    I have a 150 lb Muay Thai bag and was looking at multiple videos on how I could hang it in my garage, it’s a closed ceiling as well, without it busting down the ceiling and your video helped a lot, thanks.

      Wow, that’s a very heavy bag. Even if it is just one person, I am happy to help. If it ever falls down no worries…you can just blame me haha 😏 Thanks for the feedback!

    I love the way you take time to answer your comments! I’m hanging something heavy from my ceiling (not heavy bag) & was wondering if when using the additional wood secured to multiple studs would you say it’s particularly necessary to have the bag (or heavy item) secured into a stud as well.

    • @johnsgym3132
      @johnsgym3132  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Haha thanks, I like to help where I can. I was aiming for mine to hold at least 250lbs. Prbly a bit overkill. I'd say if you are only using one stud (whether it be the extra wood across or just the stud in the ceiling) it should be able to secure about 100lbs. Hope that helps and thank you for the view!

      I just got this everlast one for Christmas, it’s a cheaper material but it’ll get the job done. If you are looking for a higher quality bag I would go to title, I bought a leather speed bag from there and it’s still in fairly decent shape from daily use for about a year.

      This is the only bag I’ve personally used, but I’d agree with Connor here based on what I have read. This Everlast bag is still getting the job done for me some years later. I’ve thought about buying some different bungees just to play around with the tension.

    How hight are your ceilings? My ceiling is only 8 ft hight so IAM thinking I have to do several nuts on bungie cord to adjust it like yours?
    IAM getting an 8ft rail to mount a 100lbs 6ft bag for boxing and muay thai, a water bag and the double end bag....
    Don't know yet if I should put the double end bag on the rail too since I won't be able to slide it with out unhooking bottom bungie cord from whatever is holding it down?
    My son wrestles so we use garage to do wrestling drills too that's why IAM getting a rail so I can slide the 6ft 100lbs bag and the water round bag out of the way.
    I think for double end bag I can install it pretty much anywhere and just unhook bottom whenever we put mats down to wrestle! What do you think?

    • @johnsgym3132
      @johnsgym3132  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      My ceiling is 9ft high and it stretches the bungee a little bit too much. I think your 8ft ceiling might be better depending on the bungee used.
      Yeah it’s pretty easy to just unhook the double end bag and move it out of the way. That’s a cool idea with the rail being able to slide things off to the side. I use a mat also and had to make sure to hang stuff far enough on the edges that there was space. I wish I had a water bag! Sounds like you have a great set up.

      Thank you. Yes I have a little gym with a foldable rack and other stuff in there too. Just need to put my water bag up, double and end bag...as far as the other bag don't know which one to buy yet...been looking at 80 lbs and 100lbs heavy bags don't k kw which one to get yet and what brand.. I will be getting a 5ft instead of the 6ft I mentioned earlier. We will be using it for boxing and muay thai.
      Been looking at the oustslayer 5ft bag but they are expensive..the unfilled bag is only $134 but I have to fill it myself and don't know if is worth getting the unfilled one?? The filled one comes out to $350

    Graet video 👍

    How did you locate where to screw in the planks?
    How is the bag hanging all these months later? Is it still secure?

    • @johnsgym3132
      @johnsgym3132  3 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      Hey thanks for the feedback!
      I used a stud finder and poked with a thin nail to feel out the ceiling studs. The combo of the stud and plank with a heavy duty screw eye made a pretty strong anchor. I can hang on the bag and it still feels secure 4years later. I don’t expect it to break anytime soon.

    • @johnsgym3132
      @johnsgym3132  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@DeadlyStrike228 It would be safe as long as you anchor it in a stud. I didn't do that at my old apartment to avoid them complaining and trying to charge me any money when I left. Plus I was on the bottom floor and I thought it'd be too loud for the ppl above me. I went with a free standing bag while I stayed there. Did a review on that bag (VS1) as well. Good question.

    • @johnsgym3132

      I used a screw, but you could use a bolt. You just have to drill a pilot hole into the stud first. I think a screw would be the better option for ceiling

    • @johnsgym3132
      @johnsgym3132  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Idk, 2 meter seems low. The double-end bag may not have enough tension in the bungees. Heavy bag might be low to the ground, but still usable. The rings are adjustable so I think those would be fine. Hope that helps 👍🏼
