    Some of my favorites are not on this list (on top of my head) : Pang, Lost Patrol, Snow Bros,...

    Wow they sure look really cool. Wish I played Amiga before when I was a kid.
    I always remember that British video game company Ocean Software. It was one of the biggest European video game companies in the 1980s and 1990s. We know they made many games for 8-bit consoles, 16-bit consoles, PC, N64, Sony PlayStation 1 and Sega Saturn in the 1980s and 1990s as well.
    In 1998, it renamed Infogrames UK two years after Ocean Software was bought by a French video game company Infogrames. In 2003, it renamed Atari UK. Since 2009. Ocean Software has now traded as Bandai Namco Entertainment UK after Atari sold their European assets to the Japanese company Bandai Namco Entertainment. However Atari stills retains the rights of some Ocean titles such as Hunchback, Wizball and Mr. Nutz I think.
    Anyway greetings from Ireland 🇮🇪

      Yup. Sadly they were known for a heck of a lot of rubbish too. I have a complete Ocean C64 video too.

    I actually missed Beach Volley in this list. It's one of the Ocean games I thought was really addictive. Plus it had ace graphics and music.

    • @JustJamie1983

      Absolutely especially for Sonic fans fused with the destruction of wildlife. Pretty sure Kid Chaos has some legal battle due to similarities. Could be wrong though?

    • @naviamiga
      @naviamiga ปีที่แล้ว

      That's right. I believe it was originally called Kid Vicious, but there was complaints from Sid Vicious (or his label). Don't know if this was an actual legal thing or just the threat was enough to get them to change the name.@@JustJamie1983

    You just have the numbers and not the game titles so for ones people dont know its not clear what game it is. 👎 I dont recognise no 7 and the video is pointless if you cant actually learn of games you dont know. 😢😢😢
    Why is the character off centre way forwards in RoboCop? 😂 Devs really didnt have common design sense back then 😂❤
    Not played Amiga Rainbow Islands but the Spectrum version is one of the best games on the system, that truly holds up today. I think the Speccy RI is the best home port (Genesis doesnt have normal RI or would be superior) outside of arcade accurate ones like TGCD. It actually destroys all the other 8 bits and NES, MS etc. It looks good and gameplay is fantastic.

    ELF, Kid Chaos and Batman were the ONLY Acceptably good ones...all the others were pathetic conversions....pretty unacceptable especially compared to other lower spec game consoles. No Amiga game should have ever been worse than the Sega Genesis or C64 or NES versions. Sadly most are because they were ported over by third parties.

    • @JustJamie1983
      @JustJamie1983  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yes. Ocean we're notorious for bad conversions. However. This is some of the best of there library. Remember. Personal preferences is subjective 😉

    • @arostwocents
      @arostwocents ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Almost every system has a worse version of Rainbow Islands than Spectrum though outside of TGCD & PS1. Sometimes everything just comes together. It's really hard to move to a more powerful gen too, look how many companies closed down so Ocean did not do too badly. You got to remember what the industry was like back then and the fact the programmers were self taught kids programming micros a few years before.

    • @arostwocents
      @arostwocents ปีที่แล้ว

      New Zealand story looks a bit fast but it's handicapped by being a bad game, so the excellent graphics here probably do make it one of the best versions. A lot of the other games on the list are objectively bad games so it's not really the conversions fault. All they could do was improve graphics and most of these look excellent graphically.

      I found it a very good arcade,.. despite I've would liked the whole game be the 2d platformer sections with more levels and would give away the puzzle and training sections.

    One Ocean game I really wanted to play: Does anyone know why Universal Monsters was cancelled? I really wanted to play that! It was an isometric game that looked like a modern take on the Ultimate Filmation games or Head Over Heels.
    There was a preview in Amiga Power and it looked awesome then it was like it just disappeared...
    My faves: Lost Patrol / Wizkid / Kid Chaos... So KC was written by Shaun Southern and Andrew Morris of Magnetic Fields (Lotus, Supercars etc) - I really enjoyed the game as i had it on CD32 and it felt like a true Amiga mascot platformer.
    The only thing that frustrated me about the game was you couldn't go 'Sonic' fast because it was likely you'd fall down a death pit or bundle into spike or something. I just wanted to go crazy smashing stuff up but strict time limits and precision performing were the order of the day. The game was technically gorgeous. Amazing graphics and sound throughout.
    I loved Mr Nutz on Amiga because it has Zelda style adventure bits as well as the platforming.
    Oh and I know it's not really the place but Dennis was crap. And Sleepwalker was over-hyped...
    Respect on the nostalgia!
