Going into a fight trying to prove that you’re not a mistake is literally wild to me. Not only the pressure to win the fight but also proving to yourself that your birth was worth it

This is a perfect video. Creed 2 is my fav movie of all time and I think the way it portrays men’s mental health and is so relatable. The acting, the writing, the characters, and the soundtrack/score is all so perfect. It’s all a story of growth and it really all shows. The end when Ivan finally accepts victor for who he is instead of just for his legacy is awesome and always so tearjerking. It’s also a perfect send off for Rocky and really shows how much creed has grown as a person.

Thank you so so much. That means a lot. These first two movies are total masterpieces. Shame that they don’t get as much attention as they deserve. So grateful for these pieces of cinema!

Masterpieces? Creed 2 was awful. Terrible writing. Making adonis a heavyweight is ludicrous.

I'm glad someone else is aware of the lack of quality control there is with Creed 3. I admire the heart and passion Michael B Jordan put into his directorial debut, but it's a rushed and poorly executed story that is far too pretentious in comparison to the raw authenticity and sincerity of Creed 1 and 2. The fact it does away completely and inexplicably with Rocky who was key to the progression of the main character's story is unforgivable and did no favors for the story of that film. To me, Creed 3 is without a doubt the Rocky 5 of it's trilogy. I would love to see you do a video on how to FIX the damage Creed 3 did in Creed 4 and what story to tell that would resonate once again with people who fell in love with the first two. I think Creed 4 ultimately will require the presence of Rocky to repurpose it and tell a competent story about an aging fighter which Creed 3 tapped into in the most surface level way. Everything in Creed 3 is extremely shallow.

Totally agree man. Very tempted to write an essay on it. Probably the most disappointing film of the year for me.

@@ColeProtocolFilms They couldn’t even follow the continuity well and that’s the least of it’s issues. The movie starts off in 2002 and then goes ahead 15 years later to 2017 for his “final fight” which SUPPOSEDLY means Creed 2 happened in.. 2016? Even though it’s made apparent to the audience that a decent amount of time has passed, but whatever. I think Creed 3 is the black sheep of that trilogy and the positive response to it is something I find all the more confusing. It’s such a basic film
compared to the first two which were layered with characters who were all compelling. I heard the movie was a mess in the editing room and they begged Stallone to fix it before wrapping it up and truthfully, it really does show. It suffers from a lack of identity.

@@theotherfella61 The movie was okay, Damian was not as interesting as Drago , that Drago was in the movie at all was a bit confusing, Creed 3 didn't have that motivation given like Creed 1 and 2, also the soundtrack is annoying

Rocky isn’t needed in Creed 3 since his narrative role was already fulfilled in Creed 2. Rocky’s whole purpose was to train the next heavyweight champion and Adonis won the title while succeeding where his father failed.
I don’t think the story is anymore pretentious than the previous ones - the Creed series has been about Adonis confronting his future, present and past during different stages of his boxing career. Creed 3 does a good job at exploring Adonis’ past and metaphorically (Dame is what Creed could’ve become had he not been adopted) has him coming to grips with himself and who he is

I think the direction and camera work were well done but the writing could have been better. Michael didn't write the script so he had limited control over that. But the writing of the antagonist could have been fleshed out better. From interview, Michael said that he didn't want a "mustache twirling" villian but more of an antagonist. Some of that was Johnathan Major who over acted in certain points. Another issue was that adult Damian's character was introduced too fast and didn't get a chance to really connect with the film. With that being said, I feel it was mostly the script that didn't fit with the direction that MBJ wanted to go in. Still loved the movie but I believe that Creed 4 will be more fleshed out in terms of writing. Especially because it did well in theaters and I have a feeling that Rocky will be back!!!!!!!
