I had started my locs in 2003(4) I think with loc extensions and at some point I cut them off and had my own locs for a very long time. But I noticed my locs didn’t seem to be growing as much as I thought it would. I wanted my locs to my butt lol and tho it was somewhat there it was still taking to long. So like you I found videos on TH-cam and made my own..(took forever) but I made my locs longer and I was happy with it for a while....I noticed the extra weight since my locs are to my butt especially when it was wet...lord it would be hard to wash. I had to drape parts of my locs on my shoulder just to finish shampooing.... But after having a come to Jesus meeting with myself I decided to trim a good part off...it’s still long but not as heavy anymore. The other thing for me with the loc extensions I noticed my curls don’t last as long anymore. I could maybe get a day out of it(but I’m very low maintenance with my locs) so I don’t leave the curlers in for that long. Also I’m ALWAYS touching up my extensions...it gets fuzzy or I’m always checking for soft spots....it’s definitely a lot of work to keep up.
Mrs. RockKitty (VixxVoodooKitty) thanks so much for sharing! I’m glad you found peace with what works best for your loc journey in cutting a few. And yes! Wash day is a whole production lol I realized my curls fell quickly too but then again I only kept the curlers in for two hours. I wish all the best to you on your hair journey and so glad you decided to try them out yourself ❤️
At the beginning of my loc journey I added loc extensions to a few of the locs in the front of my hair jus to add fullness (it was choppy in the front). After having them and washing them, I realized that the texture hair was much softer and pliable than the loc extensions. It really bugged me! When my hair was wet, the difference was more noticeable and I kept fussing with the area where I joined it bc I was trying to blend it. After about 4 works I decided to remove them. I just got over the unevenness and preferred it over the extensions. I think if my hair were long as yours, and more mature (I'm 1.5 years in) it would not have been as noticeable.
I did my own extentions after my hair was already locd. I had issues with the attachment but I lasted over a year before I decided to cut them off. I dont regret it
Cant wait for my Locs to reach your length Queen 😍 Imma start uploading more loc videos once I’m clued up about this whole YT thang! Thanks for sharing sis
I just added some extensions to my actual locs and it feels so much softer than my real hair. They say the loc extensions are suppose to be stiff but mine are soft 🥴 I’m worried.
I’ve added some tips extensions to some of my locs to even them out so they will also look fuller eventually I’ll cut them out so no big deal for me lol Thanks for sharing
Thats why you always have to access your locs, and just know that periodically you will have to do loc maintenance. This happened to one of my locs and I was not prepared 😩 I had to use temp synthetic hair to repair the loc until I received the human afro kink bulk hair in the mail. Btw, your locs looks good 👍 and great content.
Thank you for the informative content. I’m wondering if I could us the bulk hair to do my 2 strand twist for starter locs, if anyone has done this please let me know.
thanks for that info i just got im a first timer i just started my instant locs this past friday 1/21/22 so fat r im so happy but the srinkage is real thinking about gettint ext
Hi, and I must say I love you locs. I had an undercut So I got like extensions and I love them. However, they often get heavy on certain styles . Does this happen to you?
I think yours look great, but I would be worried I couldn't see what was going on with the ends of my locks and the dreaded mold I might be caught in it.
Definately not my thing. False hair of any kind don't appeal to my nature. From what I have seen it damages your hair in the end. I respect other ppls choice to wear them though.
I love it and added a few to my loc's that were shorter or to the new loc babies that were growing and sticking up all over my head of 20yr loc's. The thing to remember is when making the extension you have to make the actual loc extension itself "tightly compacted and firm". In doing so I never worry about them getting too soft in a wash or falling off. Just be sure to check them every now an then. I love your channel and the knowledge you share. Thanks Beautiful🥰

Pro trick: you can watch movies on flixzone. Been using it for watching all kinds of movies during the lockdown.
@Lachlan Derrick definitely, I have been watching on flixzone for since november myself =)

Hi Desiree, how do you remove lock extentions without cutting your natural hair. ?
I just added some extensions to my actual locs and it feels so much softer than my real hair. They say the loc extensions are suppose to be stiff but mine are soft 🥴 I’m worried.
u fine
Where did you purchase yours because mine feel horrible and they irritate me. I’m taking them out tomorrow
I’ve added some tips extensions to some of my locs to even them out so they will also look fuller eventually I’ll cut them out so no big deal for me lol Thanks for sharing

Curly hair looks good on you
KOE ano thank you so much! ❤️
What do you guys think about loc extensions? Have you ever considered? Or is it not your thing? ❤️
Desiree Marie how many extensions did you add?
Not a bad idea to add on “I think”! You’re pretty btw 😍

Donna Reid if you use synthetic hair then yea it will damage but if u use human hair ots better
