It has the same game name, dungeon and fighter, similar characters such as Sharan the dark elve npc, and the shopkeeper npc too, and the tentacle monster, Lotus. If the starting story is the same, then that's just crazy
The manwha is a promo for dfo.

It's 2024, this game needs to reach a new level of visuals (maybe like wuthering waves). But it looks like an outdated clone of genshin or honkai. Really very similar. I would actually believe this is a mihoyo game if I didn't see nexon

This trailer didn't really give me any idea of what kind of game this is going to be. I've played DFO, and it was an online side-scrolling beat'em up. The character designs in this are entirely different, so is this not actually related to DFO? Is this going to be a turn-based RPG? A BotW type action-adventure game? I can't tell anything at all from the trailer.

@@xHiyami No character looks anything like what I remember the characters to look like. Even visiting the site and looking at the character art, they look different in this trailer compared to DFO. I wish I could still play DFO, since I loved the game to death, but for a long time now I haven't been able to boot the game up. Keep getting the same error message every time, even after deleting and reinstalling the game.
Either way, I still have no idea what kind of game this is supposed to be.

I know for a fact, and recognize many of the characters lol There are LITERALLY characters from the dungeon fighter online world in this game. It's only the graphics/art that is different.
@@xHiyami Only the shopkeepers look the same. The art style isn't the issue at all; it's the character designs. And even then, it wasn't even an "issue" and I wasn't complaining, I was asking some simple questions. Do you not have any answers, or are you just here to antagonize for no reason?

You are trying to tell a current player that plays dungeon fighter for at least 5-10 hours sometimes more per day that he's wrong. I am telling you for an absolute fact that there are a lot of characters from the dungeon fighter world in this trailer.
I’ve only played a little bit of dfo, but even I can see that they hit the characters with the Genshin beam, with an exception here and there. It really sucks considering that the designs in the online game slap. Unless the devs are doing some gbf relink type of thing, it’s safe to say it’s gonna be a gacha.

Most of mooves we see in this trailer are just copied from genshin/honkai/WuWa mooves... 0 originality
except dfo/dnf debuted in 2005 so it by far preceded any of those

1:24 the skill used by the fslayer-like character resembles dark templar's deadly cape
1:28 the skill used by the obvious ranger is a mini ver of ranger's seventh flow
1:33 the elementalist used lantern firebomb and then halloween buster
1:53 and lastly the skill used by the berserker is either blood snatch or brutal crusher
only one whose skill cant be placed is the sword wave/beam by what seems to be the protagonist character with the fairy

@Sonneprine stop moving the goal post, this is a spin off game, its the same reason why kazan the first berserker is instead a souls-like game following a important lore character, its why project overkill looks more like a slower 3D ver of dfo/dnf or how dnf mobile is almost directly a remake of the mmo on mobile devices but toned down
regardless of how far or close they are to the source game they still take cue from its world, character and is recognizable as part of the IP which is what dnf arad is doing here

They don't even try to hide it, everytime they talk about the game: It's DFO but first person. Launchers with the ability to shoot people in air to send them higher (BBQ), gunners in general, battle mage with dragon spear, Brawler, witch with a spell that pulls people and taunts with a doll. Hell, DFO was a huge esport game once upon a time. All these shit they took from DFO, and that's from like, 30ish comic chapters. Only thing that's different is that it's a First Person Shooter

Honestly... This is not what I expected. Well, I don't like character designs at all. Say what you want, but the original DF had its own unique character design. And here... another copy of Genshin, the character designs are just dull.
That's what I'm saying. DNF character designs were next level. This looks like it's appealing to the Genshin crowd. Especially Female Slayer looking like she came straight out of Star Rail. Male Ranger looks NOTHING like any version of a ranger. Loli crusader when Enchantress is the ONLY support loli character... The fucking Soul Bender looking like a Walmart Wise, not to mention the outfit he wears wouldn't have been available to Arad at this time period considering *Lotus is still fucking alive.*
I'm willing to bet the only reason Elementalist and Berserker looks the way they do because NeoPle's putting their foot on the ground on these two characters specifically. One is a fan favorite of China, their biggest source of revenue, the other is their beloved daughter.
These designs scream Genshin to me. The jumping from the ship to use a glider screams Genshin. The surfboard thing screams Tower of Fantasy, which is a SciFi knock off of Genshin. The way the characters did their attacks screams Genshin trailer.
If this is a Genshin clone, they fumbled because DNF already offered amazing character designs and these were a downgrade. If this ISN'T a Genshin Clone, then they're just kicking field goals into the wrong directions at that point...
@kyotanaka920 I agree. Even remembering the same DNF Duel, which is also related to DF, I really liked the designs of the fighters. Looking at them, it was already clear to me that these were brutal people (especially the male characters, they really look brutal) with a lot of battle experience. And here, they literally look like schoolchildren.

Dungeon Fighter: Arad is basically DFO but mixed with Genshin and Wuthering Waves (Which admittingly, WUWA is better than Genshin.)
But the old DFO is still WAAY MORE flashy and stunning in character skills and Ultimates compared to these two.

I still love original DnF style and world, but the moment they went for alternative timeline every time they started new project proves they have no idea how to properly expand the original universe.

Ya'll should have revealed this with gameplay. Because as of now the game is not getting much attention since this trailer just makes the game look like a Genshin rip off. Need to show us what makes this game unique and if there isn't anything then you need to go back to the drawing board and remake it. The market for Gacha open world games is about to become super crowed and you have the least interesting looking game so far out of Ananta, Arknights Endfield, Azur Promilia, Duet Night Abyss, etc.
