1:47 Want to add onto this! If you have a horse who just cannot be caught with a halter, has escaped and is panicking which is making it harder for you to catch them, or just want to do something with your horse very quickly but don’t want to grab a halter, you can just clip the lead rope onto itself to make a hoop big enough to fit over your horse’s head and onto their neck so you can lead/catch them easily. That’s what we do with our mini’s, especially the ones who run away when they see a halter, and it works very well! This could also be used to catch your horse quickly so you can actually put a halter on them. When you’re leading them tho, if you’re using a thin lead rope, be careful with how much you pull on it when leading as it will make the hoop smaller and you may accidentally hurt your horse’s neck/throat.
Another tip; the small round dog tags at the vending machine at petsmart. We have them on each blanket, name and weight. I can never keep them all strait. Especially with 3~4 horses. Same with bridles. Small tag, one side has a dressage horse; back has name of horse that the bridle belongs too.
You can use latex cleaning gloves to remove horse hair from your pads. You just put the gloves on and rub the pad with your hands. I'm doing it every week currently (since our horseys are shedding like hell) and it works so well! Anyway, thanks for those hacks. Greetings from France!
In my hack is I spray it onto my grooming, brush, and then apply it to my horse because I’m not gonna directly spray them in the face with it. I don’t waste any product, spraying it into my brush, the texture of the bristles almost like soaks in, and then helps dispense it evenly on my horse
Something that works great for shedding and daily grooming is the farnam slick n easy It’s cheap too only about 5 dollars and you can use it almost everywhere on your horse I love it!
Personal information: in the netherlands and belgium there are already many places where you can buy a small doble piece of leather where your phonenumber and name are at the inside. You can fix it at the bridle. Its waterproof. Also you find special gloves working like the rasp. Maybe not a real flymask, but something with stripes that you can fix at the halter. That first thing with sponge will be better as dishwasher😅
Instead of getting the plastic luggage tag get a $10 dog's collar tag engraved with your horse's name and information and attach it to your horse's bridle, not their saddle. (I feel like people are more likely to look for a horse's info on their bridle/head than their saddle!) Additionally, by putting the tag on the horse's bridle it's not going to chafe against either you or the horse.
I make rescue /emergency bracelet/ pocket halters. Uses 2 metal loops and a piece of paracord... much faster and safer than a belt or running for a lead. Also the 1st... just use a sponge.
10:44 I'd say a treat would probably do the trick just as well without putting something annoying on the horse's body. Correct me if I'm wrong. I'm a layperson.
At a guess, you'd probably have better success just pouring the spray into a tub and rinsing a regular sponge in it just so it's saturated to the point where it's not leaking, but on contact will actually dispense the liquid.
Fly spray; spray, on my hands wipe on face; then dirty hands go on pants... LOL. I have rubbed my eye once by accident, and I have swatted my eye once. We bought cheep rope halter's and leads. 2 in each car; in a farm town you would be not surprised how many times we have stumbled on horses near the highway that got loose.
I just saw such a horrible comment, the video was about why mules are better than horses, one comment said I like mules because you have to train horses out of fear they are so dumb but mules are smart, I was so mad!!
I have the best fly spray in the game right now but it’s like only local to my area. This lady has spent years perfecting it but she is selling it so if anybody wants to try a bottle let me know I can get you the link to the website website and all the information but I’m not kidding like my horse was struggling being attacked by flies in his pasture And he is finally comfortable
I absolutely hated the tape on the nose thing !!!! And he’s smart enough to know better also !!! I hope NO ONE ever does this it’s absolutely the worst and could cause injury ! Please take this out of the video immediately!
Tape seems horrible. You're causing irritation and potential stress that you can't easily remove, and you make it more difficult to get the horse's attention if you need it. Any training you do ("pay attention, stand still, relax") won't stick if they're only thinking about what's on their face and not about what's happening around you. Some horses, it might work as a last resort, but you need to know how the horse reacts. If it escalates, it could get out of control quickly. If the horse is wigged out, you can't get the tape off.

Omg!!! The lead rope halter is genius!!! There’s been so many times I forgot my halter and have to run back and forth . 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼

Awesome Horse Hacks and I will try some of them soon with my horses! 🤠❤❤❤❤❤
Bug spray goes on their faces with my hands. I feel like I have much more control with where it goes.
All those hacks are SOO smart!! Thanks for sharing!!💖
Love these hacks thank you 😊
Excited to try these hacks!
Irish Spring repels mosquitos so I could see it working for flies too.

I would use a gps tracker so I could see where my horse went

I tried the duct tape on our yearling. She rubbed it off on the grass within seconds. I must try the rasp as deshedder!

Use a dollar store squeegee for shedding 👍
THE BEST shedding tool is Striphair tool
Hello ❤❤
I just saw such a horrible comment, the video was about why mules are better than horses, one comment said I like mules because you have to train horses out of fear they are so dumb but mules are smart, I was so mad!!
The simplest solution is to grab them by their mane 2:34
Endurance comes in a roll on for the face
for the bubble gum trick I would use hubba bubba

hii❤
Just put the fly spray on your hand and wipe it on their face - free
I absolutely hated the tape on the nose thing !!!! And he’s smart enough to know better also !!! I hope NO ONE ever does this it’s absolutely the worst and could cause injury ! Please take this out of the video immediately!
I just squirt the fly spray on my hand, then rub it over their face.
Squirting it on a rag works too.
