Tip: When you pull the handbreak up, don’t press the button. Let it click for a few times. That’s the right way of engaging your handbreaks. Only press the button if you’re going to disengage it. You’re doing it in a wrong way the whole time.

but still though, yes, you don't need to press the release button in the handbrake to engage because it will likely not engage if pressed while engaging
