I used to be an arcturus hater until norkbork's analysis showed me the light.
I like the impossible version far more but I still think it's one of the few levels that actually pulls off the "hell" theme in a way we've never seen before. It actually feels like you're being chased through the level, and it's a battle you end up losing, and don't even get me started on how well it fits the song, especially in the minus wave with the cello, and the ending.

3:48 even though I don't really play the game anymore, I actually did beat Lonely Travel as my first medium demon. It was not as nearly as bad as you'd expect for me as I beat the level in under 500 attempts and fluked it from 45%
for reference: pretty much everything in the entire second half is either free or gets consistent with practice. Was the fluke lucky? Probably. At the time it didn't even feel like much of a medium demon to me lol.

About the low detail thing, what if people just made practically identical ldm versions of levels that just used newer objects to optimize it better? Like for some clouds, people just scale up those little circles and use those? Would it look bad? Yes. But it's better than it being unfair.

I beat few easy demons like the nightmare etc. Then I did syobon action 1 and 2 for my first medium demons, then I jumped to insane demon Exg, then Acu, glisten and now for my third extreme I'll do moment. Literally only 1 or 2 top players said its enjoyable, one of them being diamond, and the other being zoink, who is known to enjoy some of the most garbage gameplay, he's like the biprex of the 360 hz community
